What i find interesting is how greed in some way was the most human and the most redeemable , yet all the other sins seemed to be beyond redemption entirely. Greed at it's core wanted some form of salvation in its existence.
@@Skeletons_Riding_Ostrichesis not the desire for a good home a strong loving family also greed? Wanting the world to bend to your desire to be peaceful for those you love.
@@codename1176not really. Greed is excess. To always want more. Better home, bigger family etc. wanting to control the world is a bit greedy I suppose
Greed embodied a part of the Dwarf in the Flask's human desires, the one that desired companionship, something that Hohenheim tried to share with him in the past until the Dwarf chose to throw it all away to reach "perfection". How ironic then that the one fatal flaw of the Dwarf's attempt at Godhood (which is ignoring the true strength of sharing yourself with human connection) is what made him truly lose through Greed's sacrifice.
greed became selfless when he realized that what he wanted (friends, love, power) he already had, and all that he needed to do was to protect it. greed still wanted to hold on to what he had, but he stopped grasping for more and he came to the realization that what he already had wasn't just sufficient, but also that it was worth dying for. he never stopped desiring. instead, his desire became properly ordered and fully healthy.

Greed: killed by his own father (twice) Lust: got on mustangs bad side Envy: ALSO got on mustangs bad side Gluttony: killed by his brother Pride: got talk no justud into an infant by Ed and Kimbley Wrath: kicked EVERYONE’S asses and died of old age Sloth: T H E S E H A N D S

Pride: Shamefully tried to run, and was reduced to a helpless and innocent infant. Wrath: Died peacefully after battle. Sloth: Overexertion from years of digging, being frozen, an extended beating, and never tried beyond brute force, being beaten by the most diligent among humanity. Greed: Selflessly sacrificed himself, aand died contented and happy.
For lust’s death: I loved that she probably could’ve taken mustang out. But it was more that she was testing his resolve. He was fully prepared to die to kill her, and she liked the confidence of a man that didn’t just fall for her looks. She didn’t embody lust as a personality, she embodied it objectively. And mustang couldn’t have given less of a fuck if he tried. She was a threat, he dealt with her. She liked that, and stopped before she killed him. For gluttony’s death: I loved that all he really wanted in excess was for someone to care about him, because neither his siblings, nor father did. But lust was more tolerant with him than most. Probably because he couldn’t feel physical attraction. (And I liked that Pride was cursed with his ravenous hunger after absorbing him) For sloths death: I really just loved that he stuck to his guns. He just wanted to sleep, and be easy at all times. He was forced to work because of his size, strength and speed, but at the end of the day, he didn’t give 2 fucks about anything. “Promised day? Please. WHERE MY NAP AT.” And even dying, in his last moment he thought “thinking about dying is a pain….but living to death is even more of a pain…maybe now I can just fucking rest…” For wrath’s death:…his duality of “I don’t know if I’m the same man I was born as, or if I’m just the most vengeful and angry soul that could suppress the rest…but at least I lived my way as best I could, and I had a wife that loved and stood by me” made the aspect of “I hate you all….but I loved her.” So much more powerful. Perfection. For envy’s death: the fact he envied humans for their lives, and how they could fuck up, but push on, and treat every day as a gift, and not have to live with single-minded purpose, but he always tried to put them down because (on paper) he was the superior being…the coming to terms with it in a sobbing mess of tears broke my heart. And worse, he had to hear mustang’s iconic line: “you’re ugly. I get it. Envy is an UGLY sin…makes sense, this is what you look like…” For pride’s death:…the fact he was SO DAMN ARROGANT, that at his weakest, he threw his pride aside to try and rob a human of their body, ONLY FOR A HUMAN TO INTERFERE AND STOP HIM, because he thought “there’s no way a human soul amounts to mine” (WHEN HUMAN SOULS LITERALLY MADE UP HIS BEING, AND ARE THE ONLY REASON HE’S SPECIAL) chefs kiss. And greed’s death?: what can I say…at the end of the day, any broken man knows, all you want is someone that will love you forever and never leave…wanting friends, or family, that loves you for you, and stays by through thick and thin, no matter what…isn’t that what we’re all looking for in the end? I don’t think that makes you greedy…I think it makes you human.

