  • PRAYER & MEDITATION: Connecting with God is the "third" of a 6-part lecture series called: DEEPENING JEWISH EXPERIENCE: The Spiritual Dimension Seminar with Rabbi Michael Skobac. - It is commonly assumed that meditation is foreign to Judaism. This is an unfortunate misconception. Judaism actually has a very developed and ancient meditative tradition. One of the most powerful of these is prayer. This session will explore the concept of prayer in Judaism - what it is and where it is supposed to take us.
If you want to deepen your understanding of Judaism, are seeking more from your Jewish experience, or are just curious - then this seminar is for you! In six stimulating sessions, Rabbi Skobac explores Jewish wisdom and inspirational teachings, discovering their profound relevance to your life. Enjoy!
JEWS FOR JUDAISM is dedicated to countering the growing multi-million dollar efforts of Christian missionary groups that target Jews, the impact of cults & eastern religions, assimilation & other challenges to Jewish continuity. JEWS FOR JUDAISM strengthens Jewish pride and identity and wins back Jews who have been influenced by missionaries & cults. We achieve our goals through FREE educational programs, materials and counseling services that connect Jewish people to the spiritual depth, beauty and wisdom of Judaism and keep Jews Jewish. Rabbi, this was a great teaching from five years ago and it is so relevant today during this Covid19 event in March 2020. HaShem is constantly searching our motives. We should be constantly seeking His Face. You talked about silence. We are so accustom to being busy. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I Am G-d (YHWH). Developing our relationship should and must be our life goal. Again thank you. Shalom.

Thank you Rabbi. How enlightening! Very different from some christian teaching, which at times tells us ask the unknown God for our material needs. I now understand why I lack in each area of my life, in every area of lack is caused by own ignorance. I used to blame people for cursing me. At times I rush through a prayer. I like Fiddler on the Roof. Your talk is not just mundane air.

Thank you for such amazing insight on prayer and meditation and connecting to God. I am curious to watch the rest of the series. Where can I find this series at ? Connecting with God is the "third" of a 6-part lecture series called: DEEPENING JEWISH EXPERIENCE: The Spiritual Dimension Seminar with Rabbi Michael Skobac. Also I see that meditation is a surrender of my spirit to connect with God so that I may have insight to God rather than the things of this world. Now I understand why. Thank you again.

Yes, people believe that if the focus is mental health. No need for mankind to complete Torah,Talmud, prayer. A way to not include Hashem. Morality needs to be reintroduced
