You are going to have to find a resource on developing a new template for your drawing file. I have done it before but it is easier to find another resource.

I believe I had to do it on the template by inserting an image. Then I just made sure it had a white background

Autodesk software is so annoying. Unlike intuitive software, you are required to confirm everything you do once or twice. Clicking the right button, then "create" is a complete waste of time.
