totally forgot to mention the new PEGGY (Ampeg style) preamp. Two Notes writes: "Pushing complex harmonic overtones, a warm midrange and oodles of rafter ratlin’ thump, Peggy delivers the perfect blend of classic ’60s bass sonics with expertly-tuned tweak-ability to sit your tone in any pocket!". Now you know!
That's a neat piece of hardware for sure, I haven't looked much into dedicated bass amp modeler but this one certainly has all the stuff that is needed.
This is fine if you like a bit of rock & roll grind or whatever-core heavy distortion, which is what the two token pre-amps models give you - Peggy and Aviator (Darkglass). But I'm searching for something that can make a PA reproduce the sound of a solid, clean bass amp for all other kinds of music. Maybe that's impossible. I will probably return my Opus and just stick with a direct box.
I had the torpedo. Realy good dyn Ir's but souch ba bad hardware, i mean- converters. Everything sounded great when I was playing alone, but in the mix it was horrible - as if I was playing behind a wall
I don't fully get the difference with the cab m+, appart from the USB c port. What would justify an hardware upgrade instead of an software upgrade of the cab m+?
Holy shit thats an awesome sounding p bass!!! That F bass could make anything sound good. Sounds better than Frank's Yamaha too. Maybe you should give it to him.
Interesting, that you didnt use the peggy preamp for a bass demonstration. I use this unit and totally get, why you did not use it. The guitar preamps are very convincing, but I felt the peggy a bit underwhelming. Still an amazing product I use on a daily basis.
This looks pretty cool, with it's midi capabilities would you say it would be possible to use it as a virtual pre amp on my pedalboard and switch between tones? Thanks!
Would this be a good upgrade for my two Note Revolt ? Live i go straight in the Pa without an amp or an cap and i'm happy with the sound... But this thing looks intresting.
This is a great addition to the Two notes Cab M+ pedal, but I only see 1 bass amp sound. Do you know if they releasing additional bass amps sounds? such as Eden, Hartke, GK-RB 800? Playing bass through guitar amps is what the current Two Notes Cab M+ forces you to do. I have the Cab M+, and I like this pedals' potential, but hope for more.
there's a new bass preamp called "Peggy", but honestly you don't really need dedicated bass amps in these sort of devices. Guitar amps sound perfect on bass, just choose the right cab
@@RossDaviesTwoNotes Hoping for something clean and modern in EBS/MarkBass style, not tube, vintage or dirty. and highly slapable. Btw - any chances for a compressor? right now I plug in my MXR.
@@Leo_prado Thanks for getting in touch. We can certainly feed that back to our dev team for consideration, however you may want to try disabling the TSM Pre emulation and use the power amp only with the custom EQ and Enhancer - I have done this a few times and got some killer slap tones! In terms of a compressor, we will certainly feed this back, however in full transparency, it is unlikely this will make it into the architecture as there is already a compressor in the Enhancer section; on a side note, I also like to run compressors into the front end of OPUS and get my tone where it needs to be - if i need any extra compression post the Cab emulation, I add a touch of Body from the enhancer and I am set! :)
Can anyone help me out? I’m getting high noise floor issues with mine. My space has modern wiring as of 2021 and my gear is on isolated circuits. Thanks in advance!
How faithful are these sounds vs the original amps/cabs? I would like to see some A/B takes with the original vs. the Opus. I'm sure it has some great tones in it, but I also value sonic integrity to the originals.
Great question! In short, OPUS is an end-to-end tone shaping Amp Simulator and DynIR Engine whereas C.A.B. M+ is a DynIR Engine that also features a single Clean B’man Inspired Preamp. OPUS builds upon the C.A.B. M+ specification, adding the following features: > An all-new blackout colourway > 5 pristine TSM Preamp emulations; 10 total slots for future Preamp models via free Firmware Updates > MIDI input for seamless assimilation into existing set-ups; MIDI breakout cable included > USB-C connectivity for future-proofed rapid data transfer > A collection of 40+ premier Acoustic Impulse Responses > A revised DynIR cabinet collection > 40+ artist-series presets from the likes of Pete Thorn, Michael Neilson, Jack Gardiner, Tom Quayle, Adam Steel, John Browne, Jay Leonard Jay and more > Dual Mono routing facilities: Simply define a terminus in OPUS’ DSP signal chain and you’re set to send two distinct signals from the DI (XLR) and LINE (1/4-Inch) outputs
@@EvilBlakey Thanks for getting in touch. In this instance the Dual Mono routing is just for the outputs as there is no secondary input. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with!
Bass guitars need the options to add a clean signal in mix. And this is pedal with presets, without any options to switch during the song - epic fail..
I'm legally blind so all these computer driven pedals with their mini screen are imposable to use anywhere other then at home. I will be teched out of the music world before I die. It is all moving to computers which at home I can do if the app is scalable which most I have found are not. I hope this one is. I try to get the software first and make sure I can work with it. But that mini screen I will never be able to read to know what my settings are.
you don't need the screen on the pedal or the controls even. You can set it all up on your computer and then just leave it there. It's not the kind of pedal that needs short term adjustments