0:42 Then during the final battle, Greed practically dealt a fatal blow to Father as he stabbed him in the stomach. The stab itself wasn't fatal, but he turn himself into carbon from there while destroying Father from the inside. Great foreshadowing.
I know it actually took a long and grueling fight that pushed everybody involved to their absolute limits, but I'm entirely willing to believe Armstrong and Sig showing up, posing, and throwing a punch would be enough to destroy a homunculus. The true power of muscles!
Fun fact - all of the sins died ironically by either being uncharacteristic of their sin (wrath, sloth, greed, pride) or died from something that represents their sin (lust, envy, gluttony)
Lust killed by a man who called her ugly Gluttony eaten Sloth basically worked to death Wrath killed by a man who let go of his anger. Pride killed (reshaped) by somebody who had to reshape his own way of thinking after not being able to save a girl despite being proud of his alchemy Envy finishes itself due to self pity Greed gives up everything he has to save everything he ever wanted. Greed: given to someone else Lust: too hot Gluttony: got ate Sloth: too lazy to keep living Envy: kills himself out of spite Pride: looses his ego and becomes a baby Wrath: killed by Scar, who let go of his anger and pain Greed again: sacrifices himself having gained what he always wanted, true friends
The fact that sloth dies due to the sheer, brute, muscular bromance between Sig and Armstrong was just awesome! Also, definitely a sexual awakening for my stupid ass in my teens😂
I loved how each homuncuous had an ironic death: 1) Greed died selfessly helping others. 2) Lust died by a HOT fire by the hands of a greater lust with the coldest eyes that never loved her. 3) Gluttony duded eaten. 4) Sloth died resting on his back by the slothless guys ever (gym bros). 5) Envy suicided herself out of pity and envy. 6) Pride died by the humblest dude with the help of a greater pride. 7) Wrath died in peace by the hand of a greater wrath.

I don't know if it's the most one sided but it's my favorite one sided fight in all of Anime: Mustang vs Envy. I guess technically it isn't a fight per se but it was an absolute beat down.
It was definitely one of the most powerful "fights" Mustang slowly slipping away and being consumed by his revenge as he unleashes a barrage of war crime worthy attacks one after the other, having envy try to be the chatter box they usually are only to be continuously cut off with the excrutiating pain of being burnt alive, trying to run away and hide as he is pursued by a force that wants to see nothing but them suffer for an eternity as punishment for their crimes
I never fully realised the symbolism behind all their deaths when i first watched this anime but holy shit they gave every single one of them a perfectly fitting deck. Damn i miss this anime.
Greed 1- Boiled down for a valuable gem. Lust- Burned alive, (flames of passion), by a womanizer, (but that’s a front, and he’s protecting his true love interest). Gluttony- Eaten alive. Envy- Green monster exposed for it’s jealousy and offs itself. Sloth- Worn out after a long fight, by two people who work hard to maintain their muscles. Wrath- Dies at peace with himself, at the hands of the one person who’s (righteously), angrier than he is, with a touch of divine intervention after claiming there’s no God. Pride- Underestimates his opponent and somebody he’s previously absorbed, throws away his pride in an attempt to survive and begs for his life. Greed 2- Performs a completely selfless act, while claiming to be satisfied. Father- Pursued knowledge and power, but learned nothing.

They attribute too much philosophical meaning to things that are probably coincidence other than Pride.
@@oceanusprocellarum6853I agree it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the irony.
INCREDIBLE VALOR!!!! RESPECTABLE MUSCLES!!!!!!
*proceeds to give the most manly of handshakes* 😂
Himbo men at their finest! Even Robyn from Anime America said so when she had those guys on her list. ☺️
Reminds me of the movie predator with Arnold and the actor who plays creed in rocky
I love that part.
Imagine those two being played by guys like Nathan Johnson and Hafthor Bjornsonn in live action. Whole audience would get a surge of testosteron 😂
@@iamtheworm1327Manliest handshake in movie history
What i find interesting is how greed in some way was the most human and the most redeemable , yet all the other sins seemed to be beyond redemption entirely.
