I think Momon has just too high stats to fail against anyone, as he might get extra dice for his rolls from some skill or power. So he might be just dumb sometimes, but the extra points from dice plus the flat numbers from his stats beat anyone.
TLDR. She was scared of his power and accidental genius. And he was nervous because without the bias the npcs had mixed with her genius she’d see right through his act and out him as a normal guy in a overlord costume.

One thing worth mentioning about Renner is that she's not an NPC with settings that make her evil. She's just naturally evil and psychopathic. Ainz would be far more wary of someone like that
As I see it, the Floor guardians and servants are completely bound to Ainz. Just like Albeto is in love with him simply because of her settings the rest of the guardians can only see his actions as they've been programmed to. Renner on the other hand doesn't have 'rose coloured glasses' on. She's the one person who is smart enough, close enough, not to mention free too see Ainz as he truly is. What's worse is she's totally nuts. I'd say give it time. When she bores of her current toy she'll begin to look outward for new entertainment...
Ainz IS smart but I think sometimes people who enjoy the series forget that when it comes to the manipulation aspect of it all that is always carried out by Shaltear, Demiurge, or Albeado. 9/10 times without his knowledge. He knows how to adapt and take advantage of a situation sure. But he has no idea how that situation happened until told to him.
Realistically though, I think Renner would probably end up getting curbstomped by every NPC in Nazarick for blasphemy if she ever tried to insinuate that Ainz isn't as smart as they think he is.
Yeah, it almost doesn't even matter if she does realize Ainz isn't a genius. She wouldn't be able to do anything with that knowledge except keep it to herself. Plus she already has what she wants anyway.
basically renner is scared of ains because she believes his move to fight climb was to set albedo against her (albedo not being happy renner "set ains up" to fight) meaning there would be more pressure and need to prove herself as she would now have someone constantly looking out for any mistake she may make. Ains is scared of her because he sees her as someone new who can see through his ruse
Ainz doesn't fear Renner, he doesn't trust her at all as she was willing to betray her whole kingdom. He acknowledges her cunning and deeply respects it which is also a contributing factor as to why he won't trust her and will always keep an eye on her.
This is how companies works too. If they see a man transfer to them from an another company with no good reason, they'll see it as suspicious and keep their guard up.
I am pretty sure I read a part of one of the LNs where Ains specifically says he wants to avoid interaction with her as much as possible, which is also why he stationed her in a part of nazarick he doesn't freqwuent often. He believes that if given the chance, being the genius she is, she could see right through his act and expose him to the NPC's, which he considers the worst scenario imaginable. In that sense, she is his greatest threat in all of the new world, as outside forces do not seem to be able to rival Nazarick, while she is an insider capable of disillusioning the NPCs. Now, wether or not the NPCs would actually revolt even if they knew the truth is an entirely different matter. It is Ainz's greatest fear and worry, but, considering th NPCs personality, it is doubtful they would. (The next part is speculation of LN readers) Funnily enough, Albedo as a batshit insane yandere might try to lock him up in a golden cage if she figured it out. "He is not a genius, so since I am smarter than my beloved Ainz, I will micromanage his entire life for the rest of time." The NPCs might dethrone him and not listen to his commands, instead taking control and locking him up, so nobnody can ever endanger their beloved master ever again. Essentially, endless captivity by his NPCs, who fanatically adore him. I do not think albedo would even allow him to die.
I think the reaction of the guardians would be varied but overall positive. He's still Ains Ooal Gown/Momonga. He might not be a genius like they thought he was but he's still very smart and to his own credit an extremely good PvP player. So while the guardians as a whole might give him a tough time, he beat his own counter (Shalltear), which is proof of his prowess. So ultimately he would get a reputation hit but the guardians would in all likeliness remain loyal to him.

