Making a Wardrobe part 2 of 4 ep 25-24

- We ended up both making slacks this week for the challenge of making a wardrobe, part 2. Dee made Simplicity 8378 from a pink crepe double knit that she purchased at Hobby Lobby for $3 a yard. These are the wide leg slacks with pockets. She learned a new technique to keeping the elastic from rolling over in the waistband.
Dory made her slacks from New Look 6216 out of a thrift store fabric she purchased at a local community thrift store. She paid $3 for all of the fabric. Dory's waist band is also elastic, along with a web or ribbon tie, and has pockets.
Both makes were "easy"! Stay tuned next week @sewingfun where you will see part 3 of the wardrobe makes.

I have suggestions for your box. Make something from a free pattern. Make something out of silk. Make an accessory like a hat or belt or jewellery or scarf, etc. make something for your home. Make something for charity.

We have those spiders here in Georgia and trust me you'll see them long before you run into them.😅 they are huge, but they are gorgeous too. As long as they're not hurting my animals, they can live here. Ha

Thanks for the compliment. We both try to eat healthy, drink lots of water, and that helps with the complexions.
Very nice pants to a great outfit. You make them better than I do. I just haven't had much success making pants to fit me right. I'm still working on that since I gained weight after retirement. Thanks for the inspiration!
Pants can be a challenge. Keep working at it and take all your measurements and measure the pattern pieces too!
i love the pants both of them and i don't think your back is that big i couldn't believe you had to have a size 20 you both look good
That's why measuring the pattern is so important, that particular pattern just would not have fit.
Thank you for each saying your own name, it really helps. It is wonderful how your serendipity finds coordinate so beautifully, example the twill tape. I find the pockets Dory made hold less than the seam pockets. Hoe do you keep your pockets facing to the front? Exciting wardrobe build.
When you put the waistband on, you need to be sure and catch the top of the pockets to the front.
The cup is always full! If it is "empty", it is full of air. 😅

Great trousers! I made two maxi summer skirts last month. This past week has been hail and 6-9 degrees C (44-48 f I believe) at most. As soon as summer turns up I am ready!
