I just bought a '16 Tuono V4 Factory last week with a race tune and Austin Racing exhaust and it's phenomenal! I enjoy it so much that I've decided to sell my '14 MV Agusta Brutale 675 as it's just not as good... Still an amazing bike and utterly gorgeous but the Aprilia does everything better!

Good review, thanks. Though I haven't ridden any of the bikes here apart from the Tuono, I've had many triples and inline fours. I bought the Tuono just for the aural experience... I’ve a Speed Triple 1200 RS in my garage. Neutral is a myth :D It gets better after some miles but it’s still not easy to get in neutral. From those 3 other bikes the S1000R is the only one I would also consider.
I bought the Honda because it was the top of my budget, I think it’s the nicest looking bike for sale, looks better in person. Triumph's suspension is fully adjustable. You can adjust it if it feels too stiff. Or you can get it adjusted for your riding style and weight by a professional. This should be done for any bike and over time for the same bike anyway.
Great review! No one else mentions the heat from these bikes! Although I am wondering why MT 10 and KTM superduke were not included in the test but the honda was?
Really enjoyed watching this. You have a great format with the four of you sharing your thoughts. Sad not to see the new MT-10, and it would be great to get your thoughts on the Streetfighter V2-maybe one day soon?
Sfv2 is just an extremely overpriced middleweight, there's no power under 8k (it's a special v2 with no torque), that engine doesn't make any sense in a naked bike, it also runs hot and vibrates your butt; fit and finish is disappointing for the price, so are the screen, transmission, brakes, lack of cruise control and fuel gauge. The suspension is alright, and it does feel very light and small, would be a decent beginner bike for a crazy amount of money considering it's more expensive than a base tuono v4, can basically have mt10 sp for sfv2 money 🤣
MT10 is a great bike but most people I know like the 09 better. It's light a nimble, but we don't have big highways here for high speed cruising so the MT09 fits the bill good. I'm still enjoying my CB1k that's analog
Can someone advise here I am thinking to buy between Tuono v4 and cb1000r? I know Honda's are reliable and bulletproof, I had once Aprilia Shiver 750,. They are overheating, oil leakages here and there but no major issues. Now I am reading about tuono's have problems with oil, valve adjustments, etc. Is it worth it or shall I go with Honda? I would like to hear your first hand experiances on these bikes? Thanks
i had aprilia tuono v4 2021. the same, touring one, also had akropovich exhaust. bike is fun to ride, but it's a weekend toy. if you want to ride it to work every day, forget it. very twitchy/jerky, even in rain mode, has a ton of extra things that regular ride that never goes to track needs, AND they interfere. like i never used turn signals in city on it, simply because, my thumb would never reach the button, instead i had the traction control button by my thumb (like y?). the bike is literally a super sport with hand bars and street adopted sprockets. Also big thing no one mentions, bike runs hot, and on a hot day in city, in traffic, or on long traffic lights it will overheat. I live in NYC, every time i went to brooklyn summer time, i would have it overheat. On a highway that goes to Manhattan, i could have to ride between cars to maintain enough speed for it to not overheat, which is not only illegal but dangerous in such congested traffic. Asides from that, sure bike is fun, goes VERY fast, power in every gear in every power band, it only drops off a bit after 150 miles on speedometer. Also the akropovich exhaust, it's fun and all, but if you want it as a daily driver, after first week, you will get tired of hearing it, even with good helmet, it's too loud and will inevitably start bothering you. Basically, if you never take aprilia on a track, dont buy one. Also if you live in a city, dont buy one.
Also to mention, i see the guy has akropovich on aprilia. and that's a 2021 model. my man, where did you found a race ecu for it or a flash? i tried nearly everything available, couldn't get a flash nor ecu. in personal experience, modding aprilia is the most pain in the butt deal. Not only that YOU NEED, it's a MUST to either flash ecu or get race map if you get after market exhaust on the bike. the moment you swap exhaust, bike will start running lean when it worms up and after 30 mins of riding, if you sit in a traffic light, you will hear how it starts to chug. this has to be mentioned. I love the bike, i could deal with it being twitchy/jerky, i absolutely hated it overheating, chugging, the whole chores of getting it modded, eventually traded in at a loss.
