Britain is by no means a bad tree, but it's greatly held back by nerfing and overtiering from gaijin. Funniest thing is British get nefted from how well we are doing because the people who consistently play British Ground RB are the only one who were willing enough to learn the mechanics and capitalise on it. the Lynx's manification is nefted because they wanted to sell Rooivalk. AH Mk. 1 and other variants are missing their IRCM and IR shields but those modifications exist in Russian KA-52 and Mi-28NM. Starstreak is supposed to reach Mach 3 and not have a cap of Mach 1 on speed. Chally 2's manlet is poorly modeled in which results in less protection.
Gaijin butchered a lot, like the fact the M26 Pershing, T26E5, and Super Pershing are all 6.7 despite each being a subsequent upgrade on the last. It makes zero sense.

I'm convinced Gaijin has an unwritten rule stating that "Britain will never have its moment in the sun". Even the air tree tends to be viciously underwhelming considering the pedigree. Yet, the biggest shocker of them all is that the Royal Navy is woefully impotent (for the most part)- that's just bloody rude lol.

You said it: it's downright rude and inexcusable. Gaijin has some cheek to make the nation which literally invented the three major components of modern land, sea, and air warfare into a kind of afterthought. It was Britain that invented the aircraft carrier, the tank, and the jet engine. Gaijin also reflects the view amongst Wehraboos and other adolescent WT players that Britain merely invented these things and then disappeared, whereas it consistently remained a key top-3 player: Britain fielded the Allies' only fighter jet during WWII (the Meteor), and invented the world's first MBT after the war (the Chieftain); they also built the world's first passenger jet airliner in 1949 (the DeHavilland Comet), perfected STOVL aircraft with the Harrier, and long-range Cold War bombing with the Vulcan. In addition to this, they made further military-adjacent inventions like splitting the atom, inventing radar, and cracking codes with the first computer. If Gaijin had any care for actual history, they would make Britain a solid top-2 nation overall, well ahead of the Americans and Soviets during WWII, and certainly ahead of the Germans after the war.
99% of the time the British tanks aren't actually that bad, it's just the map design and the massive amount of "overtiering" that occurs in the tech trees that makes them look awful. I find it hilarious that guns that were designed to eat WW2 German and later Cold War Russian tanks were nerfed because they were doing exactly that. I take great satisfaction in having obtained nukes in several of the tech tree vehicles because of how rough Britain gets it, my first nuke was in the Ratel 90 on Mozdok ffs xD
@@latch9781 Absolutely - it's a crime that Gaijin refuses to at least give the British that epic survivability for which their tanks are rightly famous. Other nations' strategy is to have a strategic depth of back-up vehicles; the British strategy (even before they invented Chobham armour) has been not to lose a single tank in combat, if they can help it.
1:22:05 I am a warrior gunner IRL and I can tell you that it could be so much worse. If you fire all 6 rounds you have to do a complete unload and reload which takes over 30 seconds to do, you have to fire 3 rounds, insert a new clip, rinse and repeat. If you fire 4 rounds and load a new clip you have a gap in feed and the 30 second reload starts again. The none stabilised gun irl is worthless on the move, you may as well strap the cannon to a speed boat, you’d have about the same accuracy. What’s funny is that it actually has a stabilised sight but you can only use it in “surveillance mode” it’s just a big fat tease I’ve just completed an exercise with the Prince of wales so I’m basically the most important person on the internet also 😂 Anyway time to go leak warrior documents
I know the British wanted it to work even after a nuke went off but come on like the 2 most basic things that IFV's had at the time including Russian BMP-2 and 3 which is an automatic loading system and a stabilized gun, but they couldn't even do that pretty embarrassing imo
@@meepthunder8060 I know that why i said "I know they wanted it to work even after a nuke went off" but even then i don't understand their logic if a nuke went off a IFV wouldn't be much good because that probably means that the world will be fucked
ever since i started playing britain … it’s been PURE suffering. Trying to compete against APHE is by far, the most ANNOYING and ANGER inducing experiences ever. i find pretty unfair how we need two shot’s to kill a tank, while Germany, US, and USSR can just point and click, specially on console where people have INSANE reaction speed
The British tech tree used to be the tech tree for skilled players bored doing well with Americans, Germans, and Russians counterparts. Personally, I love the British tech tree out of heritage and self-loathing. Highlights that I adore are the Daimler gun-go cart, the Crusader III, the Cromwells, the Sherman Fireflies, the Comet I, the Charioteer VII, and the Centurions (yes, even the Mark I). Basically, the cruisers with a few long-range sniping outliers here and there. Favorite support CAS includes the Swordfish (for the memes), the Mosquito FB Mk XVIIIe (speedy flying 6-pounder go brrrr), the premium Thunderbolt, the Wyvern, the Spitfires, and the Hornet Mk. III (last two for exclusively anti-CAS/Counter-air). Give it a try if you want to hone the skills picked up in other tech trees, it’ll make you a more proficient player.
