True Resurrection Wand, Overlord Wiki: `Unlike the Resurrection Wand, this magic wand is imbued with the 9th tier spell, True Resurrection. Ainz considered using it instead of the Resurrection Wand on Neia Baraja due to the fact of it having a higher tier revival spell that consumes lesser exp to revive a dead person without turning the said target into ashes during the process of getting revived. However, like the Resurrection Wand, the person will still face the penalty of losing levels after their revival is completed. As it is 9th tier and much stronger than either Raise Dead or Resurrection spell, the level loss penalty is regarded to be much less severe than the normal Resurrection Wand. Compared to the usage of a True Resurrection Wand, Ainz himself didn't want to accidentally mess up with Neia's corpse by using a regular Resurrection Wand instead of it in case her level wasn't high enough. In other words, Ainz carefully made sure to use the best wand he had available within his arsenal to minimize the risk of failure if he cast an unsuccessful revive spell wherein which a target like Neia didn't have enough exp (high enough level) to pay up the required cost, fearing her lifeless body will turn into ash after it failed.`
If i remember right, ainz have some artifact or ability that makes him able to craft wands with any spell in it by using only mana. so he can revive anyone, anytime just by using his mana. And he never really use such ability for even a shadow of it perspective.
No, what are you talking about? Firstly, there's no issue with their Levels. Two of them were 2nd Tier Magic Casters, and we could assume the other two are similar in Level due to their equal ranks, so the four were at least Level 8 each. Even a Player's default respawning could only take 5 Levels, and Resurrection abilities have lower Level costs than that. Secondly, he's got tools and personnel that could use strong Resurrection abilities if he really wanted. The state of the corpse or even the availability of it really only matters with weaker Resurrection powers. So, even if they're mangled or missing, bringing them back to life was an option for him. In the end, they just weren't worth enough to him, compared to the Gold and other materials that Resurrection would cost. He respected them, but not to the point of real companionship. The purpose he had in mind for them, to advertise his team, can be done far better by the Bareares, who are very famous in E-Rantel. The members of SoD were practically just a little bonus in that endeavor.

The combination of watching in Sub, and being dyslexic, means I can only read his name as Ainz "Own Goal" when the words briefly appear during the show. The Japanese pronunciation of his name is also loose enough that for the first half of season one I thought it was some sort of in-joke amongst his friends when they created their characters. At this point I'm happier leaving his official name as "Own Goal", and pretending that every character he meets is slightly puzzled at the foreign colloquialism.

