It's really hard to mess up, this is one of the easiest controllers to do along with the Switch Pro controller which is the easiest. Honestly as long as you're gentle you'll do fine. I also recommend you get tweezers for the ribbon cables as they are delicate and shouldn't be treated with force.
My first interest in modding came from Switch videos, which is terrifying. Relieved I can do my first gaming hardware mod on my PS4 controller with confidence. Thx for the vid, thumbs up
OC Gaming thanks it turned out really really well and I gained a lot of cool, valuable experience that I was able to directly take to fixing the sprint (L3 analog click) in my friends controller. I want to start a TH-cam channel to document this stuff, I think I caught a bug for it. This tutorial was a stepping stone for me, thank you. ( I wish I could attach photos to TH-cam comments)
The aluminum thumbsticks are farrrrr more forceful to get on don't be afraid to break it you need to push them on very hard and the most even way to get them on in my opinion is to put the shells back together after you get them on half way then once everything's screwed back together squeeze them from the grip down harder. I replace analog sticks (the full assemblies) and I find that's the the easiest and then with the screws going in always go from corner to corner
Hey man thanks for that we are trying to give people the best instructions we can check out some our new videos for next gen products! Thanks for the feedback, Cheers.
I just really wanted to paint mine (maybe Galaxy ooooo) and not get anything on the buttons or anything inside. So watching this really helped! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️🎮
one recommendation is doing a nice little video montage with the old vs new controller at the end (with music), just to add a bit more variety, apart from that, amazing video brother.
I took a blue camo remote and a magma red and swapped the blue camo back case with the magma red and I love it so much the contrast of the light blue with the burning bright red is amazing
Do you have to take apart the whole thing just to customize the front piece? I was thinking about painting mine, but it seems there's a lot that can go wrong.
For just the front shell, you do not need to take a part the whole controller. And to Jesus' comment... just put a clear coat on it and you'll be fine mate. 👍
Why does my screwdriver not turn the screw properly? I bought a screwdriver from ebay used for opening ps4 controllers and no matter how strong i turn all screws in controller it barely turns. Please help.
Hey that's awesome, that means the content is desirable. I hope we these videos help and be looking for new generation videos, we have some to check out now!
Hey there! So we actually make custom PS4 controllers, so we assemble them in house from our supplier. We don't sell them separately just yet sorry! But you can check out some on our website :) ocgamingstore.com
Does anyone know where I am able to buy these buttons, because whenever I search them up, the only metal ones that I can find are like the bullet ends, and I don't think they look as good as the smooth metal like in this video
I would rather buy a 200$ scuf controller Edit: If I each time I screw up I would buy another standard controller and its gonna cost more than a scuf lol
Hope you enjoyed this customization! What other custom builds would you like to see? Leave us any ideas below! 👇🏼👇🏼
Good shit bro
@@j6shy_987 thanks mate!💪🏼
You should use a plastic pry tool rather than your hands
I’d like to know if I can customize my first-gen CUH-ZCT1U controller using this tutorial

Leart Kurti lmao same for me

i just did it it took about 1 hour but it was actually kinda easy and fun and i love the result.
Thanks for the feedback! Once you've done it, it will only get easier the next time.
If he breaks one controller he's just gonna take one from the back

Capitalists.
Lol
Lol
He don’t even look at the cam 😂
Don’t r/whoosh me, but, call me un idiot, but I think there are 2 cameras, so he is looking at one of them (side one)

I really want to do this but im so scared ill break the controller 😂
CubyWolf_Playz 44 I’m 13 and I did it. You can too.
If u want to try it do it on ur 2nd controller or a controller u don’t use to see if u done it correctly

Definitely don't be scared to do it your self. I've changed the thumb sticks on my controller now want to customize it with my son . Easy
I like how he’s looking at a different camera and there are at least 100 controllers behind him
broncos
i likes pats but go broncos
Fabe 26 pata really
The newer controllers you can’t seem to change the options and share buttons as it’s moulded into it when opened out
Holy sh*t look at the background there's like a billion of controllers when I only have 2😂😂😂😂
I'm pretty sure it's like a shop
@@IDK-bg6im ohhh jokes my bad is it a shop or is it just to flex on people😂😂😂😂😂

I did not mess up my controller and now it is lit thx
Are the analog sticks just as easy to grip ? The aluminium ones ?
No you got it all wrong! We all know the best way is to let Jelly smash the controller.
Damn... you are right, we need to redo this.
Good one yes we do
Haha
Dang I didn't think of that
I just really wanted to paint mine (maybe Galaxy ooooo) and not get anything on the buttons or anything inside. So watching this really helped! Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️🎮
Hey Ginger Snaps, no problem it is our pleasure! We'll have to make some custom videos in the future and show you how we do it here at OC

This was supercool to watch
Were did you get the purple buttons from?

