the begleitpanzer has a stabilized commander view, so this in combination with a laser range finder makes it even more dangerous.
Brilliant video, very informative! The longer gun on the 2a6 increases pen by giving the round a longer acceleration distance, allowing it to hit higher speeds to reach out and touch things with more accuracy at longer range, and with increased speed comes more penetration. I hope this helps :)
I love how Gaijin added the ostwind II, *WHICH NEVER EXISTED,* to replace the Coelian, which did exist with a wood turret
And yet they refuse to add the ZSU-25-2 for the soviets (not sure if it existed in any form, think there was plans but thats it).

As a german who understands them, the main reason Rank 2 tanks are so hard to pronounce is because they are massive abbreviation of their designation. Their full names basicly describe the entire tank including their role on the battlefield

@@patrickb1303 Gewehr means gun, they’d use Kanone or Geschütz for tanks, Gewehr is used for infantry guns or light arms, like STG 44, Sturmgewehr 44, 44 being the year it’s made like MP40, MachinenPistole 40. There isn’t much a difference really between Pistole and Gewehr, they mean the same thing but classify different calibers, Geschutz mainly for larger guns or guns for destruction and artillery and Kanone for tank destruction. Pistole is sub guns, Gewehr is Like assault rifle kind of stuff.

For guns / field guns there are several... kannone is one, typically implying direct fire purpose, haubitze is howitzer/ indirect fire purpose.
German is a beautiful language especially when it comes to describe military terminology, it is often times much more nuanced and specific than english.

I really struggled with British tanks, barely getting a kill each match at tier 1. Switched to German and I went 7-0 and could survive for ages, even under fire from two tanks at once.

I would like to add that the Begleit 57 can be an amazing SPAA, the HEVT has a maximum range of 5km, easily outranging the Gepard, which really helps against helicopters or aircraft with guided missiles. Its also pretty nice as first spawn to counter early air threads without trading in performance against ground targets like you would with dedicated SPAA.
Oh, and if you have your APHE and HEVT limited to 10 rounds, you need to restock them in the modification window, its an old issue with this vehicle specifically.

Incredibly good video! I love your content. I recently got into war thunder as a new player, so the game is punishingly difficult. But watching your videos has definitely improved my gameplay, and made me enjoy the game much more! I just decided to grind through the German tech tree yesterday, so this video was a pleasant surprise to see!
You will have a lot of fun at ranks 4 and 5 where everyone exept germany gets cold war stuff and german tanks are only usable in downtiers
I am playing Warthunder for 1.5 years now. I started out with germany and got now all top tier vehicles. I didn't find germany to be the easiest starter nation. I'd rather go with russia. BUT I never played a game like WT before. Therefor I found the russian tanks easier since they can take a punch which I didn't exp with german tanks. This exp might be different though for someone who played a similar game before.
Well... German speakers can pronounce it as well as all nations that are close to german. :D
USA, Russia, and Germany are the best starter nations for ground
@@obi-wankenobi5766 German is definitely the hardest among the three, pz3 and pz4 early model with short barrel really makes it hard for people to actually play with them
Germany is probably the best nation for "World of Tanks" refugees to start with.
Anyone can pronounce it, the tank names don't even contain the German sounds most foreigners struggle with. Just gotta get a German to tell you how to do it

The "pissed off German man" was actually Austrian lol. And I think the battle of Jutland was a huge kick in the teeth for the royal navy while being kind of a stalemate.

Now that I rewatched this video, I just noticed something. Not something to crazy but worth mentioning anyways: Panzer IV is actually more complicated and more expensive to produce than a Panther, especially the H variant

Considering the Germans weren't keeping up with attrition, cost was probably not the biggest issue. There's also fuel...
If you get your hands on the KV-IB it's absolutely one of the best tanks in the game. Smart gameplay makes it invincible in traditional engagements and can single handedly stall advances if the enemy doesn't know where to aim.
Absolutely hate it. Only getting uptiers in which i can‘t penetrate other kv-1s or even other tanks
@@bdmx8224 Story of my life with the Kv-1 s. Always only met them in downtier when they're flat out invulnerable to anything. I grind them out, buy them and..... magically only uptiers matches, where their armor is very vulnerable and they cannons sucks ass and can't penetrate anything.
@@glaurung_7967 i mean kv1b can be nice since it doesnt fight germans. Doesn‘t really matter though since the battle vs other russians is tracking and killing the barrel for like 5 minutes until somebody shows up who can either kill him or me 😂
Most of this is true but you missed on several gems of the tech tree.
Also, the Ostwind 2 is extremely effective. And so is the Kugelblitz, especially by not being a vulnerable open top. Coelian (now removed) is even better, as I'd say the 37mm is a better anti air gun than the 30mm just by not having a magazine to reload.
I wanted to add that there is still the panther 2, the tiger 2 with the big barrel and the aa tank that is based on a panther. They are not more to get but still they exist and I am happy to have them :)
As a German I have absolutley no Problem pronouncing the full names of the tanks, but I understand why nobody tries it, as we usually have long and complicated names for our Vehicles (In Terms of SdKfz etc.)
What gets me is that modern mbts are designed mainly to defend against chemical rounds something that isn't often used in other mbts compared to apfsds rounds to combat other armored tanks. Its mostly useful against man portable weapons which are required to us chem rounds due to size limitations. This feels like a reaction to the 60-80s where it was mainly heat shells being used to chew through heavy armor before composite was designed

@@KC4R2018 Wereboos died out in 2019 but people can't seem to accept that fact and have used the term and German playerbase as a strawman to compensate for the fact that they are shit players.