In the anime you see the establishment of the orphanage, and you hear about how she sacrifices the kids, but it isn’t explained that it’s because she has to lower her karma enough to be able to use the Seed of the Fallen. Implied by this is that Climb will have to commit terrible acts to remain her servant. He’s one of the most tragic characters in the show.
I feel like he will be made to kill Theocracy younglings to prove his loyalty and lower his super high karma. I'm looking forward to the potential training of him by Cocytys and/or Sebas. So much potential, so little volumes to do it in.
Ains isnt stupid as some people believe. Hes actually rather smart, but his intellect pales in front of albedo and demiurge (literally designed to be immortal geniuses.) What makes Ains relevant in their discussions is his ability to learn and adapt. Renner is scared of Ains mostly for his reputation, as she herself knows that albedo and demiurge are smarter than her, or at least around the same level, and yet those two hail Ains as the smartest being in existence. Therefore when Ains acts in ways renner isnt expecting, she assumes that he is making an intellectual play that she cannot understand, hence the fear. Since she definitely cant influence nazarick with her physical strength, her only options are the schemes and manipulations that shes so used to in the way of royal court life, and if those fall through she knows that Ains can easily strip her of everything shes wanted and worked towards with a few words. Ains reasons for being wary of Renner, note that I do not state 'fear' but more of a cautious approach, is because of her readiness to betray others for what she desires, and the behavior she exhibits is cruel enough to impress nazaricks floor guardians. natural. the fact shes NOT an NPC and programmed to hate humans, or enjoy killing, and yet still happily disregards her humanity and causes deaths of innocent people. Even if both did fear each other, Ains would never have to deal with her personally if he did not wish to, and Renner would definitely get insta killed for treason if she tried to spread infamy about Ains around nazarick.

Nah. Before that, Ainz will turn to be exactly what he is supposed to. As you can see, from the beggining, Ainz moved from his way to save 2 human girls, but time passing, he killed a whole kingdom, and all of his actions turned to be extremely lucky. In somepoint, he will just turn into the supreme learder villain. As you can see, with the time, he's becoming clever, smarter, stronger and evil.

The master can’t read their opponents next moves and the novice fall uphill towards success. The phrase, “They can’t know our plans if we don’t have one” fits well here
Renner was raised in a fiefdom. Her family has a long history of plotting against eachother. With momonga, she had gotten what she wanted her whole life. Care, love and safety for herself and HER chosen family. Renner is not true evil, which (in example) separates her from Demurge, who willfully and purposefully redefines "good" to fit his predispositions.
She's chaotic evil. If she wants something it doesn't matter what or who is in the way, they can die and any action can be taken. That being said, people acting like her sacrificing the kingdom is some huge deal is weird to me. This is a woman who would be able to pit countries against each other if she was ever given the throne. One kingdom is the best outcome the new world could ask for, honestly.

Renner is pure and utter pragmatism with no regards for morality in any way. The closest Renner ever comes to having any sort of thought concerning "honor" is that she is actually and truly thankful to Ainz and genuinely has respect for him, but it's not enough to say she's lawful. Ainz, also, is nearly pure and utter pragmatism, just that he has a sort of codex and rules he would only break if really necessary (like betraying allies / friends or not keeping his word), thus he is lawful evil. That is the difference between lawful, neutral, and chaotic evil.

He is lucky, but luck isn't an Yggrasil stat. Even if it were, many games don't use luck with magic so there would be a decent chance Satoru wouldn't have increased it for Momonga.
@@IlIWarGIlI Yeah, in *most* games. But the character stats in Yggrasil were; HP, MP, PHY.ATK, PHY.DEF, Agility, MAG.ATK, MAG.DEF, Resist and Special. Luck wasn't something that could be raised on Momonga, outside a spell called Greater Luck that was never explained. In most MMOs where Luck is a stat that can be raised, it tends to be more involved with resisting and procing status effects, as well as crit chance. Increased drop rates from Luck tend to be more a single player based game, like Dark Souls.

its weird that Ainz would readily kill people he could easily manipulate, but he keeps someone whos a danger to him alive 🥲 he could've easily killed her instead regardless, if renner is so smart that she finds out Ainz isnt a mastermind, she will still have plenty of reasons to fear him and every being in nazarick above lvl 50...even if she spent her entire life gathering people to kill Ainz, they wouldn't even be able to scratch the lvl 100's
@@jotarokujo4250 Yes, Shalltear Bloodfallen is level 100 and on paper should be able to beat Momanga in a 1 on 1 fight (which he gave because of the attachment to the NPC's), but due to strategy he was able to solo here. If it was an outsider rather than one of the level 100's they aren't going to be up to level for him. If it came to trying to pig pile him he has the armies of Nazarick to call on.
I love how Ainz's incompetencies have been able to come outas actual competency. Particularly love how its done so much better than how most anime just do it as such a cliche of the main character being percieved as intelligent without in any way earning it
Well, it’s also a little hard to question the guy who can singlehandedly destroy the entire New World. The only beings capable of ever challenging him are on his side, and as long as everything somehow falls into place, he’s pretty much unmatched.

