I really hope the next version carries a 17" screen with thinner bezels. Then it would be perfect for me. (we are just not at that stage to expect power and great battery life.... and I accept that)
good news and bad news. its now has thinner bezels and the thinest chasis on a gaming laptop however its still a 15 inch screen in a 14inch footprint, battery is still the same tho but without gsync nor a gtx 1080max q this time
@prpann bro your wish just got true with the new Zephyrus ROG S (GX701)!!!! Its now a 17" in the form factor of a 15" device. And you are now able to run the entire device with just a small USB - C charger (ofc if your gaming you need the charger that comes with it)
well i prefer more in details to the points like naming out the full name of the parts like you just name the processor generation, however not every single core i7 are the same ~
excuse me sir there is no laptop in the world with the thickness of 179mm. the actual thickness of this laptop is 17.9 mm thats seventeen point nine. please edit that out before people get to know that you guys dont know wat u talking about. im a very long subscribed viewer and i feel bad that you guys are not paying attention on editing before uploading...!
My asus rog g750jw great-great-great grandson is born asus zephyrus =) nice to see it do well, i still prefer a 17.3 inch screen gaming laptop such as my asus g750jw,looking to invest in a new version in future.
Moses Jonson I have the same model and it's still kicking faster than alot of newer laptops and performs great with an SSD but this will have to be an investment in thr future
Arthur Sugamosto get the 1080 maxq version. RTX and raytracing will take time to develop. Hell, even RTX 2080 would struggle with raytracing on on current games
I own this so i'll just come out swinging with the Cons: -Shitty battery life -Bat stupid keyboard placement -Overly Fuckin priced $2400-$3000 ( I got as a present which i am very "Grateful" for even though i wanted an alienware thats much less cheaper but my Dad told the staff he wanted "the most expensive gaming computer for my son" -_- )
My G70 (the grand father) was great for 2yrs then i had many issues... the only thing i hate about this is the bulky ugly bezel round the screen 📺. Wow asus couldn't made it more uglier 🤢
179mm laptop, damn I thought you said it was thin (179mm is 17.9cm or 0.179m)
My prostate quivered until I heard that bettery life. I love the concept nevertheless, hopefully it will inspire other manufacturers.
Renasense Battery is the last thing to consider on gaming laptops. Really :)

Same here

Nice review. Straight to the point
Thanks Shaun!
TechRadar Please can you give us some feedback to the very low pixel response time and bad ghosting.

I find it really funny how this laptop only cost about 800 to 1000 pounds
I really want this, but its around 3500 NZD, really have to save up from months...
Save up for months? that's great isn't. As for me I have to save up for years.
I wanna see what other manufacturer's counterparts will be like, this is a start of a new generation.
Lucius Wong i
alienware also has a laptop with max-q
There’s the predator triton 700. But it’s even more expensive.
Vyzactyh on a ridiculously thick chassis. Throwing away the main selling point of max q design.
Wait, so $2700 and £2700... Surely that can't be right!
£1 = $1.3 atm, so it should be either £2700 and $3500... or... $2700 and £2070.
£700 UK electronic tax.
Import tax and VAT. Welcome to the wonderful life of being in the EU.
TEMPERATURE question: Can you game and place on your lap without burning yourself? Same question, but comparing to Gigabyte Aero 15x.
What happened to btekt?

it was one small detail, and you are really nitpicking
Calm down child.
Dumbass, if you couldn't figure out this laptop isn't 17cm from the video then you're an idiot... No need to clarify the mistake
Awesome laptop, though the location of the touch pad is unfortunate for left-handed people :(
I didnt even think about left handed people! Good criticism.
Baz is a real boon to the TR channel. nice vid

Moses????
Interesting product!
How long would you estimate it running doing web browsing on 25% power saving mode?
I love this computer, just like the gm501 better. (Newer model of the Zephyrus)
Gsync doesn’t deliver refresh rates. The tech utilizes higher refresh rates to reduce tearing
how do you set up g-sync? do you have to set vsync on in nvidia control panel?
Review on Asus ROG Zephyrus gX501 laptop
Great review
Only 500gb SSD?
excellent review
Im planning to buy a gaming laptop between this Zephyrus GX501 with 16GB Ram and Lenovo Y540 with RTX 2060, which one do you recommend?
Arthur Sugamosto get the 1080 maxq version. RTX and raytracing will take time to develop. Hell, even RTX 2080 would struggle with raytracing on on current games
Screen is 144hz not 120, need to correct that
Does it support thunderbolt charging?
No thunderbolt is not enough fot this laptop
can run assasin creed origins?🤔🤔

Incredibly quiet my bum!
Jay Estrella I have this, haven’t noticed the fan noise since i got it and Im playing AAA games at ultra graphics most of the time
Having the trackpad on the right is so stupid.
Why?
TeamRespawn but on a ROG gaming laptop it's basically Irrelevant. You would be using a mouse anyways
A trackpad on the bottom center is worse lol
i dont like the screen
My G70 (the grand father) was great for 2yrs then i had many issues...
the only thing i hate about this is the bulky ugly bezel round the screen 📺. Wow asus couldn't made it more uglier 🤢
This laptop looks stupid.
Why?
Ace Boogie like you.
I am all about Cooling for Gaming Laptops and Zephyrus is the only one who got it right