Can you do the same exact thing but instead just take the top off and customize it and then put it back on?
This video is helpful but it don’t help when my analogue stick loves falling off and the blue ribbon keeps* bending
0:02 did he just make a factory of controllers behind him?
Great video exactly what I’m was looking for
Awesome Noah! Thanks for the feedback man I'm glad we could help out.

How does the soft touch shell feels? Any similarities with the Razer Raiju Ultimate?
The best way we can describe it is a silicone feel, it's soft on the surface but not squishy.
@@Gamenetics rubberised eh?
make sure you have an ESD strap on because you might short something
This was the first tutorial I found that actually was the for new type of controller I had, so thank you I did it in under 20 minutes ;P
Saint Syndicate was it hard
Do you have to take apart the whole thing just to customize the front piece? I was thinking about painting mine, but it seems there's a lot that can go wrong.
@Jesus Saves I'm going to put some sort of sealant to prevent that from happening
For just the front shell, you do not need to take a part the whole controller. And to Jesus' comment... just put a clear coat on it and you'll be fine mate. 👍
If you put the ribbon cable in the wrong way on the under shell it will still turn on the light will just be reversed
Thank you this will be so helpful when I put on my clear purple shell!
Damn ! It looks beautiful
Hi I like your videos when you chang kontroller by and I will subscribed and ringed the bell by
thanks for the video,if I had known the circuit wasn't glued to the shell I would've modded it earlier
Can u link where u bought the case from and chrome sticks
I just learned how to mod a PS4 controller... I’ll probably never use this knowledge but maybe when I’m bored
Why does my screwdriver not turn the screw properly? I bought a screwdriver from ebay used for opening ps4 controllers and no matter how strong i turn all screws in controller it barely turns. Please help.

@@Gamenetics do you make PS4 scuff controllers like the ones that have additional buttons?
I wouldn't recommend aluminium joysticks because it would make them more slippy and could affect your in game performance
I guess it depends on how much you are sweating during a game ;). You can always put thumb grips on your analog sticks!
where did you buy the custom pieces
OMG so usefull new subscriber
This is actually pretty easy you guys, it’s just you need to be careful on the ribbons and screws

What screwdriver size did you use to take out the screws?
0.50 philips
What’s do you get a frame from? I can only fin the other model.
The Ribbon Cable to the led light. you do not have to have it plugged up for it to work

Can u do a repair video on how to repair a PS4 controller that doesn't charge
Where do u buy shells from
I'm just watching to get by the day because of quarantine and I'm a Xbox guy
That's calm i respect that u ent one of the kids who still do console war
Is it the same method with the cuh-zct1e model
anyone know where he got this set of buttons and thumb sticks from?
My controller said CUH-ZCT2E instead of of CUH-ZCT2U does that mean I shouldn’t customise it
What is the difference between normal and soft touch
Normal has more of a harder plastic feel to it and the soft touch is well, softer. It has a smoother surface to it.
I'm subscribed bro
Awesome! We've got a few more videos coming out here soon, one of which we destroy an xbox one controller - watch out for that one dropping soon! 🙌
Where you can buy the pieces
I found a American flag top shell and shotgun shell analog stick and bullet buttons but I wanted to know how to actually do it before I got it
The biggest flex is having your dualshock 4 controllers behind him
I will mess up this one
Good one btw
subbed but please sell just buttons on your website thanks
Bro where dis you bought the bottoms?
What happens if you were to get a different model shell than the controller you have now
Can you do MODEL: CUH-ZCT2E please?
I have already ripped the label witch shows the model of the controller off the back
That's no problem, it just adds more flavor to the controller.