The thing is, Ainz thinks he doesn't know what he's doing, that's from his human consciousness, but in reality, he spent a lot of points on intelligence, probably maxed, just for his casting build, that intelligence acts unconscious from him, like an auto-pilot. He is a genius but he's the only one who is not aware of it

Renner is true about one thing about Ainz, and its that he is unpredictable , but that is mostly because of what she believes others say about him, its called "manifestation" i think, a psychological trick in a sense a person inflicts upon himself, kinda like how placebos work
Even if Ainz said that he is not some mastermind but a clueless idiot, Nazarick people will think that it's some kind of test, like he is telling them to do things on their own without his plans etc. Even a deep heart to heart conversation is not guaranteed to get through them.
I kinda expect Renner to betray her kingdom but I did not expect that she will join Nazarik and another thing, this is just a funny prespective of mine since Ainz are a pro gamer that he quickly adapt on what's happening around him and try his best to act accordingly. If I have to give an opinion I'd say Ainzs is like Swindler (Akudama) having a talent he himself doesn't realize cause without a doubt Ainzs has an abnormal level of intelligence no matter how I see it.
I think even if she does figure out exactly what's going on she still probably wouldn't say/do anything cause even if his character is but a facade his power and the loyalty and power of his underlings is real

I don't believe him to be afraid of Renner because "she might discover his true self" , she is no big deal for him , he can erase her memories or kill her or whatever he wants.
I believe Ainz is smart, or at least smart enough to study the enemies, use the right spells, prepare for combat, lead an army knowing every single one's strengths and weaknesses. He's even smart enough to play the ruler's role and manipulate others. However, it's just that he feels uncomfortable in public settings, and thinks that he is weak at diplomacy. And also he doesn't really plan to conquer the world but his subordinates are doing things behind his back because they think he wants to take over the world, so he doesn't know how they would react to each of his moves. TLDR, Ainz is a smart and strategic person. He just does not really plan to rule the world but others expect him to, so it feels like he doesn't know what to do all the time. He's not dumb.
Renner thinks Ainz can see through her schemes and fought Climb himself as an example that he knew what she was planning and wanted her to know what would happen if she crossed him. Ainz is scared of Renner because he realises just how intelligent she is and has no bias towards him, meaning he fears she might see through his lack of planning. Renner has genuine reasons to fear Ainz, but not for the ones she thinks she should. Ainz on the other hand has zero reason to fear Renner because her fear of him will keep her in check.
I mean, even if Renner managed to figure out that Ainz was just putting on an act, what would she even be able to *do?* it's not like she'd be able to end his life particularly easily, if at all, and Ainz is probably at least smart enough to figure out when someone who has a history of duplicity is trying to pull a fast one on him.
What truly tragic is that ions is trying to see the better of humanity, while humanity keeps showing its worse intentions, even each truly wanted to let the last king live if it wasn’t for the fact that all the men that served under him betrayed him. Rener’s brother could’ve survived had not been for his men’s betrayal.
There is this fan novel of Overlord where it explains there that Ainz IS actually smart. He just isn't consiously aware of it. It says there that once he became his character he got his character's stats and being a caster type char his Int stat is actually way way up there. This influences his decisions albeit subconsciously. So when he makes these random ass decisions there are actually smart choices.
Ainz is being combat come from game but his action and emotion were influence by the body he process right now. His action are no coincidence or luck it was his own doing without him realizing it.
I think personally the NPCs don’t care if Ainz was not as smart as they expected. Frankly it’s himself that wants to live up to their expectations as their the precious children essentially of his friends. While to them, he’s the only one who stayed while everyone else abandoned them eventually. Some of them might love their creators but at the end of the day eventually they stopped coming back. Ainz was the only one who stayed, which could be part of the source of their adoration for him.
Rainere has a greater plan than simply becoming a demon. Remember that she had Kline hide the crown jewels and heirlooms before the city fell so they would not fall into Nazarickian hands. Presumably the reason is that her long term plans involved her needing these items at some future date, such as if/when she regained control of the kingdom. Having the physical symbols of state in her possession would help a lot to reassert her authority in that situation. Ainz is thinking 2 moves ahead (usually 0 moves ahead, lol), but I think Rainere is thinking 10 moves ahead, she is actually playing a long game, as she has all her life. One more interesting thing that occurred to me: Ainz is an anagram of Nazi. And he also happens to have chosen an avatar that looks suspiciously like a certain German historical figure when he created his guild guardian NPC 😮. Things that make you go hmmm.....especially with the master race mentality going on in Nazarick, not to mention the death camps using undesirables for skins and body parts, with all sorts of wierd sadistic experimentation on people going on. So I think Ainz is modeled after Hitler and Nazi Germany's vision of the future. The takeover of neighborhood kingdoms mimics the sort of things Germany was doing leading up to the second world war as well.
If so, then Demiurge is Himmler, Cocytus is Goering, Albedo is Borman, Aura/Mare is Speer, Sebas is Ribbentrop, the Pleiades and others are assorted SS enforcers and camp commandants, Shalltear is Heydrich
So I've been thinking about it. Things work out for Ains is because he has a skill called elder known or something. It was originally just an ingame stat buff with flavor txt saying it increased his knowledge of all things. I know I'm botching what it actually says but that is the main jist of it. This skill is probably in effect passively and thats how he seems to always make the right play even if he doesn't realizes it. Plz correct me if I'm wrong but that makes sense to me.
If I'm not wrong, Ainz is indeed smart as hell, but he doesn't know it, it's similar to the evil stats that he has and change his personality. It is, in this case, his smart stat makes him do or plan things that end up helping him achieve his goal indirectly.

