My ex grew up in Wimbledon and we did 27 pubs in one day. Being a lady I was only drinking halves and not so fast but that was a right funny pisshead experience!
Did this fantastic pub crawl yesterday,raised a glass for Oliver.Best pub by a long chalk was The Crooked Billet,fantastic array of beers ad ciders.Fox and Grapes was woeful,empty,sterile,miserable South African barman,2 choices of lagers,total cack.Dog and Fox very poncy,barman needs a firmer wrist to serve the pints.Very nice day,Wimbledon Common is very beautiful in the sunshine.

I wonder how many actually know that it was arm wrestling that killed dear Oliver in the Pub where he was staying in Malta during shooting. Its sad that he never got to see how good he was in the finished movie.. I bet his up there at a table beating all the angels at arm wrestling now.. A wonderful , missed national treasure ! I attempted the Wimbledon 8 last month. I'm not a big drinker, so I only made it to 6 and quit after the Hand in Hand. I knew I'd be sick if I had one more, so I went home. The hard part is the time factor towards the end. I saw the arm-wrestling man in the same pub in this video but didn't bother him. I'll try the 8 again some day and make it to the end. It's a pretty area, too.