I started with the British Tech tree when I started playing a year and a half ago, been enjoying it, despite the tanks that should be good being shafted by the way the game has been built. I started playing some other tech trees when my crews are locked, and bloody hell, aces every other game. I can play aggressively too, as opposed to having to react to the enemies like in the British tech tree, others get to dictate the flow of a match.
@@agiliteka I think it does make you a better player when you become proficient with British tanks then move on to other tech trees. - High penetration but relatively low post-pen damage guns/rounds force you to become something of a sharpshooter for critical components. - You learn to adapt better to terrain because of the common mobility limitations in the tree. - You learn to rely on positioning rather than armor because of the lackluster protection in most British tanks. - Nifty cruisers like Crusaders, Cromwells, and Comets accommodate the need for speed in the shoot-and-scoot lads. - Excellent Close Air Support options (Typhoons, Wyvern, early Mossie, Spits for counter CAS, etc.) to help mitigate costs. Main-lining the British tech tree is like training with wooden weapons that are twice the weight of their steel counterparts. Sure, it can be wonky and frustrating and may even cause unintentional injury but it betters the player. It embodies the “plucky Brit” sort of character that seems to permeate British military history. Despite its shortcomings, it’s my favorite tech tree by far.
Fun fact, the Polish Firefly actually isn't a carbon copy of the tech tree Firefly. Unlike the tech tree version, the Polish tank uses the standard non-lengthened Sherman hull and the old radial engine as opposed to the famous 5 welded-together bus engines. In theory this should make the Polish Firefly a bit slower, but since they didn't have to extend the hull it's also a lot lighter, resulting in a power/weight ratio that's ever so slightly better than the tech tree Firefly, at the cost of more recoil.
I'm convinced if we had better/bigger maps, the British would be competent. Every time I'm in a city map at tier 6, I just spawn as the warrior. Especially when everything can 1 shot you, and you often need to place 2 shots on tanks to get a kill.
Centurion mk.10 sits at 8.0 with APDshellshatterS and Olifant mk.1 sits at 8.3 with APDFSDS LRF, and better mobility on pretty much the same platform. Great BR balancing gaijin!
i wish the mk.10 had at least the AP shell as well... having just the APDS as an anti tank round is just really annoying. mk3 with it's AP is way stronger even at 8.0
Shot Kal Dalet (basically olifant with thermals) is 9.0 now. Was 8.3 when i got it half price. I want to love it because centurion yay L7 gun yay, but really just feels like a death trap these days. Anything that glances in your general direction pierces the turret, sends shrapnel down through the turret ring, and detonates the ready racks no matter how little ammo or how hull down
When you learn how to use the Archer its actually amazing, played defensively its a neat tank destroyer that unlike any other British tank can actually escape superior enemy forces without having to turn around first since its already set to drive in the direction awa from the enemy. And IRL it was actually quite noted for this ability by its crews, who appreciated being able to shoot and scoot away to the next defensive position rather than getting caught by the Panzers while turning around. Also I’ll defend the 3 inch gun carrier since its got stupendous amounts of armour with angling, so it absolutely chews up many of the light tanks that get spammed about in the 1.7-3.7 range
The 40mm Crusader is actually quite great from my experience. Like A13 but cooler. British 2.7 and 3.7 lineups are pretty great nice imo. The 57mm one is also great, Cromwell 57mm is amazing as well.
