For Tip #3: Don’t hit the brakes when you encounter an enemy, but don’t hold the “w” key either. Instead, let go of the “w” key and let your tank slowly drift to a stop. This will minimize the bounce in your gun. That’s actually what I did in the video at 1:54, although it wasn’t explained very well. Also, if you’re unable to penetrate an enemy frontally and you have no way of getting around to the side, shoot the enemy’s barrel which will disable it from firing.
US guns being physically incapable of taking out gun barrels: (fr every shot i fire that hits the barrel does NOTHING to it.... i can take out the breach which is just as effective tho so i guess no big deal?
Some vehicles (usually incredibly fast ones like the German Puma at 3.3) have what I call speed stabilization, where you're going so fast that the game doesn't have time to calculate the jerking of the suspension (or you're going so fast that you're skipping over bumps) so that the bounce is very minimal and you can fire on the move very easily. I should also note that some vehicles at low tier (usually American Sherman's and the chaffe) have a built in stabilizer that stabilized your gun up to a certain speed so going at that speed when you expect to find enemies (middle of the map or you hear engines) can bring you a lot of advantage in firing on the move.
additional tip: to make firing on the move easier without a stabilizer you can research the suspension modification since it makes the ride relatively smoother
Frontally, sometimes shooting out the barrel is your best bet. For side shots, if you don’t think you can oneshot, sometimes going for the breach is better than the gunner. Against people rounding corners, the front sprocket of the side facing you. A bit dependent on what you’re fighting. But can be easier to hit than the barrel at times.

I'd suggest crippling a turretless tank by taking out it's ability to move. If you don't know where the weak points are then destroy the barrel. The frontal armor is most likely insanely thick. The sides though are gonna be your best bet at taking one out
one if the things that massively helped me in urban combat is, if in doubt just hold the angle, i remember when i was getting used to ground rb i kept on blindly charging and dying to people around corners, and this helped me to slow down my very aggresive playstyle
Re Tip 3, just let go of the throttle, or your W key. Don't need to keep holding it, in fact it can be detrimental to continue holding it rather than letting go.
"You should've gone for the head" - Thanos. Always go for the head if you know your gun can pen it. Especially if you have HEAT, which has high pen but sub-par post pen damage.
I think it’s also important to note the position of the enemy gunner, cause I’ve gone for turret shots so many times with AP shells and just killed the loader/commander.
Amazing tips and well made video, I have one more tip to add: Be a rat, no matter what tank you are, take tight corners or find shadowed/dark areas near enemy movement routes to hide in. I did this with my tiger 1, 6 kills. Be a ratty rat.
Great Video, however instead of calling the 4th Point "Flanking" i'd call it brawling since flanking is when you try to get behind or atleast next to enemy support lines to cut them off and stop them from resupplying tanks to the caps
Great video, I do all these things when I play, it works. Also, spawn camping is apart of the game, abuse it. nobody is gonna hesitate to do it to you.
maybe u should try captain view where u press z to zoom when at third person view , its very useful when corner engage, it allow u to aim quicker since third person view will be block by corner building while u actually can fire and ur turret and UFP already exposed, but captain view are more close to ur gun barrel and ur corner view barely being block
Solid video. Basically everything I know about CQB in 3k hours of suffering in this game. Only bit I'd add is when shooting casemates, tanks without turrets, shooting their engine is a good method of shutting them down. Going for barrels is sometimes all you can do in a situation and in unlucky scenarios where you're surely done for, fight until you can no longer. Sometimes your attempts to extend your life are met with teammates coming to your aid and saving you.
As TD german player i love overlooking a possible flanking spot and snipe a (i fiddling hate it) ASU 57 or random enemy tank tried to flank around. Or R3 tried to do tomfoolery
Ah yes employing the ancient chinese tactic of running around a pillar to escape your killer i see. One thing you don't mention in the video that i still think is important is what tank you should choose if you want to do urban combat. Stuff that has a stabilizer is better for urban combat than the ones that don't for example or having good turret rotation or reverse speed to prevent flanking a fast reload is also prefered.