Greed at it's core wanted some form of salvation in its existence.
Greed is also often seen as the most human of sins, or the biggest.
I remember when we first met Kimblee in the story and I wholy believed he was Pride, and how kinda disappointed I was when we found out he wasnt. But his return at Pride's death roasting him for be unprideful, and having more respect for Ed felt really satisfying. Almost like he would have been a better pride than who we got.
Yes
Greed's death hit so deep. For a being that only knew want, then at the finality of its life realizing it's contentment, not from material possessions or wealth, but from seeing those that cared for him, and sadness in understanding there, over the cliff he was plummeting, that he did care for them too.
Greed: killed by his own father (twice)
Lust: got on mustangs bad side
Envy: ALSO got on mustangs bad side
Gluttony: killed by his brother
Pride: got talk no justud into an infant by Ed and Kimbley
Wrath: kicked EVERYONE’S asses and died of old age
Sloth: T H E S E H A N D S
Lust: Killed by a chivalrous womanizer.
Envy: Killed himself to spite the people he was jealous of.
Gluttony: Eaten by Pride.
It’s going to take more than fire to kill homunculi.
Mustang: “More fire. Got it.”
Well, no, I uhh well, okay then.
It took lots of fire!
(And I liked that Pride was cursed with his ravenous hunger after absorbing him)
For sloths death: I really just loved that he stuck to his guns. He just wanted to sleep, and be easy at all times. He was forced to work because of his size, strength and speed, but at the end of the day, he didn’t give 2 fucks about anything. “Promised day? Please. WHERE MY NAP AT.” And even dying, in his last moment he thought “thinking about dying is a pain….but living to death is even more of a pain…maybe now I can just fucking rest…”
For wrath’s death:…his duality of “I don’t know if I’m the same man I was born as, or if I’m just the most vengeful and angry soul that could suppress the rest…but at least I lived my way as best I could, and I had a wife that loved and stood by me” made the aspect of “I hate you all….but I loved her.” So much more powerful.
I get it. Envy is an UGLY sin…makes sense, this is what you look like…”
For pride’s death:…the fact he was SO DAMN ARROGANT, that at his weakest, he threw his pride aside to try and rob a human of their body, ONLY FOR A HUMAN TO INTERFERE AND STOP HIM, because he thought “there’s no way a human soul amounts to mine” (WHEN HUMAN SOULS LITERALLY MADE UP HIS BEING, AND ARE THE ONLY REASON HE’S SPECIAL) chefs kiss.
And greed’s death?: what can I say…at the end of the day, any broken man knows, all you want is someone that will love you forever and never leave…wanting friends, or family, that loves you for you, and stays by through thick and thin, no matter what…isn’t that what we’re all looking for in the end? I don’t think that makes you greedy…I think it makes you human.

the lust death feels different when u realize roy and lust va in english married each other
Really? Didn’t knew that
Looks like I can finally get you on your knees, after all
World's most...fiery...divorce?
Okay i'm seeing myself out.
Arakawa probably writes the most satisfying paybacks for all her villians. Watching Lust, Envy and Father get punished for all the torment they dished out over the show is absolutely delicious.
Also when Olivier Armstrong snuffed General Raven mob style. Don't EVER mess with that woman.
Ironic how most of the Homunculi deaths were pretty sad.
Not to me.
If you mean i felt bad for most of them, no. If you mean most died in a sad and pathetic state, then very much so yes.
The only one I felt bad was gluttony because he’s just a lost child who follows the orders of father when he’s not trying to kill you he’s wholesome
Greed's death was metal. He was selfless at the moment of death.
Greeds Death hit me the most.
What makes this Moment so powerful is that he is indeed satisfied and didn’t even needed much more than a few Friends by his side.
All those years after watching the show, I still cry when Greed dies. Amazing show.
The amount of EXTRA that has to go in to killing and immortal is astounding and entertaining
The animators fearing for their personal lives everytime a scene with Roy comes up:
I'm more amazed at how Kimbley managed to maintain his sense of self inside pride.
He’s just that much of a psycho. Feeding off the agony of the souls trapped inside Pride to keep his identity.
