“I have respect for vegans but…” that’s just a nice way of saying I don’t care about what you have to say, I’ll continue being a disingenuous animal eater because Im too comfortable with my habits
I have respect for vegans but… i was a vegetarian for some time (not vegan) and found that i was healthier and felt better eating meat. I had more energy, and feel it nourishes me much better than a plant based diet can. Everyone is different and have different dietary preferences and requirements. Stop imposing your preference onto everyone else and trying to make everyone vegan.
@@rudy8409 feelings arent evidence. The overwhelming scince demonstrates well planned plant based diets are healthier. But thats actually irrelevant becuase Veganism is about ethics, not diet. And nobody is making you go vegan, thats impossible. How about you stop putting pigs in gas chambers. Youre imposing your oppression and sexual abuse on animals
@@rudy8409The most important thing is to plan. Meat is much more calorie dense than beans or tofu. Eating a healthy plant based diet necessitates eating a larger volume of whole foods, so if you ever try again, make sure you're eating the same daily calories you're used to. People who don't have a strong enough motive to be vegan, and just do it because it's a trend or want to go on a diet, tend to not plan and then fall off, beacuse well, trends change all the time, and there's only so much time that one can "go on a diet". But veganism is an ethical position against animal exploitation. Only those who truly feel that postion in their hearts can be motivated to act accordingly. When people say "i was vegan for a month" what they should say is "i ate a vegan compatible diet for a month". They weren't vegan, they just tried to act as one, and it's hard to try to be someone you're not.
Hi Ed! Don't know if you read these... I am an English teacher and I've been using this video for the past couple of weeks to teach my students about logical fallacies and how to debate. It's been particularly useful because the vast majority of my students are meat eaters. The two adjectives used to describe you most have been 'calm' and 'prepared'... (at least a few of my students also mentioned 'handsome'!)... Both of my sons are already vegan and I have been trying for their sakes... Now that I've watched several more of your videos, I can't eat meat anymore. I think the truth of the thing is that the only honest answer for eating meat if you're educated, is that your pleasure outweighs the rights of animals to survive... all other arguments fall apart. I can't do it... I get more pleasure from allowing animals to live.

@nebulaaah that Mike is an absolute t**t. He even proved how good vegan sausages are, before trying to back track after being told the sausages he'd tried were vegan, yet before being told he said they were very tasty.

@@SuperVegasvince That's hilarious, thank you. The "vegan food paradox" in action; it's simultaneously the most delicious and disgusting thing depending on if they know it's vegan.
Why meat eaters always get bent out of shape for calling vegan sausage a sausage? Why they have no problem to call a cow "veal" or a pig "pork" and "bacon", argue that too then. 🙄
I think you're missing something. The issue with "vegan sausage" is that a sausage is thought of as with meat, ergo, a vegan sausage can't exist. Although I eat meat, I don't get the problem though. My dad was bitching about this exact thing not too long ago, even though it's obviously just a question of marketing. "rolled plants and chemicals" simply doesn't sound as good.

That Ed contradicts himself, all the chemicals put into meat when vegetables are all cropped sprayed apples ,oranges and lemons are injected with all sorts to make them last longer on supermarket shelves, so Ed is whistling in the dark the idiot and sounds like he,s in early stages of dementia which you get on a vegan diet 😂😂😂😂
I've been vegan almost 6 and a half years. And I cannot fathom how Earthling Ed keeps putting up with these ignorant buffoons. Kudos and much respect to him.
I think with experience, you learn to look beyond people's gut reactions to veganism and understand that you yourself were probably in a similar position as them at some point. At 6 years, I was still what people would call "somewhat militant" with my veganism and angry at people. But now at 13 years, I've always found the "live by example" and argue calmly is much more productive as it makes people see you less as an adversary. Ed seems to have perfected this calm and reasoned approach, which we can see has been quite successful.
@@elise3455 I can't even begin to wonder how many times you tell yourself you are right to remain convinced. Life consumes life to create more life. Those are the rules, I did not make them up. All of these animals are sentient so what is the factor that makes a life worth moral consideration? You are making the claim, you have to support it. Furthermore, everyone starts as a baby eating meat. So the idea that you are a heroic infallible champion for choosing plants now is a joke. You're a hypocritical narcissist.

Better late than never to do the right thing. We are all kept intentionally in the dark by traditions habits and conditioning. Adverts and the promoting of meat dairy and eggs are vile and corrupt. We must find our own right and true path in life no matter how long it takes. Better to follow our own conscience than the crowds being led into lies and following in the wrong direction. I have been vegan for nearly 13 yrs and at my personal best at nearly 69 yrs of age. When we find the truth in life its hard to ignore when we have a fully developed conscience.
Ed, you deserve an award for keeping composure in front of these absolute insane idi*ts. It is quite frankly amazing to watch you deal with these people and NEVER get angry. Never stop, please.
Wow, Mike Parry was so energetic when he opened his mouth, I thought he was going to come up with some groundbreaking argument against veganism. And after hours of research, Mike came on the show to attack veganism with "Protein Tho'". Nice one, Mike! Never heard of that one before.
He was on Jeremy Vine show and was given two sausage sandwiches to taste. He said the first one was really horrible but the second one was really nice and meaty. But they were both vegan😅
@@ShrivelledHeartSoftwarewell, not necessarily, right? No one is forcing anyone to eat meat substitutes. It's simply an option for those that want that similar taste while giving mercy to the animals. If we learned cabbage was equally detrimental to animals/health/the planet, I'd guess Ed would choose the alternative cabbage too. It's a thought provoking angle though!
You'd have thought the the specimen of health on the left would have learnt his lesson when he though a vegan sausage was a real sausage and it tasted amazing. Obviously he was very embarrassed when he found out it was a vegan sausage, yet he still felt the need to embarrass himself further on this show
Agreed but if I could offer my two cents I would avoid using the word misinformation. it's so charged nowadays that bringing it up turns the whole thing political and that just kills any attempt of persuasion
People should be able to choose their own diet. Nobody should criticize anyone else's diet. People have been eating meat since the beginning of time. If people choose to be vegan that's their choice. Nobody should try to force dietary restrictions onto anyone else.
Then, just don't argue and mind your own business, that's it. If you are actually vegan by the mean of not killing animals for consumption, than ok. It's fine, it's a preference, a value. If you really want to a big push in the good direction for meat consumers to actually not kill animals. Then create something, meat produces in a lab or something like that is AT EVERYTHING EQUAL to MEAT and then maybe they will change their mind and eat THAT thing instead of killing animals. If not, just mind your own business and move on things that make you feel good and happy.
The guy actually suffered heart failure at one point, so you'd have thought hed have taken a long hard look at all that saturated fat he was eating, guess not though, seems the body needs that stuff (according to him) 😏