See, if the Panzer IV knew that the T-34 was faster than him, he would've reverse sidescraped using the building when you were chasinf him, catching you off-guard and killing you
On the account of rule #10, with tanks with extremely high penetrating APDS or APFSDS rounds, shooting the rear of a tank through the engine will oftentimes one shot the crew, as the round will have enough penetration to go clear through the engine deck (creating a lot of spalling) and straight through the crew compartment. This is oftentimes the better place to shoot a tank in the rear when you have said ammunition loaded.
6:45 SideScraping is bad because they have a higher chance of hitting your tracks or frontal armor at a flat angle, do what I call "FrontScraping" instead, its basically the same as SideScraping except you use your frontal armor instead, its better because its more reliable and makes it easier for you to reverse out of a position or peak out. It even works at top tier with some vehicles that dont have their tracks out as much like the Abrams.
The main issue with front scraping is that it takes longer to get back into cover, whereas with sidescraping you can quickly reverse out, fire, and forward drive back into cover.
@@27jagers That won't work well because a lot of tanks such as the jumbo or panther will get penned in their side even at such an extreme angle, but those two tanks have very good sloped front plates, and that's where FrontScraping comes into play. Really depends on the vehicle your playing.

And another that you kinda started but could clarify is if someone is behind you don't panic butt armor is good or better 90% of the time stay cool and don't show your side. I have gotten countless kills on tanks that I flank that show there side cause they panic to try and get there front around to get me when if they stayed still they probably would have survived. Cruise control is very effective at keeping your gun from wobbleing a lot. When expecting to face enemies it is a good strategy to choose a constant speed with it where your gun can still be kept somewhat stable. It is important to switch gears instead of tapping w or s if you want to speed up or slow down. They cause mutch less wobble and can give you the few seconds of advantage you need to shoot before your enemy does.
13:18 or you can just go to another tech tree, preview the tank you're having a hard time trying to destroy and use the armour penetration system to know certain weak spots or just look at its' stats. Takes less time on going to a browser
i just hold W and press ESCAPE, that way the tank keeps going and its better than cruise control because it changes gears as needed when finding hills.
I really agree with this video the tips are good like really good as a idiot i flanked the points so we could win but then got killed because i was a light tank .thanks for the tips😃
That was an impressive match right there. I thought stopping and firing was always the way to go, but i guess i was proven wrong. Thank you for this great demonstration.
as a td player only thing makes me get so many kills more than a regular tank is stupid players who doesent know what hes even doing i literally get minimum 3-5 kills before i die in jagdpanther
Hey Sako👋! Love your videos too! They helped me learn the game a lot when I was a beginner, and you’re one of the youtubers that inspired me to start a channel of my own. Nice to know you liked mine too.
Sherman frontal armor? What's that? *Laughs in german 75mm long barrel* German tanks have to take these tips differently. Showing any side armor in a panzer 4 and sometimes 3 is a death sentence. So you always have to peek before moving out and need to sidescrape constantly. And for that panzer in tip 10, his beat shot would have been the turret ring. The engine and turret were bad shots due to the engine eating it and the turret not having the best angle, those t-34 turrets are harder to pen than you think and that turret ting is one of the largest at the tier. As a low tier german player, using your good gun and decent turret traverse will get you the advantage in most duels. Let them come to you. Seriously german guns are deadly. This is especially true in the armored casemates line of german tanks. You have very good to incredible frontal armor and incredible guns. So find a long alleyway or street and hold it. If you hear someone coming to flank you, pull back and get ready. You have the better position, they have to come at you before one of your teammates gets there cause their allies are either behind you or a long way down the road, but also sometimes behind you. But most of the time they'll just charge you not expecting you to be ready for them.
I love how you made this in one continuous battle and not in seperate clips so we get the full understanding! It seems like im the only one that noticed. Also, i love this part 8:28 😂 Edit: You had a perfect opportunity at 10:40 to make tip 10.5; turn your entire vehicle 180⁰ so the enemys shell gets caught in your engine and doesnt have a chance of even penetrating your front.
Lol that’s a funny strategy but I have seen it work before, there’s nothing scarier than turning around a corner and seeing an IS-2 reversing towards you.
only a russia main could give amazing advice such as use gunner view! as he just runs around bouncing every f shot and third person instakilling everyone :)))))
The r3 double cannon is awesome to rush points and defend, 100% of game everybody is flanking and no one is seen on the points, literally everyone flanks and goes everywhere but the point
It’s always weird when that happens, like isn’t the point of the game to capture the point? But yeah I’ve seen games like that, in that case it can actually be good to rush the point.
not disagreeing but on tanks like a panther D, perhaps going for the engine when attacking from the rear is best as their turret is so slow they can't get around to you fast enough and now they can't run away.
