My favorite part of part 4 is episode 8. Because everyone couldn't believe that Philip was that stupid. Even in the light novel.
Philip from Overlord is one of the best examples I have ever seen in anime of the Dunning Kruger Effect ,"an effect that occurs when a persons lack of knowledge and skills in a certain area that causes them to overestimate their own competence".
Philip might be the only human to take a flag of the sorcerer kingdom, but he's also the only one to be personally tortured by Albedo to the point death was a mercy.
I remember back in school one of the other students vandalized a wall and drew their name all over it in big letters and it to the school quite a while to find out who did it because no-one believed someone would be that stupid to put their own name on the wall and thought he was getting framed
I love how the only reason Philip got away with any of the shit he did was because everyone thought no one was stupid enough to even try it.
Can you imagine being the one person who caused the downfall of an entire kingdom?
I love the fact that Philips own father asked Albedo to make sure he suffered just as much as they did.
It was almost painful in the LN to read exactly how stupid Phillip was. Well done by the author. I was happy the anime didn't dwell on it, just made the point and got on with the repercussions.
I think Nazarick has met their match this time.
They should name a World Item after him. "The Downfall of Castle and Country" has a nice ring to it.

Ainz is a man who overthinks everything to the point where him attempting a single small victory ends up with a massive success.

I still love the fact Philip got that far because his sheer stupidity made him so unpredictable.
"So how dumb are these Nobles supposed to be ?"
Philip is actually a very interesting foil to Ainz. He shows that Demiurge and Albedo have a consistent blindspot; and that blindspot is a true fool. It should call into question for Demiurge and Albedo that perhaps the reason they can't read Ainz despite being able to read any other being (even each other) isn't because he is so far beyond them but because they are so far beyond Ainz.
Oh poor Philip.
My grandmother had a saying for this.

It's funny how the catalyst for Ainz's declaration of war and the countless lives lost in it is due to someone over-analyzing the intentions of an idiot.
