One yard touchdowns! pattern reviews B3383, S8523 ep 17-24

- What can you do with one yard of fabric? Make yourself a cute little top!
Dee made a knit top from Butterick 3383 from scrap fabric she had left over from a dress she had made. This was a super easy make! Bias binding is around the neckband. It looks like a Lands End ready-to-wear.
Dory made her top out of Simplicity 8523 using fabric she had inherited from her mom's stash. It was also an easy make. Though the pattern calls for a little bit more than a yard, she was able to squeeze it out of her 1 yard of fabric.

Loved seeing the viewers makes. It’s funny I was just going to suggest that you add make a garment with a sheet or shower curtain and here your viewers make was made with a sheet. I also thought of a difficult item, a lined winter coat. Your tops are cute. Glad for Dee’s suggestion on how to match designs on the sides. See ya next week. Both of your tops are very nice. Dory the fabric you choose looks so nice done up with that pattern. I like the cap sleeves and slits on the side. You could wear that anywhere. Dee I just pulled the same pattern out to make the other day. I assumed(ha ha) it was for knits. Yours turned out so nicely! You did a wonderful job matching the stripes, and matching notches is a great idea.

Hi. Thanks for showing us really nice tops that can be made with 1 yard! You have encouraged me to look through my patterns! Great idea for the summer! A hint -I have used elastic pony tail holders from the dollar tree for closures with buttons. It works very well. Thanks for all of your ideas!

Hey ladies! Adorable tops from the 1 yard idea. Both are very good additions to your wardrobe. The skirt I made while visiting my sister was fairly easy if I remember correctly. I do struggle a bit with zippers. Getting the waistline to match exactly just doesn't happen for me. Any tips? Always look forward to seeing your videos. Oh! And, my sister has asked me to make a formal gown for her. We decided on the pattern. I belive that was the easy part. She also has a house in Boston. They have a small fabric district that we visited years ago. She will choose the fabrics from one of them. I sew with sheets, curtains, tablecloths, etc. Gonna step up my game!

Both turned out so well and suit each of you. Dory you said you lowered the dart, did you leave the dart in the side seam in the same place and just lowered the apex or did you lower the whole thing? I’d love a video on how to do that.
I lowered the whole thing to match my correct apex. I'll have to show it sometime.
Think about a colour block top from scraps. Bet you could do something interesting.