All great tips to be honest. Although the part about not going for caps I disagree. It could be great for flanking, but they could also very easily get you without teammates as backup. How many hours do you have in the game?
I should have been a bit more clear in the video, but I only go between caps when I play medium tanks or slow light tanks/fast heavy tanks. If I play fast light tanks I will try to rush the cap, if I play slow heavy tanks I’ll stick with my team, and tank destroyers are for sniping. I have been playing the game for 3 years, but since I play on the Gaijin Launcher it doesn’t show my hours. I am level 70 in game though, so I’ve probably played over a thousand hours at least.
While objective is important, eliminating enemies trying to go for the objective is also important as well, straight face to face combat with the enemy at caps usually results in one team dominating the other. I get like 1 or 2 kills with this. To me the best would be to choose an alternative route like the one in the vid and head to any objective being captured by enemies, higher chance to catch more enemies by surprise and shoot their sides
Yo, u really like your videos, in your opinion what's the best top tier nation, I'm 5.7 Russia but I don't like russian top tier, should I continue with Russia or start with USA
I know this feels like a bad answer, but every nation has its own strengths and weaknesses. I personally think Russia and Sweden have the best top tier, but Germany and Japan are pretty good too. Ultimately though, it’s best to just pick a nation that you enjoy rather than what other people consider “good”, because you always play better with vehicles you like.
For tip #10 I wouldn't say you should always do that you should always use it. In the example you showed a shot for the gunner by the pz4 would definitely be the right choice, because u already saw him and ur turret was almost swinged towards him. But in other situations shooting the engine from behind is better. Not only if it's a tank destroyer with no or slow turret, but also if it's a fast tank thag could runaway and cause trouble or if it's a tank with good frontal armor as he could turn around and be hard to pen until he reloades his gunner. Also it depends on the round, with the t34 i would confidently go for the hull shot on the pz4 as the round has som much tnt that id be 100% hed die in one shot.
True, that’s why if you know the tank you’re facing, you can shoot that specific tank’s weak spot. If you don’t know what tank you’re facing, at low and mid tiers it’s usually best to shoot the turret.

Have other tips but its more of hill combat than cqb but interms of cqb you have done a great job with this video.
Can you do a video on open space combat?
Great tip video! this is perfect for me, as I struggle with urban combat in my Shermans and M10. Ty! :>
I disagree with your spawn camping.
I made this comment to boost your video in the algorithm, hope it helps.
8:13 massive W for choice of browser
13:18 or you can just go to another tech tree, preview the tank you're having a hard time trying to destroy and use the armour penetration system to know certain weak spots or just look at its' stats. Takes less time on going to a browser
You rat and play the same ways I do.
Thanks for the vid, because now I can show it to my friends so they stop asking me how I do what I do.
another tip, if youre a long term player, bind a key for cruise control. mine is set to E and i dont have to hold W the whole way to a cap point.
i just hold W and press ESCAPE, that way the tank keeps going and its better than cruise control because it changes gears as needed when finding hills.
I use the headphones ability, to help me while playing an SPAA. Due to this, I am very good at it.
I really agree with this video the tips are good like really good as a idiot i flanked the points so we could win but then got killed because i was a light tank .thanks for the tips😃
Also, try to hide your gun when peeking at corners it might get shot and taken out.
That was an impressive match right there. I thought stopping and firing was always the way to go, but i guess i was proven wrong. Thank you for this great demonstration.
in a game where infantry does not exist? In my m22 I AM THE INFANTRY!
Good video can you make a similar urban fighting video for 8.0?
After countless prayers to the snail his wish shall be granted, sooner or later the snail will answer!
as a td player only thing makes me get so many kills more than a regular tank is stupid players who doesent know what hes even doing i literally get minimum 3-5 kills before i die in jagdpanther
Hey man, thanks for the useful tips. Btw, are you Malaysian ? I couldn't help but notice the Malaysian flag on the Sherman lol
Yep, well spotted!🇲🇾
nice video!