As I keep watching the video, I'm really finding my opinions differ quite a bit from Sako. I love the Churchill tanks. Guns aren't great, but armour is fantastic, allowing you to bounce shots while you aim for weak spots. Same playstyle as the Jumbo for me.
Just started playing recently, put maybe 20h in, all Britain, no premiums. I wouldn't call it fun, but it can sometimes resemble fun in the right match. That being said, I feel a great sense of tranquility when I play. Of course every US, German and Russian tank can one-shot me, and my solid shot does nothing. That's the game, apparently. No rage, no salt - I expect to get (at best) a neutral K/D. It's very zen. Can't get angry about losing if you never expected to win. Glad to hear that it only gets worse at the higher tiers. I thought 2.7 / 3.3 was bad, but apparently that's just a warm-up.
My first experience with ground battles was with the British tanks, and after getting the Stuart I gave up and started playing Germany, and after the taste of forbidden fruit I can't go back.
After I recently started to grind all major tech trees, I must say that British rank 1 was overall the most enjoyable rank 1 for me. Compared to Russian and German rank 1, none of the British vehicles were frustrating to play and if I were to introduce somebody to Warthunder, I would start here to make sure they have decent first play experience. As for 1.0 SPAA I must disagree here. It has very nice mobility, gun traverse speed and firerate with good sized magazine. Compared to other starting AAs, this was very pleasant SPAA to play with. Only downside are small caliber guns, so its unusable against most ground vehicles.
Ratel 90 is one of my most played vehicles in the game when it was 6.0. Sure it's huge but the gun is uptier proof. The Warrior has been the biggest surprise in the game for me. Its mobility is better than a Marder and it carries twice as many ATGMS. The fire rate is abysmal on the 30mm cannon but it hits hard enough.
Thank you man, as a british main still going through the ground tree tbis has helped me further understand that I should have chosen a different tech tree as the sherman firefly should not have enticed me enough to have spent 1000 hours on this snail forsaken tech tree, on the postitve note I know know of more humorous vehicles to obtain and I will certantly be spending too much time getting the TES because I think it is funny and the Olifant MK.2 because the super centurion is a rather interesting and humorous idea, thank you for the enjoyment, good humor and ability to stave off the extistental dread.
I loath the Striker after spading the ZT3A2. You can't fight close range because of the missile placement, you can't fight long range because the missiles fly about as fast as you can throw a rock, you have to expose the entire vehicle if you want to actually use the sights and it's got poor mobility. The ZT3A2 beats it in every department, I guess the ZT got a patch or something because I found it's missiles to be very good and easy to aim, they fly like darts towards stuff and are pretty fast meaning you can actually kill things that poke out of cover, unlike the Striker which needs like 10 seconds for the missile to reach anything. Also the Striker can't control more than 1 missile at a time which makes it useless against tanks that have active protective systems where as the ZT with it's laser guided can launch all 3 in quick succession on point and overwhelm such defences. Honestly it's such a downgrade to have to research the Striker after playing such a useful missile carrier.
the conq is probably my favorite in the tree it’s absolute heresy that you think the centurion is mediocre, but at the same time it is criminal how many br increases they’ve suffered
I remember during the british tank CBT it would regularly be one team of the UK vs everyone else combined, and I dont think we ever lost a single game. There were multiple games we won without the enemy even scoring a single kill.
It would be good if they were to add the Boxer in as the top tier IFV for the UK (and germany). The UK will be getting their first Boxers in 2024 but the Australians have been using them for a while already. And yeah the ajax and chally 3 would be cool to see in the future too
Awesome Video! I appreciate the effort that went into it. It has lots of interesting historical facts and useful information. Keep up the good work man! I would like to bring it to your attention that you stated that the Vickers Mk. 3 were bought by Kuwait and sold and licensed to India where they are produced as the Vijayanta 1:24:11 However, these sales were for the Vickers Mk. 1. You did mention that the Vijayanta is a variant of the Vickers Mk. 1 1:34:21 The Vickers Mk. 3 were sold to Kenya, the Vickers Mk. 3N "Eagle" were sold to Nigeria, and the Vickers Mk. 3i and Vickers Mk. 3m achieved no sales. Source: Vickers MBT Mark 3 - Wikipedia "Vickers Mk3 - Tank Design & Development" by Armoured Archives on TH-cam Thank you for your tireless effort.