@@RacingandAdventure i was at aprilia dealership in may. in NYC tristate area. they didn't have the flash yet, and didn't know if they get one or not. i had aprilia 2021 tuono v4 touring edition. got rid of it, riding triumph rocket 3 right now. plenty of speed, much more comfortable, speed is on tap, flash available. much happier with it than aprilia. sure it's bigger, not as good on twisties, but it's good enough for average rider.
With a Gabro standard map, it disables the exhaust valve when in gear, so it's the best compromise for sound if you don't want loud. It also smooths out the fueling, so much so, I can ride in AEM1 everywhere. The quickshifter and blipper are much better too!
I had a tuono factory. It was too twitchy and high geared for the road. I've had the black edition just over a year, I'm faster on the road as its so confidence inspiring. Great honest review guys.
I have a CB too. Terrific bike. Maybe at the extremes it loses out to the others but as a bike to ride ‘normally’ it takes a lot of beating. Masses of confidence on it, comfortable, well made, polished, it feels glued to the road.
Yip, I hardly use 6th gear with the Tuono. And realistically, 120hp is all most of us need for most riding.... Anything above that is for wheelies and mischief ;)
Good review folks, but the sound track of the engines is missing. If people could hear they would understand why we all go for the Aprilia. Once you hear that throaty roar and the insane acceleration, it's Aprilia all the way my friends!
@Dean Kruse Obviously we all form our own perceptions from our own experiences. I can only say that my Tuono has never given me any issues whatsoever over 15,00kms of use, and of the 6 bikes I have owned it is the one I decided to keep permenanty. And actually a Triumph is the only one to give me any mechanical issue at all. Make of that what you will I guess.
Yep I got a piece of crap that burns a quart of oil every 1500 miles so I have to pack oil in my backpack when I ride my shiny new Aprilia. Dealer tells me oil burning is normal for these machines and as a bonus they tell me get ready for oil leaks that are also normal for these machines. Evidently spark plug gaskets start leaking oil profusely on many of these bikes. Thank God I still have my 21 year old CBR 929 RR. Probably trade in this Aprilia for the CB 1000 soon.
Nice comparison video review. I've test ridden the BMW 3 times, a very good bike. But I go for the Honda BE, because I already have it!!! 😉 It's the most beautiful bike, it's blindingly fast (you simply don't need more power), and it has the Honda reliabilty.

The fuel light comes on very early on the Aprilia. When you then fill it up, most of the time only 12 or 13 liters go in… it’s a 18 liter tank I believe… Aprilia should adjust the sensor a bit…
Well,I own a 22 s1000r,,a 23 street trip 765,and owned the New Gen cbr 1000 Honda..all awsome bikes..the v 4 tuono,must be phenomenal, as well.the new M1000 bmw,205 hp..same price as my 22 s1000 r,,21 grand + another 40 hp.i got gypped.for 18,500$,, I think my choice,,1200 speed triple rs..Triumph is top shelf performance..go speed Trip.
The tiny diameter of the Honda's exhaust manifold tubing looks like it came out of the parts been from circa 1980's. The fact that the Honda is blacked out only makes it all the more unmemorable and uninspiring. Should've skipped the Honda and brought on a Streetfighter v4 or Super Duke 1290r, but the fact that this test involves the Honda does make this test unique because it's seemingly overlooked by most.
The Honda is classy and not plastered in gaudy graphics, no it doesn’t shout ‘look at me’, we don’t all want to ride around like a middle aged Ninja Turtle in a tri-colour racing suit with dark visored helmets, knee sliders and aero hump’s a-la KTM crowd. That’s why I bought one.
I have a 2019 in the Candy Chromosphere Red an boy it is a head turner. I constantly have people coming up and complimenting the bike. Some might call it uninspiring but, I think it is a classic look that will stand the test of time compared to things like the Super Duke or Mt-10
@@stewartdillard7199 Stewart I agree, I think the red color looked amazing and in typical Honda fashion Honda killed its availability in the US. I don't understand why Honda cannot offer multiple colors since all that is painted differently is the tank. Anyways, the red CB also had a polished exhaust manifold which looked great. What you think of the blacked out version, if the blacked out version was all that was available would you have pulled the trigger? I also agree that time will be kinder to the CB over the MT and KTM.
@@jetninjamonkey No, you wear what you want. I was curious. I see you have your own TH-cam channel. Playing Guns n Roses as backing over your Ducati vlogs tells me you are not going to want the Honda. Case closed. Be safe.