Hey Sako👋! Love your videos too! They helped me learn the game a lot when I was a beginner, and you’re one of the youtubers that inspired me to start a channel of my own. Nice to know you liked mine too.
@@27jagers glad you likey vids😄 keep up the good work, some very good tips in the vid. Subbed! 👍
I already do this stuff but I clicked on the video to make sure.
2:20 buy transmission modification it will help u guys alot
I’m an American 🇺🇸 player so stabilizer
good advices but i couldnt get why you have that less subs
Sherman frontal armor? What's that? *Laughs in german 75mm long barrel*
German tanks have to take these tips differently.
Great tips there, the turret ring can be hard to hit at range but if you can hit it it’s almost always a guaranteed kill against most tanks.
sherman frontal armor? "laughs in sherman 76mm"
also sherman got no side armor too, even with the jumbo any tank in it's br can easily pen the side
@@an2939 and quite a few Sherman's advertise their ammo racks when you get alongside em.
@@JIKwood only the 75mm have side ammo racks i think?
Tip #12: make your engine quietter in audio options.
good video
thats not a weird hit box that you hit, its a skill issue
Thank you bro,im gonna finish the german tech now
The Pz IV had the reaction time of a slug
Thank you for the tips which will help me.
Always rush captures points ez money
I love how you made this in one continuous battle and not in seperate clips so we get the full understanding! It seems like im the only one that noticed. Also, i love this part 8:28 😂
Edit: You had a perfect opportunity at 10:40 to make tip 10.5; turn your entire vehicle 180⁰ so the enemys shell gets caught in your engine and doesnt have a chance of even penetrating your front.
Lol that’s a funny strategy but I have seen it work before, there’s nothing scarier than turning around a corner and seeing an IS-2 reversing towards you.
@@27jagers So true, lol
@@27jagers WAIT NO! The TOG II reversing is 10x more scary. I always find the turret traverse in that thing to be so fast.
only a russia main could give amazing advice such as use gunner view! as he just runs around bouncing every f shot and third person instakilling everyone :)))))
he isn't a Russia main. He is a German main at top tier. He is just playing a different country in this game.
Thank you for this video
not disagreeing but on tanks like a panther D, perhaps going for the engine when attacking from the rear is best as their turret is so slow they can't get around to you fast enough and now they can't run away.
True, although it could be a Panther A running jungle camo which I believe is identical to the Panther D’s default camo.
Great tips! I learned #3 the hard way
me with 3000 hours watching this… hmmmm
thank you so much for the tip with the "C" key, I have searched so long for the key bind
Awesome tips, keep up the good work!
The first practical advice video.
All great tips to be honest. Although the part about not going for caps I disagree. It could be great for flanking, but they could also very easily get you without teammates as backup. How many hours do you have in the game?
He's level 70, been playing for some years...
@@27jagers.
Im the same man, i start playing it when we just have plane to play i think i'm lv 80 now
While objective is important, eliminating enemies trying to go for the objective is also important as well, straight face to face combat with the enemy at caps usually results in one team dominating the other. I get like 1 or 2 kills with this. To me the best would be to choose an alternative route like the one in the vid and head to any objective being captured by enemies, higher chance to catch more enemies by surprise and shoot their sides
Only if CAS didn't exist
Thanks for the advice
I memorised the stats of nearly every tank without trying to memorise them...
I wish I had that kind of memory in school
Yo, u really like your videos, in your opinion what's the best top tier nation, I'm 5.7 Russia but I don't like russian top tier, should I continue with Russia or start with USA
I know this feels like a bad answer, but every nation has its own strengths and weaknesses. I personally think Russia and Sweden have the best top tier, but Germany and Japan are pretty good too.
Ultimately though, it’s best to just pick a nation that you enjoy rather than what other people consider “good”, because you always play better with vehicles you like.
@@27jagers but aren't the leopards and the Abrams better?
If you don’t know what tank you’re facing, at low and mid tiers it’s usually best to shoot the turret.
was here since ur 371 sub
Appreciate it bro👍
Tip 1: Russian bias
nice tips but are you planning to make tips for top tier as well?
Yep, probably I’ll do tips for around 8.0 BR since most people when they reach top tier will already know all the tips.