I have to disagree with your thoughts on the churchill 1, if you angle it and keep it moving it is impenetrable, if you take time with it, it’ll be a fun tank when you learn how to play it
👍. Gaijin just give the British tree a huge handy-cap, but yet give the ussr tree the advantage. Has been since day one & wont change. But it will get worse. As they have proven.
1:17:20 Fun fact: the Olifant Mk2 is in fact not the last centurion, as the TTD is surprisingly based on the Olifant, and therefore by extension based on the Centurion. Very accurate representation of the British TT though: pain, with a few good bits.
The daimler mk2 is one of the best low tier tank , the crew make up for the turret turning rate and for the mobility is perfectly fine . I play it up to 5.0 and still do well
When I get the urge to play British ground I get shivers when I remember solid shot amo. This vehicles would have been much more fun if you could use APHE or if sold shot would create more spalling.
hey the Russians didn't think that solid shot create more spalling but in IRL solid shot has better pen than soviet APHE because how light the shell is and how unreliable the fuse and the highly insensitive the explosives is.
My god was this video good, you did a great job yet again man. This review was bofe informative and entertaining. Next do a review of the Israeli tech tree since it's not that long and probobly less sufferable than the brithis review. Long live the British and king Charles!
48:58 The Centurion Mk.I got moved back to 6.0, so ever so slightly better then the 6.3 1:00:26 And the G6 Rhino was moved from 7.0 to 6.7 in RB, but very funni to obliterate IS-3's through the side when up-tiered
Minor correction on the Tetrarch; it was designed as a successor to the Light Tank Mk VI, and was intended to solve the problem of previous light tanks only having machine guns. Unfortunately, the War Office didn't think that was actually a problem, and so trialled it for use as a "light cruiser", and it lost to the A13 Mk I - which was both already in production, and had been designed according to the light cruiser requirements (unlike the Tetrarch). Someone took pity, though, and a small number of the tanks were built as Light Tank Mk VII Tetrarch (A17), and they were actually issued to units that had lost most/all of their A13s in France at or before Dunkirk.
All problem of Britain tree is Gajin. They took main feature of this nation, and made casino of it. I talk about penetration. How u can play conqueror if u bounce from angled carboards?
31:15 i feel that. Sometimes in my M42 some srapnel from a bomb explodes the ammunition when im 50 meters from the explosion marker (exaggerated, but you know what i mean). Edit: I personally feel that you rush Achilles and be a sniper for grinding tier 2.
For 5.3 mediums... I hate the comet. It has mobility that is worse than the other option, though not by a lot. The armour is enough to make it harder for planes to strafe kill you, but it's not good enough to make any difference with other tanks. But worst, the gun is significantly worse. The shells have much less penetration, which means that you're essentially forced to use the apds since the apcbc has such little pen. That's my 2 cents anyway, I'll take the challenger or even the avenger any day.
Just a comment on the Vijayanta: The statcard shows stock values, so it has the same engine as the Vickers Mk.1 (538hp stock, 608hp spaded). It's just a Mk.1 with the M456 HEAT-FS tbh
I think the difficulty in playing British tech tree will make some of the most hardened players in the game, deffo ones you don’t wanna underestimate. but I imagine they’ll somehow fuck this up as well with their clear bias for others
41:50 comet is a joke, it has less pen, longer reload and same reverse speed as other birtish vehicles at it's br, only good thing is size nothing else
No love for top tier? Man, you've got 5! Challenger 2s lmao, now granted their armor is absolutely terrible compared to what it is in real life but still. - that's basically every Western (non-Russian or Chinese) MBT
How is Tier 2 a struggle? Use the Archer to get the Churchill gun carrier with 3 inch gun then rush the Churchill I. You even have the (Sherman II) If armoured infantry tanks aren't your thing. I have literally gone through Tier 1 & 2 with the Daimler Mk 2 while AEC AA is underrated.
