    121,300 miles averaging 34.1 mpg on my 2018 Civic EXT, CVT (no mods, no tune).
    Immaculate service with early oil/filter intervals. Replaced trans fluid three times. Cleaned fuel injectors. Flushed coolant three times. Replaced spark plugs. Just replaced the water pump, drive belt, coolant flush, and PCV valve. That the most expensive service I’ve done in the four years of ownership (bought new).
    I’m working on tracking longevity. Planning on 300k miles on engine and transmission with no repair 🙏

      I've got a 2017 Honda civic hatch sport sport CVT with 191,000 miles
      1. Original spark plugs
      2 changed coolant once.
      3. 6 times tranny oil changed
      4. 5,000 mile oil change interval, with amsoil signature series.
      5. 91 octane always used.
      6. On original brake pads
      Car trouble free

    Best years for the si was 06 all the way to 15. Now they went back to budget performance. 205 hp may be all honda will ever want in the si because the si still have to be very safe. Since honda can get performance improvements for less, thats why the L15 turbo came out. It should be a tough engine, now being dohc, is even better. Right now, 205 its because an average number, and the type r is showing just how safe a 3000lb 300 hp car can be. So the si may become just a teenager car like it used to be until the type r engine becomes more common.

    Hey whats up man. So I have something to telll ya and something to ask ya. First, Denso was Nippondenso back in the day making alternators for decades and other parts but most people consider NGK to make the best spark plugs and NTK is the same company, just the sensor side of things. NTK is good. There are new plugs with a better electrode for better burn from NGK but maybe not so much a high RPM thing but I feel the torque down low is a lot better. They are Ruthenium plugs. Now for my question. I am close to 100k and need to check my valve lash. How hard is it to remove the valve cover to do that?? Just wiring harness and coolant lines no?? The fuel pump can stay bolted down right?

    • @rpmraf9814
      @rpmraf9814  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t need to check valve lash and the spark plugs should be changed if you haven’t changed them. The valve cover is not hard to remove. Just have to move the harness out of the way.

    Just had my 17 Si looked at Honda. Suspect head gasket problem or valve problem. Gotta get head sent out for resurfacing and cleaning/ replacing gaskets , chain and tensioner. Car never over heated. Just put oem plugs in 2 weeks ago and fouled again. Wonder if that’s a normal thing with these 10 gen Si. I’m not going to have Honda do the job. They want $5200. This is starting to become a common issue even with stock applications. I have seen head gaskets fail on stock high mileage cars. People that are modified are experiencing it sooner because they are making more power. My car was fbo stock turbo on pump gas.
