      Naked bikes suck. Honestly I gave the street triple rs a chance and it was beyond brutal. I was moving from moto to street and wanted a " comfortable" bike. The riding position doesn't make up for the wind protection. I hate baked bikes just another low IQ trend

  • @PLRMoto

    Got to say the street triple rs is the best value bike on the market for the build quality and spec.

      Couldn't agree more. If you're willing to live with the last generation ('17-'19) headlights you can find amazing deals on a used bike. The only differences are an auto-blipper and some mid-range torque. The new one still isn't torque-y and the old one has better dash display options.

      I think the Japanese built, 6 axis IMU, cruise control, Ohlins equipped MT-09SP might have something to say about your comment. The street triple is very dated and lacking features of less expensive bikes.

    I haven’t ridden either of the newest incarnations, but I rode both a street triple and an S1000R long term. Honestly, they’re not really comparable. Both are excellent in their own way.
    The street is a razor blade, flighty, loves getting pushed till it gets out of shape but somehow always still keeps its composure and encourages you to drive like you stole it.
    The SR is sedate, composed and ultra smooth if your taking it easy or running at mediocre pace. I’ve never been on another bike that I actively wanted to take out in the rain. Let the SR loose and it’s fucking mental, fast enough to scare the shit out of most people.
    Both are excellent regardless 👍

    I came to the S1000R from a street triple 675. Agree 100% on the handling, it’s a huge upgrade. The BMW is so composed, and takes so little effort to place it exactly where you want it through a turn. It’s like the bike reads your mind and does exactly what you’re thinking. The Triumph was good, but always took a little more attention during a turn, and the suspension was more easily upset by bumps or sudden line changes.

    Watching your videos and listening to your footage of the Street RS helped me pull the trigger on getting one and I absolutely love it to bits. Totally get that feeling though that one bike is never enough and this year I got a Yamaha R1 and I’m now looking at adding a Ducati or S1000RR to my collection 😂. Thank you for your so down to Earth review. I returned to biking last year (I am a pensioner), and spent ages choosing a bike. I nearly chose a street triple. However I test rode a BMWR1250R and was very impressed. I can also carry my wife on the back. It has incredible low down torque (dont really need to drop gear on the open road), and is almost a perfect road bike. Solid, steers well, and superb acceleration at 'legal' speeds. It also routinely returns 63 a genuine mpg. It is a very relaxing bike to ride, casually or aggressively.

    Not sure if you remember us chatting about a year ago Ryan. I was test riding a good few bikes. 1200RS and the S1000R included.
    I had an MT07 and was asking you about the 765RS, I then took out the S1000R. Going from an MT07 to the S1000R mid speed just give me anxiety because I just couldn’t stop hammering that throttle into Warp power 😂.
    So glad I went for the 765RS, I love everything about it and has helped me to really gain confidence, especially in corners.
    I’m test riding the Panagale V2 on the 27th. Heart is set in ot without even testing it 😜😎

    I recently test rode an s1000rr race, while looking to upgrade from my street triple rs. While the new mineral grey livery is absolutely gorgeous, I was less impressed with the bike than I thought I'd be. Of course, the demo bike had under 1000k on the odo and I couldn't open her up properly on my test ride route, but a few issues still stood out to me over my 30min ride:
    1. The gearbox felt very mushy compared to my street triple. There wasn't that satisfying click that I'm so used to and it was frustratingly hard to find neutral. Brakes weren't as good as the Brembo M50 on the Triumph, in terms of feel and stopping power.
    2. Vibration is much much worse on the s1000rr. You get some in the seat which was uncomfortable at first but you soon get used too. But the mirrors were basically useless. People dismiss bar end mirrors for being less practical but the ones on my RS always work perfectly. With the s1000rr I could only see a blurry mess.
    3. Build quality is less than impressive. I bought my 2017 street triple rs for less than half the price of the BMW. And I can honestly say its fit and finish are on the same level if not better. The dealership had an s1000r M sport on their floor and the white paint makes it look even more plastic-y. IMO, Triumph just has that air of elegance to their bikes. The BMW, while highly technically advanced, felt very function over form.
    4. Even with the factory-fitted Akrapovic exhaust the s1000rr sounds suffocated (Euro 5) and I much prefer the sound of my rs with the sc project s1 slip-on. Being a litre bike there are also less opportunities to open her up and hear the roar, whereas the street triple screams all day at the speed limit. If sound is your thing, go middleweight.
    There were good things as well such as the incredible mid-range torque and high-speed stability around corners. My '17 rs doesn't have an auto-blipper or cruise control like the s1000rr. And both are incredible features to have on a bike. The electronic suspension auto-adjusts as you go, making the ride more comfortable on poorly-maintained roads. But ultimately these features don't justify the 29k (AUD) price tag to me and for my style of riding (mostly commuting in the city, mountain twities on weekends) the rs is the better bike for me.