Gotta disagree with the chieftains man… It has its flaws but its gun is definitely not one of them. 120mm apds post pen hits incredibly hard and its definitely not the same as the centurions now that they use tungsten alloy apds
I’ve enjoyed playing both 5.3 and all of the centurions, the apds might shatter some times but I find with a cautious playstyle and careful aim I regularly get between 5-10 kills in matches. The main problem you find is the stabilisers incentivise rushing and with bad reverse speeds to boot that will get you killed
I think its criminal to not mention that the Vickers Mk.1 has a monstrous 6.5 second reload, and a 5 second reload with an ace crew. That thing is an awesome urban brawler, with high speeds and a quick reload to compensate for low spall damage I also think the hulldown armour on the chieftains have not been done justice. Having practically impenetrable turret armour lets you peak with perfect confidence of being able to recieve hits. Also, Chieftain Mk.10 being at 9.0 actually gets it downtiered really often, since it can't meet 10.3 modern vehicles, while being able to bully 8.0 vehicles.
Morning Sako, i love your video's because you're actually more entertaining compared to other war thunder youtubers, because you simply don't give a shit about any sorts of feelings towards any part of the community, for that i love your channel man plus you add on actually good humour towards the tanks not just generic bullshit, hahha sorry as a self-proclaimed Brit in a godforsaken country (South Africa) its definitely a breath of fresh air. so thank you and i hope you're having a wonderful day.
BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE BRITISH TECH TREE step 1: Don't even bother to start British tree unless you have strong faith on them I am a British tank main too, I can perform much superior in other nation's tanks. I can confidently say that skill is irrelevant to your performance, your vehicle does. I would say British tanks in war thunder are not bad, they just don't fit how people are playing this game.
currently on Rank 2 close to Rank 3 i genuinely dont know the strat for playing british tanks cus it feels like no matter how you play them you cant win, rush onto a site? you get one shotted, play far back? your shots dont penetrate and youre about as accurate as when trying to take a piss at 2am, wanna tank some shots with a heavy tank? good luck the armour is unreliable and your tank is basically a flat box meaning theres no chance they dont penetrate and dont think angling your tank will save you.
DU is a much more dense metal, compared to tungsten, so for the same shape of dart, it will weigh more. So a DU round fired at the same velocity as a Tungsten round, will penetrate more armour, due to the mass x velocity energy formula
I have started most tech trees on low tiers and played for a while. Even tough i do have nearly all toptier premiums. GBR line i played to around rank 2-3 and bought Challenger DS right away when it came out.
Yeah using britain as a faction is a struggle Light tanks was okay but when i hit Rank 2 Just getting my crusaders, cromwells and valentines 1 shotted by Russian American and German tanks lol
Edit: content since adjusted so thanks to the creator of this very comprehensive video it’s much appreciated! The 1980s was one of the longest periods of Tory rule with not a single labour government. Not to mention the fact that MBT-80 probably the most famous cancelled british land vehicle was initiated in 1979 under Labour Jim Callaghan and cancelled under the Thatcher government. Not only did Thatcher slice apart the Royal Navy, she was also responsible for the privatisation of BAe and British shipbuilders and the subsequent collapse in manufacturing that followed. Now yes Labour have made many terrible defence decisions in the past, the most infamous being the 1966 defence white paper but also some incredible ones like the construction of the Queen Elizabeth class and Operation Journeyman, Jim Callaghans sucessful attempt to prevent an Argentine invasion of the Falklands. But so have the Torys, the 2010 white paper that crippled the navy for decades to come, Thatchers withdrawal of Falklands guard ships and attempted sale of half the navy to Argentina and of course the cancellation of MBT-80 and many other armoured vehicles in the 1980s. We can’t just blame Labour governments for bad defence decisions out of ignorance or carelessness becuase it doesnt send the right message or come across well at all. Messing up defence procurement is a Bipartisan British specialty that both Tory and Labour are responsible for.
Queen Elizabeth class that isn't nuclear powered so costs a fortune to run and had no aircraft for almost a decade because our Harriers were sold to the yanks for scrap lol. Great decisions by the Labour Government there
Seriously, and saying that there hasn't been any investment since? We kept the ACA funded, when every other nation (Germany and Italy) refused to fund it, and it went on to become the Eurofighter. We're a tier 1 manufacturing partner for the F-35, we developed the ASRAAM when other countries dropped out (though Germany did later create the IRIS-T as a result of their initial cooperation) and are paving the way for 6th generation aircraft with FCAS/GCAP/Tempest.
