I really need to buy a spare drive and start moving to Linux for my daily driver. The copilot app appeared in my taskbar & app list on Win10 a couple of weeks ago so I uninstalled it immediately haha
no , windows still have reason to be use , for exemple if you are required to use windows in your work or school program for exemple and many other reason + apple hardware is not customer friendly and is overpriced !
Defender wasn't annoying until 11. This is the last year I will be a Windows user. Used Linux for multiple months this year already and use Win10 to play games that require Windows still.
As I can run GPU code on a x86 CPU their NPU code will be run on a GPU then probably recoded a bit to run on your CPU as everyone looks at how much they are using their GPU not so much their CPU unless the CPU is hitting 100%. When it comes to everyone most likely it will have code that will have it run on the integrated graphics so most users will not notice as most use a GPU card or GPU chip that isn't on the CPU package. Yes you can in code request if the computer has integrated graphics which most PCs do even the ones with a GPU card do.
I'm usually always on my Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon SSD, but I do have an SSD with Windows 11 Pro 24H2, I uninstalled Co-Pilot awhile back, and I looked the other day through DISM and normally it says "Enabled" for people, even though it's not doing anything, mine said "Disabled".The AIX folder only had a few dll in it and an "Asset" folder with some icons, even when they roll out this garbage, I won't have it running on my PC.
Yeah, time for shift of OS. But for those of us who run windows, this feature are only working on PC's with AI chips. The background tasks and some registry entries are there. There are methods on how to remove it or disable it though, and the best one is made by Chris Titus here on TH-cam. th-cam.com/video/gBqIUkmVel8/w-d-xo.html
@Drew1903SG Yes, but it doesn't guarantee that it will stay off. There's a big chance that it will get reactivated after the next windows update. And I don't think you will set up a reminder to check if it is on or off.
@@nallemanstankarochfunderin5962 Nor does it matter if it is on. IF you are going to tell people a good thing is bad, all they have to do is not use it.
@Drew1903SG How can you possibly say it is a good thing to send metadata from images taken from screenshot of your screen every 3-5 seconds to Microsoft. That is just a recipe for hacking nightmare and a way to let the police and other agencies do mass surveilance without ever asking for permission.
Not for me it doesn't. My old gaming pc runs Win8, and will be replaced with a linux pc, my win 10 gaming laptop will leave me in december to make room for a m4 Macbook pro, and my work pc runs Ubuntu for 8 years or so.
This Recall nonsensical abuse was the tipping point for me to switch to Linux and stick with it. At the start it was a bit confusing and difficult to figure out how things work, so the temptation to give up was there.. but just thinking about Recall is what encouraged me each time to keep learning and adapting. Now I am really glad for it. It is just smoother and better than Windows, no need to submit to a "user agreement" from Microsoft, just freedom to use my own computer the way that I want. Modern Windows is worse than garbage.
if this is so easy to obtain, what's stopping anyone from getting your credit card numbers, bank accounts and stealing your life savings? sounds like it's time to upgrade to Linux.

Copilot is very much misunderstood, under-used & under-appreciated by some Users. Fortunately, that is NOT the case with Biz, Industry, Health, Education and a plethora of scientific arenas, and many other computer Users. Copilot, actually offers & affords a vast array of worthwhile & beneficial abilities/capabilities. Does its job well and quickly.
I hope some dude will develop a Script to fully delete Spyware from windows. You download it, run it, and forget that Spyware exists. I do anyways use Mac, but I also do not like it on my Gaming only PC.
Look, I get your paranoia, but you're wrong about it being something nobody asked for, and you're wrong if you think you can do "contextual AI" without context. The latter is pretty self explanatory, but if you're thinking "nobody ASKED for this", I posit the following: "Do you WANT J.A.R.V.I.S? Because *THIS* is how you get J.A.R.V.I.S. Linux will be popular for this stunt.
no it won't you moron lol. Like seriously think for a second about the reason why linux is not popular

you sound schizophrenic
Why? There was/is no need or reason to do that. One does not do themself any good by being an ostrich.
Time for Linux
It's not like it's coming to EVERY windows device only copilot+ to be fair
k bye guarantee you'll be back after a few weeks lol.

I've been using arch for a few months and can confirm that it is very worth it
if you really need windows, windows server eval
cam said "no focus today i am on a break"
I slapped so many restrictions on my pc that windows cant even think of forcing an update on me
And this is why Windows IoT LTSC is my go to
just installed debian a month ago. :)

🤣 Back, as in backWARDS.
Already switched to Linux (Arch btw) and got Davinci Resolve, Affinity Photo and nearly all my games running. Not looking back.

Copilot is no garbage nor is there any need or reason to remove it.
Maybe W-11 won't get a chance to force me back to Linux. I can find my way back with a copilot hue hue hue.
I don't recall consenting to that!

Removing is super-simple. Turn off in Windows Features. Done.

I look forward to seeing how Copilot works. I found the initial knee-jerk reaction more annoying than the poorly announced feature itself.
me too. everyone is overacting imo. let's see it roll out and how it actually works in realtime.

What are you calling "spyware"?
Everything microsoft has some kind of telemetry(user data tracking) that you have to manually opt out of@@Drew1903SG