Suzuki Satoru was a ordinary human. Just like any human in new world. But when he became Ainz his stats from game made him strong, fast, powerful. Strength, as far as I remember, increasing strength and HP, for example. But how Intelligence stat influence him? Just increasing his mana? Or increasing something else too? for example cognitive capabilities. He may have just powerful subconsciousness, which made him take perfect actions by intuition. And as caster, his intelligence stats on top in Nazarick. It's like old DOS program "Satoru" runs in modern gaming PC "Ainz".
Ainz will always have the advantage, not only because he is the protagonist... but because he is a protagonist like John-117 from Halo. They have insane luck added to their good intelligence (Ainz is no fool, he is smart but feels overwhelmed by Albedo and Demiurge).
Renner saw through Ainz instantly. She was just smart enough to know the absolute God-their zealot soldiers and his own insane power. It would have been worse than suicide to question his legitimacy.
I think Ainz/Momonga is actually very intelligent, more than Demiurge and Albedo because magic is tied to intelligence, plus he has luck, what's happening here is that he doubts his own intelligence, ask anyone you think is very intelligent, they'll tell you they don't really believe they are intelligent, some even downplay it further. So Ainz is very intelligent but has extreme luck, I believe it's called "Imposter Syndrome". Ainz is overthinking, he might not know Renner's true plans but if anything ever comes up to the surface either him or his 2 guys will beat her. But Renner is also overthinking, either way whether she knows or not, doesn't really matter, all the NPCs have code that tells them to 100% believe in their creators, they can't go against that except for Shalltear who we know doesn't have that code or was removed by her creator before the time she fought with Ainz. She cunning and crafty yes but I doubt she has any real advantage against Ainz that can't be countered by Ainz or his subordinates. Either way she got what she wanted, her play thing climb. The only way I see her threatening Ainz is by creating her own demon army or turning climb into a very very powerful demon. Without the code that prevents NPCs from turning from Ainz, climb could defeat Ainz and the subordinates easily. But Ainz is likely too powerful. If climb can become powerful on his own then convert into a demon and grow in strength then it's possible. Or if she finds a way to rewrite NPC code through some magic ability, maybe. Otherwise if Ainz truly fears her, his fears are unfounded. He's powerful with an equally loyal and powerful army. It'd be near impossible(not impossible but near it).
If Ainz ever suspected Renner knew the truth, he could just use dominate to learn how she figured it out and then alter her memory to replace the events that made her realize this. Thats if he didnt just outright kill her.

