  • It's a very quick video, you could probably watch it in the time it takes you read the description. But just in case TH-cam needs this info for searching purposes...! It's a tip for making quick drawing views on your drawing sheet IDW DWG view base projected detail and other such words to satisfy the paranoia inducing algorythm.

    Had such hopes for this app but only disappointment. It does exactly what you say so that is not an error. But what I was hoping for was to have the new drawing view to be connected to the assembly. Put a balloon on it and it is #1. Not what it is in the bom. Still going to have to make ALL THOSE STUPID VIEW REPS and bring them in manually. Ah nuts.

    I cant get the "quick view" App to show in the ribbon bar (Place views) in both Inventor 2019 & 2020, do you have to use the "customise user commands" to populate the ribbon bar ? Downloaded it ok from the app store and shows up in the Autodesk App manger ok and up to date, any ideas?

    I have updated my browser nodes in inventor to show the part numbers for frame members. But when I am trying to place a view using QuickViews it still shows the original node name, in my case, it is a frame generated part and the original node name was ISO 50x50x2 now my whole assembly is made out of different units of the same rectangular tube. How can the quickviews interface be updated to show the corrected bower node/part number of the items?

      Its a real company production title block, I just deleted out the company name & logo and other specific info. I've already done a video on how to make a similar one here th-cam.com/video/a8BOXQenA9A/w-d-xo.html

    Thanx for the review! Do you know of a add-in that automatically populates d-sized drawing sheets with multiple views of selected parts? That's what I want. I want something that automatically creates drawings like Tekla does, especially for flat patterns and individual part details.

    do you have any videos on the drawing interface how to do views where the label allows you to put the drawing ID that its on?
    i tried to replicate some shop drawings and it was done in autocad with blocks for the view section ID for cross sections etc.
    i just couldn't quite replicate it with out having to open the dwg in autocad.
    page one was just front, top and side but they had the little icon on the plan view showing what direction the other 2 views were in relation. i had to draw that in, so yeah just wondering what i can learn or what tools are available to have more control of the view IDs etc
    sorry if thats confusing, it confused me also haha

    Can this app add flat pattern views of sheet metal parts?

    • @Neil3D
      @Neil3D  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, all it does is launch the base view command against each part and the flat pattern view is within the options of the view creation dialog... so if you've already got a flat pattern generated and you pick that part, the flat pattern layout is there and works fine

    I spent the day being infuriated by exploded ipn drawings.
    Explode assembly. Create snapshot. Make drawing view. Adjust design. Edit explosion time line to take new parts or updates into account. Update snapshot (which seems to look updated). Return to drawing and update everything - AND IT DOESN'T UPDATE TO THE SNAPSHOT, even after saving.
    What's going on mate?!

    Ah well ! no point me downloading it then. Looks a very useful app but not for me! As Hubert says: we need it to retain the bom structure not number everything as ( 1 ) Cheers Neil. . . . Jim