Every man and his dog has done a review with the factory version. It's actually refreshing to see the base model being tested, specially in a group test!
I wrote the following before watching this but I think the Aprillia qualifies as what I am yearning for in fairing with ergos...I had written "Can someone p;ease explain to me WHY no manucacturer offers relaxed ergos WITH an RR style fairing? Cause I dont get it at all? I realize the resulting bike might not quite look just right given the fairing bubble would have to be just a tad bit taller but seriously? NO ONE? I know adventure motorcycle type designs exist even if not offroad capable in some cases like the S1000XR but it is funky compared to the RR and really there is no GOOD reason it has to be a totally different bike because just look at the single R which appears to share baside RR platform sans the RR's hyper engine tuning....WHAT in the WORLD could be so damn hard about modding the RRs fairing to fit the R'd higher handlebar? Personally it need not even be a full GP looking wrap around fairing just the top part would be fine. I have a sneaking suspicion the ONLY reason we cant have such a version is the marketing idiots and their competition for pricepoint bikes....For one thing if they did offer such a faired R then probably too many custormers would buy THAT instead of the RR and once folks realized how little was invlolved it would challenge their entire pricing scheme? I guess the closest companies come to doing this Kawasaki and Suzuki with the GSX1000GT and the Ninja SX1000 but they both go way past relaxing the ergos and turn each example into PIGS weight wise by making them check all sorts of Sport Touring boxes. Maybe the answer is simply create the PARTS needed to make the RR type models into faired R types? Then perhaps allow customers to order them done up at the factory. I and I know others find this very frustrating we cant just buy an otherwise hard edged sportbike with relaxed ergos....Our only choices are Naked price point bikes ,:ong travel adventure style motorcycles or else heavy sport tourers." .....Now if the other manufacturers will please follow suit with Aprillia? After watching this now I want the BMW with Aprillia's fairing!
@@ApriliaRacer14 It’s a beast from Europe, known for being temperamental, that isn’t all that common in North America and is usually seen in the warmer month with its bright red mating colors.
Would get Aprilia....figure a way to lessen the heat and throw steering damper on it.....much better wind protection, grunty motor, IMU and its reasonably priced.....as a second choice would be triple or BMW.....I see so many BMW so prolly go with triumph..... Just turn compression/rebound way down....if it needed lighter springs that's an easy fix......the suspension is still really good just needs some clicks backed off for street.... I wouldn't be concerned with HP figures for streetbike, they all have plenty
You guys make it look like a disadvantage there’s suspension with old fashioned clickers, it’s a robust and brilliant working system for years. Personally I would not buy a bike with the electronic stuff, I trust the mechanical version way more. In my opionion it would be better to setup suspension properly before testing a bike, it differs for every rider so you’re testing defaults that are probably not applicable to you. Doesn’t give s realistic view of the bike. By the way, dealers should setup suspension as well when they deliver a new bike. In most cases they don’t, makes your new bike a lot less brilliant (and safe).
I'm riding a Superduke R 2021 but my butt is itchy for Tuono Factory as the next in line in the shed just for the fact the sound is amazing especially with a SC Project can. But things like fuel mileage is worrying lol
Honda for budget. Tuono for fastest if you're okay to roll the reliability dice. BMW to play it safe (how odd). Triumph for something a little different and you don't care that the Tuono is ultimately faster.
The Tuono should have been the factory version, that one is more like a sport tourer what about the new Yamaha MT 10? and the Ducati Streetfighter V4S? and the Honda is not a supernaked with that old engine ;)
Not really much difference between a Tuono Factory and base. Essentially it's suspension and 20mm difference in handlebar height. I actually liked the base being used. There are HEAPS of reviews with the Factory!
Yea the Yamaha is closer in power by far then the Honda but if you have the SP good for you I have the standard MT-10 and will I hope forever it has more then enough power for me
Why don't peeps who make these vuds do real world tests with roll on side by side 2 or 3 using different gears then can see which pulls best low down also if one catches back in high revs... always a person's view
Id choose triumph. 10 kg lighter, fast enough if you are not planning to launch a rocket on the moon, probably runs colder than tuono. I ve seen some videos after disabling limiter top speed would be around 300 km/h. If i want it to be %0.001 faster than other hyper nakeds why would i even bother and not buy the rsv4?