Funny enough the theory is that Ainz's Stats Subconsciously affect him. If alignment system can define the morals (Such as ainz not being phased by murder presumed because of his Karma being negative) Any accident or strange conclusion he comes to could be a byproduct of his int stat pushing him into these actions without him knowing.
Renner is very smart but she won't be a problem because her brain is focused on climb, Ainz is overthinking i mean he is still wary of demiurge from time to time. But u have to remember renner and demiurge being smart is the main reason why they will be loyal to ainz, cause even if they realize he's just winging it, they know that ainz can kill em anytime and anywhere.
When i watched the show (meaning i dont know the source material, keep it in mind) i had that feeling that Ains being clueless is sort of self dellusion. As if he himself didnt notice that among changes he went through there were also massive boost to intelligence (perhaps to reflect his ingame stats?) and attributed that to simple luck. Not to the 10k years foresight level of course, but still enough to be one of the most intelligent characters in the verse. And that comes from the simple fact he did some things that no Joe Schmoe would come up with. Like: His speech to Xanac Realisation that selflessness is suspicious to villagers Keeping his resurrection capabilities secret until he got more intel on the world Locating Clementine Practicing presentation and mannerism Convincing adventurers guild master to his vision of their future And more that dont come to mind atm
Renner DIDN'T want to become a demon... She wanted to live forever with her puppy (Climb). Becoming a demon was the option given to her In exchange for her cooperation. (The pacific demon she became is an imp, by the way).
Ainz fear Renner bcuz she the only one that nit blind by they loyalty to him and fear that she can she his true self, a mediocre man. And Renner fear Ainz bcuz even thought she concluded from brief interaction she have with Ainz that he is mediocre man but since two of the smartest person she know that is Demiurge and Albedo revered him as the smartest person alive she felt fear in Ainz since she misunderstood that Ainz able to deceive her smart mind easily thus make her feel how scary Ainz truly is.
I think Ainz sees Climb as compensation for Gazoff, so he'll be inclined to keep the kid around which will accidentally insure Renner unwavering loyalty
Overlord is basically dnd inspired, he might be roleplaying in his perspective and in our perspective but remember he's an undead skeleton overlord which basically a high level lich like Vlaakith in dnd equivalent. In conclusion he's really a genius like all natural high level undead lich which is he's unaware of.
If he viewed her that way he would have simply removed her ainz is known as paranoid pragmatic I can't see him leaving that type of potential threat. Not like the NPCs would question his motivation
I actually think the "luck" ainz has, is not luck at all, you see his character has this lore as a master mind undead, i think w.o realizing the human that lioves within ainz, don't realize his actions are guided by the massive intellect that lies within his character.
Renner was GOOD to play evil. His knowledge based on realistic and logical. But both Renner and ainz overthinking 😂. This overthinking was overlord theme. It creates more humour to us

It won't happen, or better to say, very unlikely to happen. The servers of Ygdrassil were shutting down as he was transported to the new world, so he might as well be the last player to be isekaied there. Unless transportation can happen from a point previous to the time of the game closure, but that would be convoluted
He probably sees himself in her. Like looking into a mirror. Treacherous, manipulative, murderous, unrepentantly evil. Ainz is all of those thing. Maybe that scared him.
Ainz fears renner because she is not an NPC that has automatic loyalty or control built into her. The other NPC correct and fix ainz mistake and rationalize that he is a mastermind because they are subserviant to Ainz and Nazarik. Renner is not an NPC and coded to do those things so she has the foresight to analyze things from an unbias perspective.
The funniest part is overthinking is exactly why they fear each other.

I think Momon has just too high stats to fail against anyone, as he might get extra dice for his rolls from some skill or power. So he might be just dumb sometimes, but the extra points from dice plus the flat numbers from his stats beat anyone.
TLDR. She was scared of his power and accidental genius. And he was nervous because without the bias the npcs had mixed with her genius she’d see right through his act and out him as a normal guy in a overlord costume.

