    I tried to get my lady to dance with me on that opener. She said ‘no’ but it was still a great and very danceable track.

    Greetings from England Shawn.
    Probably a little late to the party, but after watching your demo, I found that you were getting pretty much the exact tone I like.
    So, I pulled the trigger on the Le Clean.
    My overdrive of choice is the DSM & Humboldt Silver linings and I use a Plethora X5 on the effects return ( I've been using Two notes WOS for the last 3 years for the cab sims)
    I am just so made up with this simple rig - I can get anything and everything I need.
    Thanks for a great demo and terrific playing BTW.

    Fantastic sounding demo of the product, as well as insight into a real world application of the product. The morning glory worked great too. Always love your crazy licks, they are original to you, very musical, and just super cool. I'm always enamored at how you demo anything and make it sound great, but that's really a testament to your ears, brain, and hands. Kudos, just great job all around. :)

    Great demo Shawn thanks for that bro very helpful!! Just got a Le Clean, for using on the worship team at church for the very reasons you mentioned… They are trying to get away from all the amps stage.... such a killer not using my a.m., I looked at isolation cabinets just actually sticking it back stage in my can get up and it just seem to make sense to give this a go. Such a great clean and concise demo it made total sense. And loved… As usual you’re playing is smoking man

    Hi Shawn, yours' it's always an interesting approach and sound as usual . I like this too. Now that I've listened to your indications I've got an idea hammering in my head and saying to try the new Friedman BE-OD Deluxe with this pedal so to have some kind of four channels ... clean, slightly breaking up, crunch and full highgain plus a decent delay and a reverb in the fx look all channelled to a Torpedo Cab with some kind of Fortin cabs and then out whichever way (interfAce or PA). I reckon that would become indeed a very nice and enjoyable pedalboard. Thank you for the idea of how to use this Le Clean.

    I just got the CAB M (plus), and even though it has an onboard digital preamp, the rig in this video (Le Clean + CAB M) is exactly what I am thinking. Add a Strymon Riverside for the overdrive and I think this would be a dream rig.

    Great review !!
    I have the Torpedo CAB, and have been looking at the Friedman pedals in hopes of eventually getting the Dirty Shirley full amp. I think this will be a great "Buffer" between the BE & DS pedals. I could set up a live pedalboard with the Torpedo CAB, and just use the DI out (without sim) and the Wall of Sound for recording. Then Later down the line go Synergy or full amps ... smaller & less is always good in my opinion.

    I don't know how you get that sound with this pedal ( may be I did not fully understand, because my english level is low ).
    I 've got one ( without cab simulator ) and all I can say is that's a failure.
    The A canal gives agressives hights and the B canal gives hardly a very artificial sound meant to be a crunch. And you spent your time looking for a correct sound. You can get one with the fusion mode, a lot of patience and any luck.
    The pedal become noisely when you turn it up and the sound I got whith two different drive pedals was horrible, in a loop or not.

      For the most part, I use the Hop Pole Big Beast 4x12 with a blended ribbon/condenser mic combination in mono. I almost never turn on any EQ or other FX within WOS4. If I do it's very subtle.

  • @markusschmid6315
    @markusschmid6315 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sounds great Shawn. One question: did you only use a cab/mic simulation without a poweramp simulation?

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, Markus! If you look closely at the demo portion of the vid it looks like the PA sim was on and indeed it was on the 57 side. I must have in inadvertently bumped it on as I was toggling between the 57 and Ribbon mics. The volume of the PA sim was at zero so it had no effect on the sound. Thanks for the question!

    • @markusschmid6315
      @markusschmid6315 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shawn Tubbs thank you Shawn! Love your channel and playing. So your sound is basically the preamp with a cab/mic combination, without a poweramp sim. I asked because I use the preamps myself with a Torpedo CAB, but I struggle to get it dialed in. Until now I always used a power amp sim, but perhaps I should try without a poweramp sim.

    What would be the benefit of this over say a Helix? Trying to figure out what would be best for my own rig and am struggling to justify the cost of this, plus the CAB, and pedals vs just getting a helix and using a few pedals I already own?

    Really good demo! Just found your channel while looking for more info on the LeClean. I've just set up a stereo setup on my pedalboard so I'm going to buy two of these so that I can have a portable stereo rig :) Have you heard of the Worship Guitar Sounds Facebook group? I'm sure you could have a lot of influence there, it's a really good community :)

    In a pedal board format, Le clean be enough to replace a real preamp section of a tube amp employed 4 cable method?Since it's heavy to carry and annoying crumsy cabling, so I wish to substitude 4-cable with Le Clean.However I honestly afraid Le Clean gives just a little bit flavor of tube-like feelings only, not enough headrooms compared with real tube preamp section.

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just depends on what you're used to. It would certainly be easier move around but it will probably sound different in one way or another compared to what you're used to.

    • @Kathayne636
      @Kathayne636 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would just run it directly into the effects return to bypass the amp's preamp. Just one cable in.

  • @fatherjacques

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this pedal would be a good option as it has it's own "cab simulator" and effects loop as well as a great sounding headphone output.

      The Le Clean and Kaluna are both good. The Kaluna is best as a dedicated tube OD. The Le Clean is good if you want to use it more as a preamp.

    What is the difference between a preamp pedal and a typical drive pedal?

    • @Warpriest77
      @Warpriest77 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purpose of drive pedals is to add gain. Preamp pedals are more for tone shaping (volume, eq, etc). It's basically an amp without a power section.

    • @brettdiaz
      @brettdiaz 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      War Priest not to over simplify it, but a preamp pedal is more of an eq rather than just adding gain.

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not an easy question to answer, well at least not for me anyways. From what I can tell, almost every pedal on a pedal board will have some sort of "preamp" circuit. A pedal with a lot of tone shaping doesn't necessarily make it a "preamp pedal". I wonder if it's more based on the output stage of the pedal? Would an actual preamp pedal have a different output level
      and impedance? If a pedal has a balanced DI output would it be more apt to be considered a preamp pedal? Sorry to answer your question with questions... ;)

  • @thearoom
    @thearoom 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    No compression???

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I ended up adding a very slight amount of post-compression to the clean sound in the performance to bring out the clean melody. In the actual demo portion of the pedal, there is no compression.

    • @ShawnTubbs

      Yeah, that's a tough question. I would have to know exactly how you play and what types of tones you like and what types of amps you're playing.

    Please help- suffer/sorry for the short pre-situation explination. I know and appreciate you receive 100/1000's correspondence and don't have time view all. Short version, how do I plug the new LeClean & CAB M on a pedalboard into a practice amp? Unplug cab m? Cab m "line thru" to amp?
    More detail below
    Exactly right, no more isolated amp in church....so, 🤑😁😀😎 NEW GEAR to run direct. Enter LeClean, and "CAB M" (and new patch cables, another high current power supply...and a new swell because I was not quite at $1000 yet! wife loved that part 🤨😡🤮)
    OK, sounds fantastic much better than the AC15 (because a guitar play has control of EQ-mic etc...) but at home on the practice digital amp how do I plug in (cab m last in chain) ? I don't want/afraid to see any blue smoke rising into the situation.
    Unplug CAB M and run board to line in on amp?
    Use "Line thru" on CAB M to line in?
    The practice amp is a Vox valve 20 and does not have a loop, does not have a speaker out....
    I know I can use headphones, but there are times I like to generate natural room reverb.

    • @ShawnTubbs
      @ShawnTubbs  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try just running the Line Thru to the input of your amp. See how that goes.