@@anotherdarcy every single project you have just listed is one of collaboration. The British defence industry is still an impressive beast that can play a major role… However it absolutely pales in comparison to the sovereign defence industry of the 1960s. To put it in perspective back then almost every commonwealth nation had former British ships in service, the aviation industry had designed the TSR-2 probably the best aircraft every designed that never saw service, we had just built the Kestrel the preliminary to the harrier and were ready to start building the HS-p1154 a incredible after burning supersonic variant. All while we were also collaborating on the most ambitious civilian airliner project of all time, Concorde. Not being funny mate but BAe now is a shadow compared to the titans that were British Aircraft Corporation, Hawker siddley, Vickers and the hundreds of shipyards in operation.
@@finol6127 I'd argue its unfair to call BAE so simply a shadow compared to previous companies; BAE isn't limited to the UK; it has operations spanning the UK, US, Australia, Sweden & Saudi Arabia. BAE produces the Bradley, AMPV, CV90, Archer, M109, M109A7, just to name a few products. In regards to the ships, Australia and Canada are set to adopt the Type 26, with Australia also planning on adopting the SSN-AUKUS in regards to submarines. To top all of this off, BAE has just recently acquired Ball aerospace. In my opinion, we're doing pretty well, all things considered.
@@anotherdarcy that is true and BAe is currently a successful company however much of its ‘wide spread’ is through subsidiaries that barely even resemble the original company. BAe systems USA is practically its own entity and is a product or modern corporatism, it has very little to do with the actual British state or defence industry and at this point is practically just a name. Same with BAe Australia, everything manufactured down under with ownership tied to Australia not the UK. BAe is much more of a corporate defence business than a national defence industry for the UK.
I only have played the UK line up till 5.3. Partially because I got the TOG II and have a couple of premiums that are close to its BR. But even before I got that Tank, I really enjoyed the going through the British tech tree from rank 1 to rank 3. This might be the best of tanks, but they have character, and are super fun to play. Only early Tech tree that has better rounds is the Swedish tech tree. The APCR rounds in rank 1 to 3 are amazing.

Other nations' strategy is to have a strategic depth of back-up vehicles; the British strategy (even before they invented Chobham armour) has been not to lose a single tank in combat, if they can help it.
I mean the awful map design hurts every tank that isn’t purpose built to snipe
1:22:05 I am a warrior gunner IRL and I can tell you that it could be so much worse.
If you fire all 6 rounds you have to do a complete unload and reload which takes over 30 seconds to do, you have to fire 3 rounds, insert a new clip, rinse and repeat. If you fire 4 rounds and load a new clip you have a gap in feed and the 30 second reload starts again.
The none stabilised gun irl is worthless on the move, you may as well strap the cannon to a speed boat, you’d have about the same accuracy. What’s funny is that it actually has a stabilised sight but you can only use it in “surveillance mode” it’s just a big fat tease
I’ve just completed an exercise with the Prince of wales so I’m basically the most important person on the internet also 😂
Anyway time to go leak warrior documents
I know the British wanted it to work even after a nuke went off but come on like the 2 most basic things that IFV's had at the time including Russian BMP-2 and 3 which is an automatic loading system and a stabilized gun, but they couldn't even do that pretty embarrassing imo
@@gamingwolf6735if smt is electronic then it won’t work after the nuke bc they produce a big ass emp
@@meepthunder8060 I know that why i said

ever since i started playing britain … it’s been PURE suffering.
@@dr1Voss48 You put it into words perfectly. By far the most eloquent comment I've seen on TH-cam in a while.
@@agiliteka Cheers, I appreciate it. Thank goodness that damned English degree came in handy for once.
The moment you described the Archer as being "shite" i instantly subscribed and liked the video. Cheered me up for sure hearing that
Fun fact, the Polish Firefly actually isn't a carbon copy of the tech tree Firefly.
