I think you should be able to control the volume for parking through the sensors for each individual. My BMW had full 12” colour display with full navigation and turning points etc. I do miss it and I hope it comes for the AWD but naturally all cars are different. You study before you buy. But when BYD give you extras but take away other things that you could just click on/off and keep, it’s a little annoying. We are all different if I want noise and you don’t…. then give us a separate volume control as in other cars. Sat nav is also low sound at a max of 10 let it go up to 20 as the other volume controls. It sounds as though I don’t like my car, but things can be overcome, I still enjoy my ride !
My biggest gripe with this car after owning it for a little over a month is the ADAS. It intervenes toooooo much, and most of the time it’s inaccurate. I had the car brake itself when there was nothing on my path. The car actually sensed a pedestrian on the sidewalk when I was making a turn and decided it should brake abruptly. I turned off the FCTB but left the alert on, and it still braked itself. So now I have everything turned off. I only have blind spot monitoring on, but I barely notice it anyway since I never drove a car with BSM before. I also turned off intelligent cruise control as I often accidentally tripped the button on the steering wheel and activated cruise control by accident. It made the car apply the brake when I was overtaking someone on the highway. The ADAS in just takes away the enjoyment of driving this car. Another thing I wish BYD improves in future models is the dash cam. I installed the OEM dash cam, which I love, but it doesnt record sound and there’s no parking mode. Parking mode is very important imo. And the video gets all messed up during hard braking (which in my case was an ADAS error). One minor thing, which I saw BYD has fixed with the facelifted Seal is the placement of the start/stop button. In the current model it’s located in the same vicinity with the EPB. I turned the car off once when the car was still in reverse. In the updated Seal, BYD moved this button to the upper left corner. It’s more strategically placed I think. I hadnt noticed the negatives you mentioned in the video, probably because this is my first EV, and also the most automated car I’ve ever owned. Overall I’m very pleased with the car. It’s so much better now that I’ve disabled all the ADAS. Love the ride and the acceleration. Amazing cruiser.
Thanks for the comment. I saw a lot of people complaining about the ADAS in earlier this year, but it looks like the software updates have helped to address some issues. I have experienced phantom braking only twice during 14,000 km. Hopefully you get the ADAS issues sorted out. Regarding the dash cam, this is exactly the "lack of sentry" issue I mentioned in the video. Instead of using the dash cam, the car has multiple other cameras to all directions, which should be used to record even when the car is off. The car's battery management system can take care of topping up the 12V LFP from the high-voltage LFP to power the cameras constantly, if the user wants. This is the Sentry mode which should be added.

ADAS seems to be the weak point of all the Chinese EVs and ICE vehicles. I've no doubt they'll eventually catch up but they are just overly aggressive and lack refinement. So they'll pass ANCAP but the problem is most users wind up turning them off which defeats the purpose of ADAS. No ADAS system I've used is perfect. Those are not a cons at all, cons are - if you drive in a sport mode battery lasts for 400 km max, suspension is harder than other cars that you will feel any small cracks in the road and in a sunny days glass top gets really hot right top of your head
Thanks for the comment! For me, range is plenty even though obviously Seal is not the most efficient EV out there. It is quite a heavy car, which shows in the consumption. I have liked the ride comfort / sportiness balance. No issues with glass roof for me - that said, I do live in colder climate personally.
Thank you, my experience with BYD is with an ATTO 3, this inaccurate consumption reporting is a deliberate misleading scheme throughout BYD,s range in my opinion. I don't understand why all governments allow this deliberate inaccurate reporting.
Well, let’s see if any future OTA will bring anything to this area. I don’t think there is anything to hide about the consumption, it is just poorly reported and visualized. The actual consumption of the performance variant has been pretty much what I expected - not anything super, but not terrible either. But it’s the way the data is presented.
BYD Seal is a very good & relatively cheap car. I am very please with it. 33% cheaper than my previous Toyota, Lexus 250H, and with maintenance cost/power cost at 20% of ICE petrol.
@@soonhockchua3740 it is good value for money for sure. Especially in some markets where BYD is more aggressive with the pricing. In Europe pricing is more conservative, but it is still pretty good value for money compared to some competitors like the Ioniq 6.
Guess you have a more positive impression of the Seal. The suspension is sub par. Don't like the steering, Did not give me confidence in where it goes. Software and software. I don't think there is any good software in that car. The control with acceleration is bad, motor Breaking, bad. Infotainment isn't good. Why buy it, when the model 3 update is flat out better all round.
Yes, my experience has been very good overall. I have driven also the Model 3, and liked that one too, though prefer the Seal. Nevertheless, always good to have options available.
@@ElectricSeal-bq5wu I would never pick the option, where they can't make a simple feedback control loop(prevent wheel spin) I have seen better software by first year engineering students. Btw they haven't figured the Thermal control of the battery out yet.
I like the interior of the seal better. I like that it has buttons, indicator stalks and a front drivers screen and heads up display- all I think better than tesla. I also think it looks nicer, there is more space in the back seats and (in australia) it's cheaper. The things i like better in the tesla (after driving both) is the software and the super charging network. I disagree about the acceleration and breaking and prefer seal for both. Ditto the suspension- it's softer in the seal which for driving my family around is better. I guess if you're into racing the firmer suspension in the tesla you might prefer but for most people i think the better ride quality in the seal wins out.
I am absolutely 100% with you with those 3 drawbacks especially the front parking sensor. Nice work 👍🏻

I don't like the way to ventelade the seat.
I agree, ventilation should be stronger. I wonder if this is a common issue?
In Europe pricing is more conservative, but it is still pretty good value for money compared to some competitors like the Ioniq 6.
front sensor n hud is real jokes comment from you, basically you need customize car for your own need or better build your car.
Not joking, just sharing my view. 🙂 But thanks for watching anyway
@@ElectricSeal-bq5wu I would never pick the option, where they can't make a simple feedback control loop(prevent wheel spin)
I have seen better software by first year engineering students.
See, this is my issue, I don't understand why you and many others, especially our lawmakers, accept false reporting or presentation of figures...!?