As I see it, the Floor guardians and servants are completely bound to Ainz. Just like Albeto is in love with him simply because of her settings the rest of the guardians can only see his actions as they've been programmed to.
Renner on the other hand doesn't have 'rose coloured glasses' on. She's the one person who is smart enough, close enough, not to mention free too see Ainz as he truly is. Ainz IS smart but I think sometimes people who enjoy the series forget that when it comes to the manipulation aspect of it all that is always carried out by Shaltear, Demiurge, or Albeado. 9/10 times without his knowledge. Ainz doesn't fear Renner, he doesn't trust her at all as she was willing to betray her whole kingdom. He acknowledges her cunning and deeply respects it which is also a contributing factor as to why he won't trust her and will always keep an eye on her.
This is how companies works too. If they see a man transfer to them from an another company with no good reason, they'll see it as suspicious and keep their guard up.
I am pretty sure I read a part of one of the LNs where Ains specifically says he wants to avoid interaction with her as much as possible, which is also why he stationed her in a part of nazarick he doesn't freqwuent often. He believes that if given the chance, being the genius she is, she could see right through his act and expose him to the NPC's, which he considers the worst scenario imaginable.
In that sense, she is his greatest threat in all of the new world, as outside forces do not seem to be able to rival Nazarick, while she is an insider capable of disillusioning the NPCs.
Now, wether or not the NPCs would actually revolt even if they knew the truth is an entirely different matter. It is Ainz's greatest fear and worry, but, considering th NPCs personality, it is doubtful they would.

I think the reaction of the guardians would be varied but overall positive. He's still Ains Ooal Gown/Momonga. He might not be a genius like they thought he was but he's still very smart and to his own credit an extremely good PvP player. So while the guardians as a whole might give him a tough time, he beat his own counter (Shalltear), which is proof of his prowess.
So ultimately he would get a reputation hit but the guardians would in all likeliness remain loyal to him.

In the anime you see the establishment of the orphanage, and you hear about how she sacrifices the kids, but it isn’t explained that it’s because she has to lower her karma enough to be able to use the Seed of the Fallen. Implied by this is that Climb will have to commit terrible acts to remain her servant. He’s one of the most tragic characters in the show.
I feel like he will be made to kill Theocracy younglings to prove his loyalty and lower his super high karma. I'm looking forward to the potential training of him by Cocytys and/or Sebas. So much potential, so little volumes to do it in.

Ains isnt stupid as some people believe. Hes actually rather smart, but his intellect pales in front of albedo and demiurge (literally designed to be immortal geniuses.) What makes Ains relevant in their discussions is his ability to learn and adapt. Renner is scared of Ains mostly for his reputation, as she herself knows that albedo and demiurge are smarter than her, or at least around the same level, and yet those two hail Ains as the smartest being in existence. Therefore when Ains acts in ways renner isnt expecting, she assumes that he is making an intellectual play that she cannot understand, hence the fear. Since she definitely cant influence nazarick with her physical strength, her only options are the schemes and manipulations that shes so used to in the way of royal court life, and if those fall through she knows that Ains can easily strip her of everything shes wanted and worked towards with a few words.
Ains reasons for being wary of Renner, note that I do not state 'fear' but more of a cautious approach, is because of her readiness to betray others for what she desires, and the behavior she exhibits is cruel enough to impress nazaricks floor guardians. natural. the fact shes NOT an NPC and programmed to hate humans, or enjoy killing, and yet still happily disregards her humanity and causes deaths of innocent people.
Even if both did fear each other, Ains would never have to deal with her personally if he did not wish to, and Renner would definitely get insta killed for treason if she tried to spread infamy about Ains around nazarick.

As you can see, from the beggining, Ainz moved from his way to save 2 human girls, but time passing, he killed a whole kingdom, and all of his actions turned to be extremely lucky. Renner was raised in a fiefdom. Her family has a long history of plotting against eachother. With momonga, she had gotten what she wanted her whole life. Care, love and safety for herself and HER chosen family. Renner is not true evil, which (in example) separates her from Demurge, who willfully and purposefully redefines "good" to fit his predispositions.
She's chaotic evil. If she wants something it doesn't matter what or who is in the way, they can die and any action can be taken. That being said, people acting like her sacrificing the kingdom is some huge deal is weird to me. This is a woman who would be able to pit countries against each other if she was ever given the throne. One kingdom is the best outcome the new world could ask for, honestly.

He is lucky, but luck isn't an Yggrasil stat. Even if it were, many games don't use luck with magic so there would be a decent chance Satoru wouldn't have increased it for Momonga.

Luck wasn't something that could be raised on Momonga, outside a spell called Greater Luck that was never explained.
In most MMOs where Luck is a stat that can be raised, it tends to be more involved with resisting and procing status effects, as well as crit chance. Increased drop rates from Luck tend to be more a single player based game, like Dark Souls.