The Warrior upgrade with a stabilizer and improved gun would be very much appreciated, in addition to Scorpion light tanks
The reason behind the warrior being like it is is bc it was built to withstand the EMP made by a nuke so they didn’t want anything electronic on it
@@meepthunder8060 Yes but it would still be nice to have the Warrior CSP.
@@Th3Bishop3or the desert warrior upgrade that was made for Kuwait
Agree with the Scorpion and also Scimitar light tanks need to be added.
@@raz_hz got what u wanted
I'm convinced if we had better/bigger maps, the British would be competent. Every time I'm in a city map at tier 6, I just spawn as the warrior. Especially when everything can 1 shot you, and you often need to place 2 shots on tanks to get a kill.
That "no, not Prince Harry's son" got me cracked up real good
I actually enjoy the archer and gun carrier, just the best vehicle to play when listening to British Grenadiers, other than the tog 2 ofc
No better feeling in Warthunder than doing a 180 noscope with the archer at top speed
Centurion mk.10 sits at 8.0 with APDshellshatterS and Olifant mk.1 sits at 8.3 with APDFSDS LRF, and better mobility on pretty much the same platform. Great BR balancing gaijin!
Well, you forgot about one problem...
The olifant can see 9.3 premium hell, at the very least uptiers in the mk10 are mildly "rare"
i wish the mk.10 had at least the AP shell as well... having just the APDS as an anti tank round is just really annoying. mk3 with it's AP is way stronger even at 8.0
same for leo one and turm 3
you get the vickers mk1 tho, one of the best 8.0 tanks imo. Got me my first nuke
Crusader saint, matilda hedgehog, and churchill arve is a hell of a lowtier grinding experience
When I started going down the British line, the Gun Carrier was one of my fav early vehicles. The armour was great and the gun was fantastic.
I am so frustrated with this game, but ya clip makes me realise ive got a lot more suffering to come.😅😂 Great Video .
I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but I love British humor. Amazing video, really interesting, I can’t wait to see the next one.
Only downside are small caliber guns, so its unusable against most ground vehicles.
yeah, the early armored cars are pretty good actually
A worthy successor to Oxy's dated Britain guide series. Thank you!

59:06 FIRE 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Edit: 1:42:12 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ratel 90 is one of my most played vehicles in the game when it was 6.0. Sure it's huge but the gun is uptier proof.
The Warrior has been the biggest surprise in the game for me. Its mobility is better than a Marder and it carries twice as many ATGMS. The fire rate is abysmal on the 30mm cannon but it hits hard enough.
I honestly enjoy the little history you included with tanks :D
As soon as the british have something working for them gaijin nerfs it somehow
the conq is probably my favorite in the tree
it’s absolute heresy that you think the centurion is mediocre, but at the same time it is criminal how many br increases they’ve suffered
king charles
I'm probably just bitter; got used to clubbing dumb Tiger 2 players with my APDS, and now I have to fight actually good tanks/players☠️
I've played war thunder for 2years and got top tier Britain in air now I've just begun my grind for ground
I remember during the british tank CBT it would regularly be one team of the UK vs everyone else combined, and I dont think we ever lost a single game. There were multiple games we won without the enemy even scoring a single kill.
Surprisingly, the Vickers Mk1 has a 5.0s reload when aced, meaning it will out reload most things it faces
It would be good if they were to add the Boxer in as the top tier IFV for the UK (and germany). The UK will be getting their first Boxers in 2024 but the Australians have been using them for a while already. And yeah the ajax and chally 3 would be cool to see in the future too
To be fair all the challenger 3 is,is a black night and 2e mixed together
Black nights protection 2e speed
It would definitely have a br of 12.0 or 12.3
Awesome Video!
I appreciate the effort that went into it. It has lots of interesting historical facts and useful information.

I would like to bring it to your attention that you stated that the Vickers Mk. 3 were bought by Kuwait and sold and licensed to India where they are produced as the Vijayanta 1:24:11
However, these sales were for the Vickers Mk. 1. You did mention that the Vijayanta is a variant of the Vickers Mk. 1 1:34:21
The Vickers Mk. 3 were sold to Kenya, the Vickers Mk. 3N "Eagle" were sold to Nigeria, and the Vickers Mk. 3i and Vickers Mk. 3m achieved no sales.