I really like Franks playing, and his bass face can’t be beat!
I think Julia from Thomans is his daughter😂
Great tool and of course, Frank can make anything sound fantastic.
I love Gregors Dad! He is the real BASSFACE
i know dude! it is just a running gag! @danteallucinante
This pedal sounds absolutely AMAZING!!!! But for somebody like me I'm not a rocket scientist. I love Frank's bass playing!!!!
This looks like something I would consider buying. Very nice.
Vwey, very awesome bass riffing. Thx.
This thing sounds AMAZING. ❤
That device sounds amazing. Is mind blowing really.
This one ROCKS
Great video, great pedal, great playing Opa!
That's a neat piece of hardware for sure, I haven't looked much into dedicated bass amp modeler but this one certainly has all the stuff that is needed.
That thing sounds really great!
I love my Le Bass, but the cab sim leaves a bit to be desired. May have to look into this!
So smart to include bass with the guitar cabs.
Great review! And I love your eastern German accent!
Are you kidding me? I have just purchased Torpedo and I'm blown away, but this is even more bass friendly?
This is fine if you like a bit of rock & roll grind or whatever-core heavy distortion, which is what the two token pre-amps models give you - Peggy and Aviator (Darkglass). Is it possible to make a bassy bass sound for the bass also?

Eastern German accent . 😂. Nice touch!

It has digital preamp emulation integrated. With cabm you need a preamp, like the Lebass or any bass preamp.
Yeah indeed. Why no software upgrade ? Disappointing.
I just started to google bass demo of this thing like 15 minutes ago, didn't find, but then... 😂
Holy shit thats an awesome sounding p bass!!! That F bass could make anything sound good. Sounds better than Frank's Yamaha too. Maybe you should give it to him.
YAY FOR BASS
Great ..
Your accent is beautiful btw! 🎸
very cool. I would have liked to hear it bypassed. I think that bass probably sounds pretty great all by itself

Yes sure, you can switch preset by midi and even preamps, amp, cab paraleters have their own CC midi to be controlled by midi
Maybe I missed it but what is the main difference to the torpedo cab?
This is new :D
I think the DSP tech is a little different too.
These amp/cab sims are cool but what I'd love is for someone to make a setup like this to simulate various basses like the Variax did.
I have a 5 string Variax if you'd like to have one?
Best bass face ever!
will this drive a power amp?
Would this be a good upgrade for my two Note Revolt ? Live i go straight in the Pa without an amp or an cap and i'm happy with the sound... But this thing looks intresting.
Got to get it.
Is it possible to use DI with speaker emulation and the line out just the preamp?
yes
So what is this bringing that the cab m+ doesn't?
More preamp emulations
So how is this different from the Two Notes CAB M?
It as more preamp emulations
This is a great addition to the Two notes Cab M+ pedal, but I only see 1 bass amp sound.