Well,I own a 22 s1000r,,a 23 street trip 765,and owned the New Gen cbr 1000 Honda..all awsome bikes..the v 4 tuono,must be phenomenal, as well.the new M1000 bmw,205 hp..same price as my 22 s1000 r,,21 grand + another 40 hp.i got gypped.for 18,500$,, I think my choice,,1200 speed triple rs..Triumph is top shelf performance..go speed Trip.
Agree love mine
What do you think of the 1200 speed triple RR?
The Triumph keyless system is ĝlitchy nightmare! Nice idea when it works...
@@jfro5867 you even take issue with tinted visors? Do you only ride at night?
@@jetninjamonkey No, you wear what you want. I was curious. I see you have your own TH-cam channel. Playing Guns n Roses as backing over your Ducati vlogs tells me you are not going to want the Honda. Case closed. Be safe.
Where the hell did you get a CB from??? I thought they stopped making that bike
Aprilia Tuono hands down.
My dealership made the neutral very easy to apply from 1st or 2nd
Guys, thank you the review. English needs to be polished but otherwise good.
KTM Duke , touno , speed triple is my top 3
Aprilia Tuono for me, but the review would have been better with the Factory version.
Every man and his dog has done a review with the factory version. It's actually refreshing to see the base model being tested, specially in a group test!
1. Aprilia
2. Triumph
3 Bmw
4. Honda
An S1000R for longer rides and a Tuono (factory) for short blasts :)
Yes please!
No Ducati?
What’s Ducati? 🤣😂😆
I love the electronic of bmw, electronic sospension, warm handle, cruise control , lot of stuff but i would take honda any day for it’s reliability..
Who are these guys?
Fellow racing pilots.
Where is the Street fighter V4 and 1290 SDR...🤔🤔🤔🤔
You guys make it look like a disadvantage there’s suspension with old fashioned clickers, it’s a robust and brilliant working system for years. Personally I would not buy a bike with the electronic stuff, I trust the mechanical version way more.
In my opionion it would be better to setup suspension properly before testing a bike, it differs for every rider so you’re testing defaults that are probably not applicable to you. Doesn’t give s realistic view of the bike. By the way, dealers should setup suspension as well when they deliver a new bike. In most cases they don’t, makes your new bike a lot less brilliant (and safe).
Aprilia out of this bunch but i bought a superduke r and couldnt be happier. I sold a speed1200 for it as that was unreliable
I'm riding a Superduke R 2021 but my butt is itchy for Tuono Factory as the next in line in the shed just for the fact the sound is amazing especially with a SC Project can. But things like fuel mileage is worrying lol
Triumph for the WIN. The Honda is heavy and the Aprilia has terrible reliability. The Bimmer is too expensive.
Honda for budget. Tuono for fastest if you're okay to roll the reliability dice. BMW to play it safe (how odd). Triumph for something a little different and you don't care that the Tuono is ultimately faster.
The Tuono should have been the factory version, that one is more like a sport tourer
what about the new Yamaha MT 10?
and the Ducati Streetfighter V4S?
and the Honda is not a supernaked with that old engine ;)
Not really much difference between a Tuono Factory and base. Essentially it's suspension and 20mm difference in handlebar height. I actually liked the base being used. There are HEAPS of reviews with the Factory!
@@Paulthenutter34 yes ok,
but they are calling it the super naked review, so...they should used the more sporty of the Tuonos
Speed triple
Where's ktm ??
Nammo fimnguyen jloveyou 🏁🏁🏁
Shootout without an MT-10 SP heh...
A touring pack vs naked bikes, not sure a similar comparison...
Aprilia is the only one to offer the windshield as an option
They are so different, specs related, price related, almost everything related. This mixt is strange and unproper. Why to make it?
The triumph is disgustingly ugly, the s1000r is a nice bike but I also like how honda went all in on the black with the CB1K
Triumph has such an ugly front with those bug eyes lights and no screen …
Honda!
Every other bikes are sh…
Id choose triumph. 10 kg lighter, fast enough if you are not planning to launch a rocket on the moon, probably runs colder than tuono. I ve seen some videos after disabling limiter top speed would be around 300 km/h. If i want it to be %0.001 faster than other hyper nakeds why would i even bother and not buy the rsv4?
Naked bikes are made for the street. S1000R best. If you want ride on the trach than a S1000RR or Panigale V4S or another.
