Yesterday when I was taming a baryonx (wanted a backup just in case) and I found a good one. I built a trap and started to lure it over. Right as it almost was in the trap, a Kapro came out of nowhere and pounced me off. I was surprised so I just sat there, not thinking about using my sword, but then I realized. I have very good armor so I can tank a lot of hits. I killed the kapro, put my super dodo on passive, and started trying to run from the baryonx. They’re really fast but lose aggro easily so I got him away. 3 Titanoboas came out of nowhere and started hitting me. As this was happening, I was running to my argie, attempting to get on it. When I finally did, my heart was racing and I was on like half hp. I didn’t end up getting knocked out because I have 42 fortitude, which is good. I tamed up the baryonx and it didn’t even end up having good stats lol 😂
Well, I have two proposals for you. First, you kept fighting yourself about thylas, and you just got the hyenadons and Baryonix, so it’s about time for a thyla too. BUT! You ALWAYS say you want a micro raptor pack, but you’ve never done it in Soloing the Ark. No time like the present? Anyways, awesome video as always!

Ever since You lost all your narcotics to a Ichtyornis in season 5 I decided to split my narcotic stacks in my inventory XD I just half or quarter the amount I'm bringing so if it gets stolen, I have another stack!
Oh yeah, this is big brain time
I play on a unofficial with increased stack size and a lvl 60 ate 2500 bio toxin and didn't pass out. Thx for the tip of splitting stacks
Always good spending some time with Phlinger! That Baryonyx had a serious attitude problem Phlinger. You had no choice but to put him in a cage and shoot him with a bunch of tranqs and tame him.
I was on foot dispatching a kapro with my shotgun right at that point where the River mouth turns into the swamp west of the redwoods when I got a SURPRISE 150 BARY myself literally a day or two before you posted this... ended up taming her with 319.6 melee (33 levels), 1625 stamina (40), and the highest weight score I’ve ever personally seen on a Bary with 552.5 (35), and it seems wasted Oxygen of 945 (32) since that is a phantom stat. I guarantee there are better, but oh my gosh, dude! We both had our “I need new underpants!!!” moment with one on the same day it seems! Already breeding her with my friend’s male and offspring are already hatching at 241, and we are yet to get her stamina onto them (her tamed up level of 224 is higher than his imprinted bred male). I love the Bary already! It’s like my water thyla at this point, except a thyla in water is truly a water Thyla, hehe, and we hunt megs with our thylas to feed our baby barys.
Well spank me sideways, a third episode this week.....wooo

That corner of the redwoods is one of my favourite places on the Island for a base. You've got the swamp, you've got the redwoods, you've got beavers, you've got the metal mesa, you can tame a frog to farm meganeura, you can tame baryonyx, it's not far to the east where you can sometimes find chalicotherium, to the west is the mountain where you can find ankys and doeds... (and if you're on multiplayer you don't really get noobs stopping by your base)
I can't blame you for looking for Thyla's ... I went to Scorched Earth just so I could get a female Thyla to breed with my male Thyla because what is better than a Thyla? A bred, fully imprinted Thyla ... Thyla's are great.

If you force-fed a Bary stem berries, their food used to plummet. Used to save mine that way a lot.

As someone nearly old enough to remember when the first images of Bigfoot were first released (I said nearly :P), the, "Quick, someone get a blurry picture," nearly killed me. :D Like pictures of UFO's, there never seems to be a picture taken by a decent camera, even when it's from the military.

Yay Phlinger! I luuuv your stuff and have even gotten some good ideas from it! I do, however have one question...we have a server and run Rag on it, now, for some time we have been trying to find ice wyverns and up until now, with no luck! I mean, there does not seem to be any evidence of ANY having been on the map at all! LOL So, any ideas? Thanks again for all the great content and keep it up!

Phlinger you looted a ramshackle Barry Saddle that's in your chest by your grill. Also, since you're using Gen this season take Smeghead and the hyenadon pack to the bog and get some Barry's. Would be an exciting video at such a low lvl

I hate finding high level dinos so I have a mod that boosts the average levels of dinos. It really helps by making like 1/10 dinos 135+ at least

Phlinger.... would you consider live streaming your Thyla hunt? I've always wanted to see what that looks like w/o the magic of cutting and then coming back after having found one..... To me it's one of the most intimidating aspects of this map and I would love to see your process in action :-)

I spent probably 15-20 hours searching the island for baryonyx constantly cleariing the swamp and the best I could come up with was a level 93 out of like over a hundred of them. I really hate the spawns on the island, I don't know why the developers can't fix it.

The Baryonyx and the Thylacoleo are two of my favorite's. If I had to choose between the two I would probably go with the Bary. The Baryonyx is my taming buddy under the water.

Should gather stone at my Weathertop base with me... major spawn point for Phoos and Theriz... a lot if phoos can be found INSIDE the rocks. I know its a glitch and should reset or wipe but I really like it.

Hey Phlinger, i took a break from Ark for a bit and got back into it when you started this series. In past episodes you have never been pounced by a raptor, did they change that mechanic in the last year? Also, loving the series, keep up the great work!
I played ark for almost a year now, and I have never been pounced. Im pretty sure they changed something
Wild ones don't pounce anymore except for abb ones

Everytime you go to tame Baryonyx, I always think Barry for the male and Bertha for the female. No clue why. 😂
That's my rule until I breed a pair. Then I usually go with some sort of gemstone name related to their main color. Like Ruby or onyx

How do you find so many high melee dinos? Every season's Baryonyx is well above 300% melee to start. I haven't found one single Baryonyx that has over 290% melee even if they are lvl 145 or 150. Same with Thylas.

Phlinger I breed a brutal super dodo but named mine devil bird 54Melee 45Health 45Stamina and imprinted it's a beast of a Male trying to get a Female then going to breed for mutations.

Nice bary tame. You realize that Baryonyx can be picked up by an Argent, right? Would have made the Bary's attitude problem much easier to deal with! :)
Edit: Oh, nevermind. Base game changed it, but Kraken's mod still has that as a thing.
They can’t be picked up anymore. They changed that about 6 Months ago. Bolas don’t work anymore as well.