King Charles! The British Empire will RISE AGAIN!!!
I have to disagree with your thoughts on the churchill 1, if you angle it and keep it moving it is impenetrable, if you take time with it, it’ll be a fun tank when you learn how to play it
He said thendaimler is bad as well seem skill issues or he just dont know how to play it
Blood, sweat and tears is the best way to describe the British in this game
I always fiNd Gaijin's definition of "realism" to be entertaining.
I play it up to 5.0 and still do well
To this day I have not a clue how and why the tall ass SARC VI just refuses to fall over on inclines, like surely its centre of mass can't be that low
3:48; Stuart tanks in a nutshell (they mysteriously disintegrate when they stop moving for any reason.)
0:06 Mad lad just casually in intro referenced soviets as Vatniks, you do know how to get your Eastern European subs :)

48:58 The Centurion Mk.I got moved back to 6.0, so ever so slightly better then the 6.3
1:00:26 And the G6 Rhino was moved from 7.0 to 6.7 in RB, but very funni to obliterate IS-3's through the side when up-tiered
King Charles! Great video, would love to see one like it for Sweden ;)
I have the Challenger DS and I quite enjoy it along with the G-lynx.

29:13 the Australians put the mprtars on, not the British
For 5.3 mediums... I hate the comet. It has mobility that is worse than the other option, though not by a lot. The armour is enough to make it harder for planes to strafe kill you, but it's not good enough to make any difference with other tanks. But worst, the gun is significantly worse. The shells have much less penetration, which means that you're essentially forced to use the apds since the apcbc has such little pen. That's my 2 cents anyway, I'll take the challenger or even the avenger any day.
Always appreciate your sense of humour
Just a comment on the Vijayanta: The statcard shows stock values, so it has the same engine as the Vickers Mk.1 (538hp stock, 608hp spaded). It's just a Mk.1 with the M456 HEAT-FS tbh
And a better apds shell
Damn, that was one informative package. Hope you enjoyed Lord of the Rings, even if it only had King Aragorn instead of Charles.

Gotta disagree with the chieftains man… It has its flaws but its gun is definitely not one of them. 120mm apds post pen hits incredibly hard and its definitely not the same as the centurions now that they use tungsten alloy apds
Great vid sako 👍🏻
Edit: King Charlie
I’ve enjoyed playing both 5.3 and all of the centurions, the apds might shatter some times but I find with a cautious playstyle and careful aim I regularly get between 5-10 kills in matches. The main problem you find is the stabilisers incentivise rushing and with bad reverse speeds to boot that will get you killed
I think its criminal to not mention that the Vickers Mk.1 has a monstrous 6.5 second reload, and a 5 second reload with an ace crew.
That thing is an awesome urban brawler, with high speeds and a quick reload to compensate for low spall damage
I also think the hulldown armour on the chieftains have not been done justice.

BEGINNERS GUIDE TO THE BRITISH TECH TREE
step 1: Don't even bother to start British tree unless you have strong faith on them
I am a British tank main too, I can perform much superior in other nation's tanks.
That picture of Hammond is scary lol
If there are any military geeks in the comments plz let me know what depleted uranium rounds do asking for a friend
DU is a much more dense metal, compared to tungsten, so for the same shape of dart, it will weigh more. So a DU round fired at the same velocity as a Tungsten round, will penetrate more armour, due to the mass x velocity energy formula
What a chad responding to a question in the comments of an old video
I haven't gotten further than 2.7 but I notice that there are always a shaytload of smoke to retreat through
5.3 Britain is my favorite lineup. The 17pdr eats tigers and panthers for breakfast. Only lineup I enjoy getting uptiers in

Great work!
The Fox has arrived!
KING CHARLES. Could you make this an ongoing series with other nations as well. Love these types of videos.
I started with America and swapped to Britain once i hit the paywall and the 3-in gun carrier is good if you play it like a 105 Sherman, same angling and all.
I started with British nation because I wanted Spitfire, but I don’t know why I kept grinding for British. I’m at rank vi right now both ground and air.
Already research and bought all the spitfire. British early jet are such a pain, so slow but I do enjoy swift
