Listen people this is a perfect how to video. This video should have no dislikes. If you do for some reason mess your controller up.. Put it back together the best way you can go buy a controller and return the messed up one as the new one. Never pay for a controller again
Trying to take apart this controller with precision while listening to this music is equivalent to trying to get pumped at the gym listening to church songs. Its not damn possible.

Yeah story of my life!! There are always a few screws laying around when I finish reassembling and i have no idea where they came from 😂
Pay better attention when disassembling or even record yourself so you can replay the footage lol
Opened up 2 controllers, replaced the sheel and buttons on one and only buttons on the other, work like a charm, nice work mate!

To all the people complaining and saying buy the controller on that color like have you seen how much a fucking controller costs . Prices are ridiculous for the colored ones. The go from 60 to 100 or more. The shell is only like 12 to 20 bucks and you can change the color to your controller to whatever you want. I like the video it explains it very well.

@@blacklyfe5543 I did quite easily. Its literally just unscrewing a couple screws to open it. I dont see how u can mess it up. I'm not really good at openimg computers or electronics but this easy af. Ive already customized two of my controllers

I hate how the PS3 and PS4 controllers are so complicated to do compared to the Xbox 360/xbox one controllers, but the PS4 controller is still the best controller ever made imo.

The only problem I had when I did this was the touch pad board. my controller was a different model I guess, it was not that easy. Tho the time I put in was worth it.
I've done shell replacements for my switch, both the tablet itself and the joycons. Woof. Gonna attempt the ps4 controller next and already I am looking forward to it and also want to cry from dread. Don't get into doing shell replacements, it's a cursed hobby

heyy, so I'm at the part where we put the usb port back in, and my controller has only one screw, two screw holes, BUT. they are verticle (one on top of other, not beside each other) I'm wondering if there is different models?? have you heard this before??anyway so now I'll have a chrome front and a solid black...kinda annoying as this is my first time and it's taking for ever. but so far this video is amazing.

No it doesn't. At least not the touch gestures. I'm not sure if it's a paint issue or the thickness of the plastic on the replacement part, but I had very spotty functionality at best. It wasn't usable.

All people complaining about broken controllers, it's entirely you fault anyone with a brain knows that electronics are stupidly complex and you a normal person meddling with it isn't a smart thing to do, this person clearly knows his way around the controller and the electronics behind it.

guys its really hard to get the shell off because its so tight together, be careful or you'll snap the motor wires like the guy has done so in this video. if you snap the motor wires your vibration on the controller will brake.
I feel confident enough to change everything except the touchpad. When he stuck a knife under the sensor I was worried for him.

I've done this for 3 controllers now. The first one is fully functional and works perfect but for some reason on the next 2 everything works fine except for the r2 button. That is literally the only button not registering. Do you have any idea why?

I've looked at a ton of videos to try and find one with the touch pad. What I don't get is of you have one of the new controllers, there's a light across the front of the touch pad that won't work if you change it. And also, how did you get the triggers out so easily? The triggers, options and share button seemed to all be impossible to remove for me

It's so easy. Just practice. Take an old controller and experiment. I'm always changing my shells, buttons, colors. my friends think I bought a custom controller, but it's just how you pick the new colors.
I bought your kit and assembled the controller but after a week i started to notice the paint on the buttons were coming off.

I have a new case for my PS4 controller everything fits its the screws on the back won't screw in like it doesn't fit. It's the same screws from my old case do I need smaller screws and my old controller was the first gen I think jdm-001

hello I did the same thing as you shown in the video also changed my touch pad cover and now my controller act weird its either the touch pad or gyroscope??
would you say the plastic material is the same or cheaper than the original stock ps4 controller? I've been wanting to do this, & it looks simple. I just don't want to buy all the parts put it all together & the plastic buttons or the controller itself is cheap.
I know the original isn't that great, I'm just curious how well made the aftermarket pieces compare
I have a chrome shell and the paint rubbed of and now has white parts where the paint had gone is there any way to prevent this or any other shell that I could buy that doesn’t do this (btw the shell was plasti dipped or something like that idk)