Germany only suffers in terms of player quality. It has one the the Worst player spreads i know of. The top players are absolutely Nuts at handling their machines while the bottom players are the reason germany suffers memes exist.

Ostwind II is bad for the sole reason of being too high risk (especially compared to the standard Ostwind) for the reward. The Kugelblitz is quite possibly the best SPAA the Germans have up until that point (for AA purposes) due to the high velocity cannons and relatively large explosive mass in each shell. Oh and it has a very high SL multiplier of 1.9 (190%) - with a cost of 1200SL stock (which in itself is still pretty damn competitive) that’s an absolute steal and joy of a vehicle

A tip for anyone wanting to play the stug dont try to push and be a breakthrough tank sit in a corner and ambush people
Or go up find a short wall sit behind it and shoot the enemie from almost complete safety the best map for this is the big japanese shrine map you can sit behind the low walls in the center of the map and pick off enemie turrets and upper hulls while they can barely shoot you
Stug and ASU on that map are #1 @sshole if they equipped with P2W bush camo. Cannot see them even though they are 0m from you

The tiger can be practically invincible if you know how to use it , I once took 10 hits from a jumbo and a spg, took out the spg and the jumbo took me out but I got enough sp from it for cas

The Tiger is an armored knight with a Hammer/pick. Deadly and well armored but not effective without men-at-arms (i.e other tanks) to support it.
It's a bad comparison. An armored knight was the absolute top of the cream, almost invulnerable without the right guns, still agile, and very deadly. The tiger wasn't as good or well rounded.

i remember a lifetime ago when you saw a Maus ingame you would type "Maus on Ping" in chat after pinging it, it took a few guys to take out a Maus. Made the game incredible fun.
This video shows the easiest case where you are NOT constantly matched to 1 rank higher by the matchmaker.

I enjoy watching War Thunder stuff more than playing. Playing is just a pain in the ass. I don't expect to not die but it'd be substantially more fun to see how one is supposed to do well than just getting sniped again and again by shit you can't see.
The roland 3 and VT-1 isn't just SAM's they are also ATGM HE, have overpressure nuked many toptier tanks who thought the tuna SAM was harmless
the Pz F2's gun was a PaK 30 or a PaK 40, i cant remember which one it was but it was VERY VERY good at nailing tanks at mid to far ranges, which is why its on a medium tank in WT. how ever it was very big and you couldnt carry many round due to their size. and the turret WAS STUPIDLY cramped, and the crew didnt like the fact that the turret was cramps and really only had room for two not three.

Performs between Soviet 57 mm Zis - 4 and 85 mm guns regarding armor piercing.
Turret already looked small for the short Howitzer

As one of the few Tiger players who know what I'm doing, the amount of times my fellow tigers will simply drive around a corner without even hesitating is infuriating.
The tiger h is incredibly good with a little bit of angling and its cannon is better due to the post pen as the panther and tiger can pen pretty much anything at any point at that br but obviously you can’t aim at a 70 degree 100 mm thick piece of armour and expect it to pen
Ironically enough the panzer 3 and 4 were unnecessarily overengineered to the point where the panther was literally faster to produce
german commanders guide 101: if you believe it'll kill then do so, no doubt of death of any second

Actually, I enjoy the tigers over the panthers, the reverse gear is great and the BOX hull make angling easy, and aiming for weak spots is a lot better with the 88, as you have the explosive filler to really exploit cupolas

don't listen to him, i instantly understood he doesn't know how to play the tiger as soon as he said "it's a brawling tank". Anyone who knows it will avoid brawling with it, it's just a risk where you'll end up getting destroyed most of the times.

actually, best grinding platoon is panther and tiger. tiger 1s pzgr is capable of obliterating anything it pens and panther is pretty weak untill you have researched almost all modules

something I'm surprised you didn't mention is the fact of just how cheap it is to repair german rank 7, with like maybe 2k SL per tank, that's the biggest win for me
In which world does their german rank 7 tanks have a repair cost of 2k. I mean yes they lowered the repair costs in the last few years from around 20k to 7k, but this is still far away from 2k. Not to mention that the winrates against Russia are very bad which means that you get overall less SL. In addition to that, the FlaRaRad is incredibly expensive for its capabilities.
Would prefer to play Russia. Lower Repair costs, better AA, and the T80 BVM is as good as the Leopard.
Watching the classic German tanks get nurfed made me cry the 🐅 and the 🐆 was so good back then

As a German main and a German I can agree that the tigger H1 is a very bad tank but I have been able to tank around of 6 to 7 shots before dying in it

Yeah, those goddamn light tanks are definately the issue. FR, light tanks are okay imo, just the fact that if you pick a 6.3 lineup you always play as a 7.3 lineup. And thats as expected not very fun where mobility, laser rangefinders, apfsds and atgms ignore armor like noones buisness and your tank only has armor and nothing else. Good video tho. Watched it a lot of times, mostly cuz its fun
For some reason panther and tiger are the opposites you say to me as tiger if placed good can tank nearly anything while panther literally suffers and is the vehicle that makes me say that german suffers
