    Thank you all for the great feedback! I don’t usually get this many views on a TH-cam video - where did you all come from? Just recommended TH-cam videos? Also, what would you like to see next? ❤

      Recommended by TH-cam after looking at a few different EV reviews for upcoming releases.
      I did enjoy your initial review of the Dolphin though. Keep it up!
      You have a very engaging style, and it would be great to see more EV reviews.

      Most definitely not. People don't need a car made with Uyghur slave labour, CCP subsidies and without regards to human rights in the delving and processing of raw materials. BYD scored lowest of all EV manufacturers in the latest human rights report by Amnesty.
      Also: 7000km's in a year? She didn't need a car, she could've used a bike.

    I have had my Dolphin for 6 months - same model. No problems whatsoever, and beautifully built. In practice I get around 400km around town, but that's because I enjoy the performance rather worry about efficiency. My AGL night EV tariff charges the car for around $5. Latest software version (1.3) fixes a lot of the ADACs issues. I turn off the traffic sign recognition (and it stays off), and turn off the more aggressive lane keeping etc, so in normal driving there are no bing bongs at all. Agree Sport mode is super fun, but I tend to leave it in Normal mode, with only the steering in Sport mode to give a more direct feel. Two things I don't like - the boot cover is a bit flimsy, and the dash vents can reflect of the windscreen. Otherwise an amazing little hot hatchback!

    •  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@metricstormtrooper Also the Seal? I agree that the Dolphin and the Atto 3 have some «playfull» designs. I own the grew/black Dolphin with the black interior which is quite «normal» - and it is very practical. The Seal and the upcoming Sealion 7 have a much more conventional interior.

    • @richardlee3971
      @richardlee3971 4 วันที่ผ่านมา +15

      your observation is correct, BYD's ADAS does not belong to the top ones, the best one is from huawei, xpeng etc, BYD is good at battery and its fully integrated supply cgain therefore it could be extremely cheap

    •  4 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      @ It seems, that the more pricier cars from BYD, like the Seal, have better systems. I had the chance to rent it for a weeks and it felt better. I am very interested in the upcoming Sealion 7, but I want to rent a car for some days.

    • @nagi-springfield93
      @nagi-springfield93 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      Byd already has around 4thousand engineer working on adas alone. The second biggest team behind huawei. Currently only denza and yangwang using adas develop from their inhouse team, which is a very good adas system for in china. For the dynasty brand and ocean brand they are still using third party adas for their cheaper model. Lately high end model from han seal start to equip better adas system which develop by dji.
      Currently around 100krmb -180k rmb they using momenta adas, 180k-230k using dji, denza brand which start from 230k above till yangwang which cost over 1m using dji inhouse adas. The next fangchengbao 8 which start around 400k gonna use huawei adas. Which in china is known for having better adas system than tesla fsd

A lot of Chinese owners like to do that (like me), I even installed mobile games on it, and attached a gamepad thru USB to play my favorite games on my car (of course not when driving:). Some apps are only designed to run on cell phone's portrait screen, the screen will automatically rotate to fit.

I'm kind of hoping they give me a Dolphin as a loan car at my first service :) Also, I think the button on the right of the gear selector is the "Park" gear, not the Electric Park Brake. For some reason the BYD's have a "P" for Park and a "(P)" for Electric Park Brake / Hand Brake. Even more confusing, selecting the Park gear activates the Electric Park Brake!

Unfortunately, here in Canada the only EVs that are available are American or Korean, and I am not interested in any of those products.