@@jotarokujo4250 Yes, Shalltear Bloodfallen is level 100 and on paper should be able to beat Momanga in a 1 on 1 fight (which he gave because of the attachment to the NPC's), but due to strategy he was able to solo here. If it was an outsider rather than one of the level 100's they aren't going to be up to level for him. If it came to trying to pig pile him he has the armies of Nazarick to call on.

I believe Ainz is smart, or at least smart enough to study the enemies, use the right spells, prepare for combat, lead an army knowing every single one's strengths and weaknesses. He's even smart enough to play the ruler's role and manipulate others. However, it's just that he feels uncomfortable in public settings, and thinks that he is weak at diplomacy. And also he doesn't really plan to conquer the world but his subordinates are doing things behind his back because they think he wants to take over the world, so he doesn't know how they would react to each of his moves.
TLDR, Ainz is a smart and strategic person. He just does not really plan to rule the world but others expect him to, so it feels like he doesn't know what to do all the time. He's not dumb.

Rener’s brother could’ve survived had not been for his men’s betrayal.
There is this fan novel of Overlord where it explains there that Ainz IS actually smart. He just isn't consiously aware of it. It says there that once he became his character he got his character's stats and being a caster type char his Int stat is actually way way up there. This influences his decisions albeit subconsciously. So when he makes these random ass decisions there are actually smart choices.
Ainz is being combat come from game but his action and emotion were influence by the body he process right now. His action are no coincidence or luck it was his own doing without him realizing it.

I think personally the NPCs don’t care if Ainz was not as smart as they expected. Frankly it’s himself that wants to live up to their expectations as their the precious children essentially of his friends. While to them, he’s the only one who stayed while everyone else abandoned them eventually. Some of them might love their creators but at the end of the day eventually they stopped coming back. Ainz was the only one who stayed, which could be part of the source of their adoration for him.
Rainere has a greater plan than simply becoming a demon. Remember that she had Kline hide the crown jewels and heirlooms before the city fell so they would not fall into Nazarickian hands. Presumably the reason is that her long term plans involved her needing these items at some future date, such as if/when she regained control of the kingdom. Having the physical symbols of state in her possession would help a lot to reassert her authority in that situation.
Ainz is thinking 2 moves ahead (usually 0 moves ahead, lol), but I think Rainere is thinking 10 moves ahead, she is actually playing a long game, as she has all her life.
One more interesting thing that occurred to me: Ainz is an anagram of Nazi. And he also happens to have chosen an avatar that looks suspiciously like a certain German historical figure when he created his guild guardian NPC 😮. Things that make you go hmmm.....especially with the master race mentality going on in Nazarick, not to mention the death camps using undesirables for skins and body parts, with all sorts of wierd sadistic experimentation on people going on. So I think Ainz is modeled after Hitler and Nazi Germany's vision of the future. The takeover of neighborhood kingdoms mimics the sort of things Germany was doing leading up to the second world war as well.
If so, then Demiurge is Himmler, Cocytus is Goering, Albedo is Borman, Aura/Mare is Speer, Sebas is Ribbentrop, the Pleiades and others are assorted SS enforcers and camp commandants, Shalltear is Heydrich

So I've been thinking about it. Things work out for Ains is because he has a skill called elder known or something. It was originally just an ingame stat buff with flavor txt saying it increased his knowledge of all things. I know I'm botching what it actually says but that is the main jist of it. This skill is probably in effect passively and thats how he seems to always make the right play even if he doesn't realizes it. Plz correct me if I'm wrong but that makes sense to me.

Suzuki Satoru was a ordinary human. Just like any human in new world. But when he became Ainz his stats from game made him strong, fast, powerful. Strength, as far as I remember, increasing strength and HP, for example. But how Intelligence stat influence him? Just increasing his mana? Or increasing something else too? for example cognitive capabilities. He may have just powerful subconsciousness, which made him take perfect actions by intuition. And as caster, his intelligence stats on top in Nazarick. It's like old DOS program "Satoru" runs in modern gaming PC "Ainz".
I feel like due to the Intelligence stat of Ainz. He is actually smarter than he thinks he is.
Ainz will always have the advantage, not only because he is the protagonist... but because he is a protagonist like John-117 from Halo. They have insane luck added to their good intelligence (Ainz is no fool, he is smart but feels overwhelmed by Albedo and Demiurge).