He was already insane, so really sitting in a vortex of screaming souls barely even phased him when he basically enjoyed his job in life.
I love the subtle change in 5:29 from fear to sadness that Hawkeye‘s expression changes to.
Whenever a villain is about to go against Roy Mustang, the villain's VA: "Oh well, I better start practising my AAAAAAHHHHH! AAAAAAHHHHHHH! then"
Mustang hit envy with that orchestra 👌
Still love that the moment Al saw mustang, he popped up a wall. Kid knew was what about to go down.
Generally I prefer the original voice actors, but man, Lust English voice actress is just perfect! Absolutely love her.
Laura Bailey who plays Lust is married to Travis Willingham who plays Mustang. So while they don't record together when recording it does make the Lust and Roy fight funnier
@@dylanstalnaker3795 I heard after they recorded lust death scene Travis apologized to Laura
Am I the only one who kinda felt bad watching Envy's death, even if he WAS responsible for Hughes' death?
Part of me feels like he deserved it, but at the same time I kinda felt sorry for him 😢
I hope so
I dont feel that Way. I get that the Homonculi are supposed to have some Humanity in them. But Envy is just Trash because he is jealous of everything. He killed Hughes, a little Kid and a nearly a whole Country for killing this Girl. Something like him doesnt deserve Sympathy and i find it wrong that he gets reborn like the others. I mean how can Sho Tucker be the only one in Hell while all Homonculi get reborn? At least Envy doesnt deserve to be reborn. Everyone else yes.
Yes. That little shit tormented everyone the entire show and made a little girl grow up without her dad. He deserves everything he gets.
He's just slightly less evil than Shou Tucker. And that's saying something.
He deserved it but at the same time…
No you’re not the only one
I love how lust aims for mustangs eyes, and tells him that she cant wait for his eyes to be full of agony, then mustang goes blind. Fma has one of the best writing teams out there, who know what theyre doing and i love it
Greed - died satisfying
Gluttony - died getting eaten
Lust - died to a womanizer
Sloth - died fighting to much
Envy - died by envying himself
Wrath - died calmly
Pride - died pathetically
pride survived

Not a womanizer, a man she couldn't tempt who was protecting the woman he loves.
I love how Alphonse hears Roy Mustang's voice and immediately makes a wall to protect from the flames

Thank you for posting this and reminding me how awesome this anime was!! One of the best!
0:42 Then during the final battle, Greed practically dealt a fatal blow to Father as he stabbed him in the stomach. The stab itself wasn't fatal, but he turn himself into carbon from there while destroying Father from the inside. Great foreshadowing.
I grew up watching the original full metal alchemist so it had a special place in my heart, but damn this version is just leagues beyond
Both are good
"If you think that, then you still don't understand edward elric"
Chills every damn time.
I know it actually took a long and grueling fight that pushed everybody involved to their absolute limits, but I'm entirely willing to believe Armstrong and Sig showing up, posing, and throwing a punch would be enough to destroy a homunculus. The true power of muscles!
"Just dont blame me when I give you a stomache ache; you did it to yourself!"
Now THAT is foreshadowing, right there.
Lust's death was by far the most badass and most satisfying anime death ever.
Fun fact - all of the sins died ironically by either being uncharacteristic of their sin (wrath, sloth, greed, pride) or died from something that represents their sin (lust, envy, gluttony)
Lust died on her knees getting backshots from a guy named mustang while saying its coming
I can’t stop laughing🤣
Lust killed by a man who called her ugly
Gluttony eaten
Sloth basically worked to death
Wrath killed by a man who let go of his anger.
Pride killed (reshaped) by somebody who had to reshape his own way of thinking after not being able to save a girl despite being proud of his alchemy
Envy finishes itself due to self pity
Greed gives up everything he has to save everything he ever wanted.
I love this story.
I wouldn’t have been able to kill Lust because my thumb would have been bruised AF
First, you have to not pass out after cauterizing yourself.
"Talk about cheesy" right before he says that whole thing that had to be the most cheesy death immaginable
Bro Roy is fucking insane he killed 2 of the homunculi and in the 2003 version had an insane fight with bradley 💀
I love how mustang is the only one who got multiple kills.
