    Cheers for the show. I got a G8 BF Fairlane 5.4 3v. I have been almost driven nuts on what the hell is going on. Everything has been replaced especially for the ECU. ?? Turns out it the O ring gasket that has a spring around it joined to the begging of the air intake system from the air filter to the black plastic box that is only pushed on top of the ECU control unit that operates the the how system with the maf sensor inside it. Personally a bad bad design as it’s just not in my opinion good enough for the job it has to do. Especially getting hot and cold kills that O ring fast. But I changed the design a little and it has been beautiful with perfect air intake amounts on all revs with all systems. Cheers buddy good luck with the cool Ford BA. ❤️🇦🇺👍

    Cool video mate. I've just done this job on my BA. I went about it differently....I didn't remove the throttle body, I removed the section of manifold it is bolted to (it's another gasket to replace, but it's only 10 bux at Repco), then removed the fuel rail and injectors and I had easy access to all bolts from above (no need to climb under the car or remove starter motor). I think it saved a lot of time and stress and made it real easy to get the manifold bolts back in.

    Mate,When you take out filter box you will have easy acess to all bolts on botom and disconet injectors and rail from system.I have done this job,but if you remove injectors it is important to change new O rings and filter gaskets in injectors.Locking bolts for intake should be 20Nm with blue thredlocker two times from in the midle to out by specification.

    • @aussiebackyardmechanics7946
      @aussiebackyardmechanics7946  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Miss firing under load would more likely be bad spark plugs or coils mate ! But the symptoms you would get with a bad inlet manifold gasket is high idol/running rough using HEAPS of fuel ! I have another vid of a way you can check to see if you have a bad inlet manifold gasket !

    Great vid mate, planning on doing mine over the weekend (hence watching your vid now). I've seen this done a couple of ways. One guy took the top of the manifold off to allow more access to the bolts on the head. Do you reckon that would make much difference?