Renner saw through Ainz instantly. She was just smart enough to know the absolute God-their zealot soldiers and his own insane power. It would have been worse than suicide to question his legitimacy.
I think Ainz/Momonga is actually very intelligent, more than Demiurge and Albedo because magic is tied to intelligence, plus he has luck, what's happening here is that he doubts his own intelligence, ask anyone you think is very intelligent, they'll tell you they don't really believe they are intelligent, some even downplay it further. So Ainz is very intelligent but has extreme luck, I believe it's called "Imposter Syndrome". Ainz is overthinking, he might not know Renner's true plans but if anything ever comes up to the surface either him or his 2 guys will beat her.
But Renner is also overthinking, either way whether she knows or not, doesn't really matter, all the NPCs have code that tells them to 100% believe in their creators, they can't go against that except for Shalltear who we know doesn't have that code or was removed by her creator before the time she fought with Ainz. She cunning and crafty yes but I doubt she has any real advantage against Ainz that can't be countered by Ainz or his subordinates. Either way she got what she wanted, her play thing climb. The only way I see her threatening Ainz is by creating her own demon army or turning climb into a very very powerful demon. Without the code that prevents NPCs from turning from Ainz, climb could defeat Ainz and the subordinates easily. But Ainz is likely too powerful. If climb can become powerful on his own then convert into a demon and grow in strength then it's possible. Or if she finds a way to rewrite NPC code through some magic ability, maybe. Otherwise if Ainz truly fears her, his fears are unfounded. He's powerful with an equally loyal and powerful army. It'd be near impossible(not impossible but near it).

Funny enough the theory is that Ainz's Stats Subconsciously affect him. If alignment system can define the morals (Such as ainz not being phased by murder presumed because of his Karma being negative)
Any accident or strange conclusion he comes to could be a byproduct of his int stat pushing him into these actions without him knowing.
Renner is very smart but she won't be a problem because her brain is focused on climb, Ainz is overthinking i mean he is still wary of demiurge from time to time. But u have to remember renner and demiurge being smart is the main reason why they will be loyal to ainz, cause even if they realize he's just winging it, they know that ainz can kill em anytime and anywhere.
And renner betrayed her kingdom cause she knew they will die, and siding with ainz is the only option where her and climb can be together forever

When i watched the show (meaning i dont know the source material, keep it in mind) i had that feeling that Ains being clueless is sort of self dellusion. As if he himself didnt notice that among changes he went through there were also massive boost to intelligence (perhaps to reflect his ingame stats?) and attributed that to simple luck. Not to the 10k years foresight level of course, but still enough to be one of the most intelligent characters in the verse. And that comes from the simple fact he did some things that no Joe Schmoe would come up with. Like:
His speech to Xanac
Realisation that selflessness is suspicious to villagers
Keeping his resurrection capabilities secret until he got more intel on the world
Locating Clementine
Practicing presentation and mannerism
Convincing adventurers guild master to his vision of their future
And more that dont come to mind atm

Overlord is basically dnd inspired, he might be roleplaying in his perspective and in our perspective but remember he's an undead skeleton overlord which basically a high level lich like Vlaakith in dnd equivalent. If he viewed her that way he would have simply removed her ainz is known as paranoid pragmatic I can't see him leaving that type of potential threat. Not like the NPCs would question his motivation
I'm hoping that the end of overlord is ainz vs "touch me". he was the most hinted at of the other players of the guild.
I actually think the "luck" ainz has, is not luck at all, you see his character has this lore as a master mind undead, i think w.o realizing the human that lioves within ainz, don't realize his actions are guided by the massive intellect that lies within his character.

It won't happen, or better to say, very unlikely to happen.
The servers of Ygdrassil were shutting down as he was transported to the new world, so he might as well be the last player to be isekaied there. Unless transportation can happen from a point previous to the time of the game closure, but that would be convoluted

Ainz fears renner because she is not an NPC that has automatic loyalty or control built into her. The other NPC correct and fix ainz mistake and rationalize that he is a mastermind because they are subserviant to Ainz and Nazarik. Renner is not an NPC and coded to do those things so she has the foresight to analyze things from an unbias perspective.
