I firmly believe tik tok street interview channels interviewing drunk college girls outside of bars has probably gotten more young men into red pill content than a million Andrew Tates could. They ask like 100+ people a night if they have cheated on their boyfriend and then edit a 3 minute video of the wildest responses and post it online where millions of insecure and impressionable teenagers see it.

Or you could say, younger people are more brainwashed by the rockerfella foundation, they only tell you what they want you to know, how many young people today know how to bake their own bread? less than 1% we couldn't surivie anything! This generation is egotistical and delusional, look around and all you'll see are fat, weak emotional men, emasculated men, poisoned by plastic, hormones out of wack, call me xer or xim!! Which means that either a bigger fraction of young people are well-educated, or just as many young people are equipped with knowledge and education that used to be limited to higher ed, but the few who are willfully ignorant are merely further divorced from reality. It sounds to me like both ends are growing more pronounced.

I’m a 22 year old male and it’s pretty miserable interacting with a lot of men my age. An alarming number of them seem to be too far gone on the right wing victim culture train. Excellent video! I'm a 25 year old woman and I almsot got fully sucked into the Gamergate/Reddit incel rabbit hole in high school. I went from watching Nintendo videos, death metal music videos, Rick & Morty clips, and dank memes (remember those All Star by Smash Mouth videos?) to watching "anti-SJW" content made by reactionaries like the Quartering and Sargon of Akkad. I literally thought that feminists and LGBT people were "ruining" Star Wars and gaming. I also got so obsessed with meme culture that I joined a hate forum that doxxes and harasses autistic people and trans people just because I thought that Tumblr and furry bashing was cool "for the memes."
Nearly 10 years after Gamergate and I fear that it's coming back. From the incelfluencers like Andrew Tate to the backlash against the live action Snow White movie to the GOP's attack on furries (which originated as an edgelord dudebro meme on 4chan to mock fandoms like furries, emos, Steven Universe fans etc) to nerd icon Elon Musk's takeover of Twitter, we are this close to a more dangerous and more hateful version of Gamergate. And as someone who lived through watching hate memes on the daily and being harassed by so-called geeks for being a woman and autistic during Gamergate, I NEVER want to live through that again.

I am explicitly teaching about the tech issues in my Gen Ed course at Temple University. I stay away from the political stuff, at least explicitly, because it is an easy way to shut down students, and so many of them are already apathetic, unwilling to even speak in class, or, for a few of the men, unable to even keep their phones put away even though I EXPLICITLY forbade their usage during class, telling my students that they have to be present in mind as well as body. It's only a 50 minute class and some cannot do it. They are so addicted.
Many of my students press back and explain that they are quite capable of multitasking and succeeding with their divided attention., which science shows is simply not true.
They are receptive to the notion of loneliness and disconnection, but also think that "parents just don't understand" them. It is really complex. It would be amazing (though sadly not worth your time) if one of you sat in on the course because of what you are discussing. Too often the Bill Mahers and such of the world- Caitlin Flanagan, too- make these broad sweeping judgments about college students without actually spending time on college campuses and it is so annoying (you are NOT doing that, let me say for the record)

Technology isn't the problem here though. Tech is a tool, nothing more. A tool that reactionaries have taken massive advantage of to spread their garbage far and wide, which is not helped by the algorithms that constantly push this crap to the front page because engagement ensures profit, but it is still just a tool. Technology is not the cause of these deep seated issues, capitalism is.

This. Me being a woman, I was surprised that I ended up believing the incel and Gamergate bullshit. I became involved in several "dank meme" moments like the McDonalds Szechuan Sauce incident and shitposting on Reddit about how smart I am because I watch Rick and Morty and listen to Radiohead blah blah blah that type of neckbeard shit but this led me to join Kiwi Farms because I thought that people making fun of furries and Tumblr SJWs was funny at the time (and became the biggest regret of my life, I hardly even posted on that site). I went from watching Chadtronic and Vinesauce to watching Rucka Rucka Ali and Filthy Frank to watching shit like Nerdrotic and Ethan Van Sciver in a matter of days. Thinking about my teenage years makes me sick to this day. But in the end I learned that it was a toxic mindset and I quickly got out at the same speed as how I got in. And seeing how Elon Musk turned out years later and the allegations against Justin Roiland, it all makes sense now.

I've seen teenage males emboldened to be horrendously misogynistic and verbally abusive in public here in the UK, like I never thought I'd see. 😕

The mainstream is advocating female sexual immorality as the key to undoing the female oppression of history. Except young men and boys to be on their worst behavior when there is not a single faction of the left with a single shred of resistance to the encouragement of sexual immorality in women.

So Oldy here. I grew up in the 60s so have seen vast changes but I've managed to keep up with most. What I feel empathy for is the Younger generations as they are now facing a Lack of time. We were lucky we had time to wait and think through what we saw on TV or heard on Radio in our Family Bubble then the next day discuss it with our Peers armed with out families take on events. Now it's the Individual being shown Advertising 24/7 and access to endless Media, News Entertainment etc and immediately sharing that with their peer group which will be a defined bubble by the time they are in their teens. So no Filters, No time for Critical Thinking and because there is TOO much information thrown at people they become tribal to try and make sense of their world. Stupidity and Immaturity Rate and that is clearly shown in MSM/Cable and on the Net. Advertising is everything and everyone has to perform to be noticed. Children can have a Phone from a young age for Safety but not an Internet connected one until they are in their teens and they have been taught to critically think through what they are seeing. They can go on a Computer at home to do Schoolwork with hopefully some type of Parental Filter. Advertising is Given too much access and Creedence. It's simply has only two tricks Indoctrination and Annoyance. Limit Advertising and give People time to think.
