      I've Played all three (Had the RBI, B7K Ultra came to my studio a few months ago, I own and use the LeBass since it came out) the Lebass is a bit more scoopy than the rest, something between fender bassman and Mesa 400+. the sansamp and B7K are more "SVT" ish. all are great. The reason I keep the LeBass is the cold fusion mode, it spares me a dry/wet setup and nothing else sounds like it.

    I think I still prefer Darkglass. But came to realise all I need is a cranked 1176. Heard it on a couple videos, tried vst version on a couple of my tracks, loved it. Is there a hardware version of this compessor (pedal/rack or whatever) in 200-300$ range?

    Niiiice! I LOVE the Torpedo Wall of Sound plugin by Two Notes and have been looking for something to use for bass. I was using some of the models from the PODXT Live but was never really happy with those. This sounds fantastic! I wonder if this could be used with the power amp sims in Wall of Sound (I think they support bass)

    Hot fusion cascades channel A into channel B.
    Cold fusion runs the two channels in parallel, which gives it more clarity.

    Hey Glen! Im currently comparing the Le Bass against the B7K for a mid to high gain metalbass tone. In other comparisons, I thought the Le Bass has less clarity than the B7K. We play Metalcore - Djent tuned to "undjenty" drop c :P Im looking for something good, but I am afraid that the B7K sounds too much like everybody else nowadays. Whats your opinion? Cheers!

    Nice review Sir, always appreciate a good review on kit.
    Just a note to guys in bands playing (bass), I did one of those Festivals (too many bands in one day,but your not signed so your supposed to Share Equipment (amps) Right, got totally screwed by a level of douche-Rocketry never before seen.
    So, I ended up having to go DI from my sansamp and it worked like a beast, sounded great on stage and great "out front" but having the ability to dial in a little "dirt" to the sound without trying to chain a Dist. pedal sounds awesome.
    Again,Thanks for the Review Sir, will put this on my "next purchase" list. Cheers.

    Hey Glenn, have you ever tried using auto-tune on bass guitar ? I'm sure you already know that the nature of low frequencies is such, that it makes it difficult to accurately tune the instrument and keep it in tune. Although, I never tried it myself (don't have a comparable plugin) people say auto-tune on bass really works..

    • @daleonov
      @daleonov 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So do you need to have the Two Notes Torpedo live to get the power amp and bass cab sim or does the DI have that function?

    • @rockyowitz
      @rockyowitz 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      From my understanding, the cab sim button on the side is for the DI and the headphone output. It's basically a "set in stone" cab sim that Two Notes crafted.
      For power amp simulation and cab sim (especially for using your own cabs and such), you actually can just use the Torpedo C.A.B. with this, as the Torpedo live is mostly for use as a loadbox and such for tube amps. On the C.A.B., you can use the included cabinets that come with the Le Bass (I think like 16), craft your own sound in their software, and then push that back to C.A.B. to carry with you on the road.

    Meh. It depends on what you're looking for with your bass style. Personally, I combo the B7K with a separate bass OD pedal. That way I can just use it (the B7K) to drive the low mids (which Darkglass is way better at doing), and have more control over the distortion. It's probably the same concept as "Fusion" on the Le Bass where you have multiple channels, but GODDANG, I personally love the clanky-growl-y-ness of the Darkglass.

    This is more of a commercial than a review, but hey, nice sound demo's. Very nice pedal; but the hot fusion disappointed me; Darkglass does the heavy dirt sounds better IMO.

    Would love to see Glenn do a 2016 amp sim shootout, as much as he hates amp sims, would be really cool. He's done a couple, but I'm talking about the lesser knowns out there he may not have hard of. Vadim Taranov makes a great mesa boogie amp sim. I can't even use this pedal for my bass. As fucked up as it is, I can only get the sound I like from Pod Farm. Figures, right? That shit is useless for everything else, so replacing the audio interface is going to destroy my fucking creative efficiency for a while lol

    1. It seems rather good BUT you should've used your Jazz Bass for the demo - Spector basses, with their active EMGs (which I personally dislike but to each their own), aren't the best for distorted sound. It gets too "pumped up". Of course you might say "hey, what about Rex Brown and his balls-crushing sound he gets from his Spectors", but afaik he records using all tube Ampeg SVT-IIs cranked up to full fuckocalypse and he's the only exception to the "EMGs+distortion=NO" rule I know. Here, the clean sound was nasal and the distorted tone was much too saturated.
    2. 299 USD or CAD? Not a huge difference but a difference nonetheless.

    Awesome video, I would like to see some more bass stuff on fearless gear reviews. That bass players like my self can find decent gear and also get made fun of by instead buying the cheapo junk brands because we're all usually fucking cheapskates. Hence why instead of buying new bass strings, we boil them.