    • @THEREALZENFORCE
      @THEREALZENFORCE 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You compare a liter sports bike S1000RR (not even the S1000R naked) to a nake bike Street Triple RS 765 :-) For similar money as the Triumph RS 765, the Duke 890R, MT-09SP are better bikes. Also the electronic auto-suspension are better on the S1000RR and S1000R than on the RS 765.
      The real competition in similar price range of the RS 765 are Duke 890R, Duke 890GP, MT-09SP, Z900 SE, GSX-S1000 (aka tough competition).
      And your 29k AUD not justified for the S1000RR, near in mind that a Brock Performance S1000RR did the world record quarter mile (stock wheel base) at 8.72 seconds, the RS 765 does it in 10.79 seconds (which is very good for such a small engine). Try a 890R or MT-09SP (or if you want top quality build the CB1000R Black Edition (way better built than the RS 765 which is still a good bike)

    I like you felt the need for change of bike . I had the street tripe rs for almost 4 years .I narrowed it down to the ninja1000sx. Bmw r1200rs , aprillia tuono base and the triumph speed twin.. I immediately had to rule out the Aprillia because the closest dealer was 130 miles away. The ninja 1000sx is non existent is the unites states no dealers have them . So i was down to the speed twin and the bmw r12000rs. Triumph wanted $600 for destination and 1000 for a bike set up fee. I wanted the speed twin but that put that bike up to 14k for a modern classic. While at bmw I was looking at the r1200rs . I sat on the s1000r. It felt right ..I liked the features ..I bought it on the spot ..i think your video sums up the difference perfectly, but sometimes getting a new bike is fun. ...side note changing the exhaust on this bike for a better sound scares me because it runs so well as is. I'm not sure I want to spend $1000s to improve sound. And I don't want an obnoxious sounding bike. Lol I need more research I'm curious to see how yours comes out

However, the power and torque delivery of the Kawa's inline-four is much more exciting for the street and road. One has to feel the difference.. Never regretted the change. Maybe my next primary bike will be an S1000R Beamer.

    Why the naked over the S1000RR? I have a little Ducati 800 cafe racer which is more or less a naked with a slightly more crouched forward riding position, and it's great fun on country roads, but once you're at 80mph plus, the windblast deters riding it faster (not necessarily a bad thing what with speed cameras galore in the UK and punitive points and fines penalties). I have been tempted by the S1000RR mainly as the wind protection the fairing offers would be great on motorways or track days, but I'm a 'mature' rider, and realistically I don't have the reflexes and skills riding I did at 21, so heart aside, the bike I have is fast enough. But, I know what you mean about just wanting a different bike from time to time.

    Thank you for your reasons. However, with what you loved about the Street Triple and the extra mid range pull that most litre bikes have and taking into the consideration of your love for the street then this leads to the most obvious question. Why not the Speed Triple? It has more mid range the the BMW and still retains the soundtrack of a 3 cylinder? 🤔

    • @kiwicanuck5459
      @kiwicanuck5459 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was in a similar situation with my 765 RS, i ended with the Speed 1200 RS due to it having everything i loved with the street but turned up a notch, i would think the speed has a lot more low and mid range than the 1000R, just being a triple vs inline 4. You dont need to gear down or keep the revs up to chase the power with the 1200 RS.