I reckon I would have popped a blood vessel by now 😅 This conversation got my blood pressure so high that being plant based is literally the only thing keeping me alive rn 😆

How you didn't shout at them for 5 minutes straight is beyond me 😄 EDIT: Gods, these people are unbearable. I would've had a crying fit trying to talk to them.
Meat consumption being at record lows doesn’t actually suggest anything about vegan numbers, since being vegan is not just about meat. Meat consumption being at record lows certainly suggests there are either more vegetarians or more meat eaters who are opting to reduce meat intake in favour of more plant based food. It doesn’t really indicate anything about actual vegan numbers though.
Three people interrupting Ed with the silliest irrational arguments and attacks, and Ed still managed the situation like an absolute champion! Thanks for all you are doing for animals!
This is why it’s so hard to debate people. I’m pretty sure they never listened to you and considered your points, they just kept trying to think of more points of their own.
Geez, they are all pouncing on you with the most basic vegan questions that have been answered a billion times now. As always, congrats on keeping your cool, Ed!
I suffered from metabolic syndrome (obesity, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, and high blood sugar). I went whole food plant based no sugar oil or salt and I lost 65 pounds, all my conditions greatly improved, my gums stopped bleeding, and erections and energy returned. I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. Also, I save money by not having to buy pills or visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

I was diagnosed as prediabetic when I was 27 years old (now 34). I was in the best shape of my life. Cycling 85 miles per week with a diet primarily consisting of fresh greens and grass-fed meats sourced from the local farmers market. It was a true wake-up call moment to say the least. After researching some of the root causes, I opted for the whole foods diet and was able to lower my A1C from 5.9 to 5.7 over the next two years. I’m still vegan to this day. I don’t crave meat or even processed vegan-friendly meat. I crave salads with carrots, lentils, onions, peppers, tomatoes, almonds, and cashews. I crave banana blueberry smoothies with a touch of protein and peanut butter after a long day on the bike. I rarely watch videos like this because I don’t like the polarization. But when I do, I can sense the suffering from the individuals who probably have never given a plant-based diet a try. It’s not easy. It requires rewiring neural connections from years of behavioral conditioning. It wasn’t easy for me either. But I’m happy my past self put in the work. I’m happy to be on the other side.
To clarify, I described my diet before the diagnosis and explained that I no longer crave meat or vegan-friendly meat as falsely mentioned in the above segment. The ingredients and foods that I listed do not include meat or dairy. Slow down and digest before calling someone out.
You are forgetting to add in the B12 supplements you have to take or the processed food that's had B12 added. To many vegans like to forget about that because all B12 comes from living, breathing bacteria.
And I have never been so lean and strong and healthy since I started eating only meat and vegetables. No sugar and flour. I would never be so stupid to skip the meat.

@@rudy8409and was that incredibly subjective feeling justified by any actual evidence? there's not a single reason for you to still be eating meat.
@@rudy8409What epistemic framework do you use to come to the conclusion that you’re healthier by eating meat?

I am a 2nd hand vegan. My food eats plants. Buy why do they think it's ok to eat my food's food?
Oh my godness!! You have the greatest patience in this entire world! ED FOR PRESIDENT! Having angry old men agitatedly screaming illogical, irrational things right at me, AND interrupting me, would have me SCREAMING in tears, hahah! SO freakin' rude!
Thanks for being a voice for all the animals and a great inspiration for us like-minded!
Love!
Angry old man here! Thought Ed was brilliant! Wiped the floor (with animal friendly cleaner Obvs!!) against stupid butcher. Main stream telly should see more of Ed. He is a class act. Except it's not an act, it is clearly heartfelt, and importantly, genuine. Pip Pip.
Ed, you did absolutely amazing! Given the situation and their silly arguments and questions, and then they would cut you off mid-explanation. I think the people watching at home definitely heard some valuable tidbits from you that you were able to successfully convey through all that chaos of an interview. Well done.
It's infinitely easier to be vegan than it is to justify not being vegan
Where can i get heme iron, saturated fat, vitamin D, and Taurine?
@@GarudaLegends Vitamin D can be gotten from a supplement. Sourced from Lichen, specifically. That's the only one I can recall off the top of my head.
@@KelkohTV what about heme iron and Taurine?
@@GarudaLegends Not totally sure why you care about saturated fat, but coconut oil or palm oil.
Easy to justify not being vegan and that's health, plz provide the ex wfpbd study and if it is in favour of veganism I will go plant based