The way Mustang killed Lust is probably one of the most brutal death in anime
Greed saying telling father “don’t blame me when I give you a stomach ache” is such a fitting choice of words
I love armstrong and sig so damn much, the way they take out sloth is perfect
Love how every homunculus had some kind of dramatic death, except for Sloth, who was literally just flexed on.🤣
I deadass feel bad for Gluttony, he aint deserve to go out like that
going from gluttony begging for his life to RESPECTABLE MUSCLES is such a toneshift and i love it
I mean major Armstrong and teachers husband (forgot his name) its just prime for muscle overload
Greed in both series has and always will be my favorite of the 7 deadly sins. Cool as hell and bad ass as well 🔥🤩
The way mustang mercilessly and relentlessly killed lust and envy must be the most savage kills in anime history
Greed really lived up to his name and had the most deaths
Fun fact, the English VA of Mustang was/is married to Lust’s VA!
The muscle man handshake is something every man respects
The animation for Lust’s death is so awesome, a highlight for me in the series.
Greed: given to someone else
Lust: too hot
Gluttony: got ate
Sloth: too lazy to keep living
Envy: kills himself out of spite
Pride: looses his ego and becomes a baby
Wrath: killed by Scar, who let go of his anger and pain
Greed again: sacrifices himself having gained what he always wanted, true friends
“Carved a transmutation symbol into his hand”, still makes me laugh. Homie in the most excruciating pain in his life draws little salamander into hand
Omni man really is a carbon copy of King Bradley lmao
The fact that sloth dies due to the sheer, brute, muscular bromance between Sig and Armstrong was just awesome! Also, definitely a sexual awakening for my stupid ass in my teens😂
I loved how each homuncuous had an ironic death:
1) Greed died selfessly helping others.
When Ed turned himself into a philosopher's stone, that was the funniest shit i've ever seen
I wanted Lust to die while looking at Alphonse and say "You really are a Full Metal Alchemist"
It's funny how dubs sounds weird when you watched the series in sub.
Same, but in reverse. Dub voice actors did a phenomenal job
@@yalkn2073 Truth. This series got an amazing dub. I pretty much watch anime exclusively in sub nowadays but whenever I go back and re-watch this series from time to time, I always watch it dubbed.
Mustag is like "hey, if it works it works"
Greed's death is somehow the best, when he realizes he had/earned something important after all.
9:09 I feel like this scene is exactly like the one in the magical battle between Jogo and Sukuna during the fight.
People nowadays: Inside Out 1 and 2 are the best representation of human emotions.
Hiromu Arakawa (23 years from now): *writes, draws and develops the homunculi as a metaphor to human emotions* 🗿
6:43 "How could you maintain your individuality among this *Tempest* of souls?!" Foreshadowing how he would later become a Slime named Rimuru Tempest!
Also, for some reason I like how his shadow is talking like an actual living shadow.
Lmfao this is cannon now
Knowing that lust and mustang are married in real life and hearing that makes the interaction all that much funnier
My favorites are probably Mustang going ham on Envy and Lust.
Lust - died being ugly
Gluttony - died by by being eaten
Sloth - died in action
Envy - died by losing everything
Pride - died and got humiliated
Wrath - died in peace
Greed - died by giving his life
I don't know if it's the most one sided but it's my favorite one sided fight in all of Anime: Mustang vs Envy.
I guess technically it isn't a fight per se but it was an absolute beat down.
The VO work that scene was so good, it got the show an award.
"Wrath died peacefully."
Said the 10k+ upvotes as they unironically watched Wrath *die from having his goddamn arms ripped off* .
Pride: he's forcing his way inside me
Ed: you're mine
Pride: No! Please stop...
Uuhm i think I've heard these lines somewhere else...
Knew I wasn't the only one 😂😂😂
I never fully realised the symbolism behind all their deaths when i first watched this anime but holy shit they gave every single one of them a perfectly fitting deck. Damn i miss this anime.
I love how the Sloth is literally Overworked
Father- Pursued knowledge and power, but learned nothing.
imagine going "BISH PLEASE" on a op artificial human
Anime now : putting a gun in his head is so disturbing
Anime then :