Honestly with the lizard man art yeah I think it was a precursor to taking down the kingdom. And the lizard man are gets referenced in the light novels on occasion specifically with them having built a settlement on the floor that the two elf twins are the floor Guardians for
it's hard trying not to write a 10 page essay on every move ains does covering the events that lead up to the action what happened during it explaining in detail what happened, its impacts on the near and far future and how it affects the new world and overall plot, trying to understand everything in this series is like playing 5d chess(the anime doesnt do it justice)
This anime made me read my first light novels. Finished all volumes 1-16 now. As someone who doesn't enjoy reading without images, I can vouch that its light novel counterpart is in a league of its own compared to the anime. The amount of details + monologues removed from the light novel definitely played a big part in its enjoyment.
Do it. The light novel makes the anime seem trash. Anime does get the story across and has a lot of really nice touches to it, including the last Renner scene which is way better in the anime than the LN but the problem with the anime is that it's skipping massive amounts of content. Each season could have comfortably been 24 episodes.
Seeing peoples reactions to the Overlord anime being meh really saddens me when I think about how bad the the anime adaption was for it, and many Overlord anime only fans won't truly experience all the magic the light novel series has to offer, since Overlord is love by many light novel fans for these primary reasons: 1)Main villain as a protagonist - Unlike most isekai shows where the main character is morally good for the most part, Ainz is UNDOUBTEDLY a villain, since one of his goals is to try to dominate this new world. For instance, in Season 1 when Ainz was prepared to murder Niferea in when his identity as Momon was almost found out. Another example, is the UNPROVOKED attack on the lizard men led by Ainz in season 2 that cost countless lives for their species, and it was all done for experimentation for Ainz, it's also worth keeping in mind that the ONLY reason that Ainz decided to show mercy to the Lizardmen was due to Coctyus's request, which led to the situation we are in now where the Lizardmen aren't following Ainz now out of love, but fear, since they know first hand what he and his army of Nazarick are capable of, and we see more of that fear being shown from them in the later volumes. Next, is the attack on Re Estize kingdom led by Demiruge, which again, similar to the Lizardman was an UNPROVOKED attack led by Ainz crew that caused the death of not only countless soldiers of the kingdom, but men AND children as well. Heck, Demiurge kidnaps women and FORCES them to cross breed with other species for experimentation, which is essentially rape, and Ainz will NEVER actively punish him for it, since in the Light Novel he's stated time and time again that the denizens of Nazarick will ALWAYS have more value then the people of this new world. So here we have protagonist that's caused genocide for his own SELFISH reasons, and will CONTINUE TO DO SO in future arcs, and has subordinates that aren't above doing more bad things, such as rape ( Demiurge, and Shalltear fall into this rape category, though over 90% of the denizens of Nazarick are evil beings that enjoy the suffering of humans, just don't rape them with a few exceptions like Sebas who is morally good) so all this effectively makes Ainz a dictator on the same level as Hitler. However, what seperates Ainz from MANY other villains in fiction is that he isn't one dimensional as we see the man show compassion for those around him, even if it's primarily reserve with those in Nazarick, and he also has flaws in the fact that he struggles to be a competant leader for them, Making him a complex villain, up there with Griffith. It's a change of pace to what I usually see and it's glorious. 2) Foreshadowing- Many of the major events are set up in earlier parts of the story like how Ninya's death at the hands of Clementine played a role in Ainz rare act of compassion to someone outside of Nazarick in sparing Tuare is a great example of this. And there were many foreshadowing threads in season 3 season that will play a MAJOR role in future arcs, Seriously, I'll never forget reading the predictions people made in earlier volumes, with MANY of them being spot on in the more recent volumes due to all the seeds the author planted in those earlier volumes, which is great story telling. 3) world building- I could write an essay on how much world building was axed from the anime, and I don't know where to start so I won't bother lol. Personally I feel the anime fails at most of this since ALOT of the character moments are either brushed over or are outright glossed over, and that's in addition to skipping MANY of the world building elements. You KNOW it's bad when whenever there's a reaction video of Overlord on youtube, you have people in the comments of said videos writing LITERAL paragraphs explaining what was skipped on EACH episode, not as a whole season, and episode per video. It's bad. Then there's the animation itself, which there isn't much to speak of, and that's not even mentioning the god awful CGI. Overall, a weak adaption, which is a shame because the light novels are so good, and REALLY dark in terms of tone, for instance, like going into more detail about Demiurge's breeding experiments ( many of the denizens of Nazarick are aware of this by the way, they just don't care that he's doing it, since they consider humans to be inferior to them), and Shalltear's weird and horrifying sexual fantasies ( she enjoys sexually assaulting women), or Ainz lack of sympathy for humanity as a whole, and how that's explored when he commits genocide. And the books go into far more detail on all of this. It's to the point that I feel that anime fans, and light novel fans are getting entirely different experiences.
4:37 actually if we consider the creation of the Tomb of Nazarick as well as the NPCs, then Sebas would have been less than 12 years old, which is the runtime of Yggdrasil as a game.

Ainz- i will start war so my minions would be happy. Me- but your minions only happy that they follow your will, so you dont need the war for that. More over - at least nigredo and pestonia are so sad with slaughter of innocent that they disobeyed the order. Also sebas and cacitus are totally not happy to participate in that. Isn't you are doing senseless thing? Ainz- ... War is the only and easiest option.
No, seriously, if ainz would want to rule the world he is able to rule it in mere years without any wars. Just demping and economical power. For example food, druid of nazarick is able to make fields grow insane amount of food for centuries without any insects or wrong herbs growing in there. Combined with skeletons... Ainz can create as much food as he want and sell it at low prices all over the world, making own farms of countries go bankrupt. In the all world the magic scrolls are very expensive and take weeks of experienced mages to create, but in nazarick the librarians can create low level scrolls that are top tier in the world by hundreds and thousands in few seconds or minutes. All they need is leather. But they dont actually need human skin, cow leather will be good enough. Change concept of demiurg human farm to cow farm and that would triple the amount of meat and leather that could be obtained, and more over there would be extra milk and cheese from such farm and non human meat can be also sold. Ainz can monopolize all important areas of economic in the world and without using any strategic resources of nazarick and make such awesome reputation that it is hard to even imagine. He would have all the gold in the world he want and would control all the countries because after mere years he would decide will the country will be fine or it would collapse in the war with other countries or just go extinct because of famine. He doesn't even need to do that, just make some notifications and angry nobles and people of the kingdom will instantly replace bad ruler that is dare to provoke nazarick.
More like, "I will allow my friends children to start a war because I'm afraid of ruining the years of intricate planning done by geniuses and don't want to ruin their image of me because of an offhand comment" Ainz is a coward after all
@@tolikkazan9889 food- That was somewhat the original plan but that doesn't take into account certain crops since e-Rantel mostly produced grain. The plan by Demi, albedo, and Renner, was that the kingdom was supposed to be forced into a famine, cause widespread discontent and violence among the populace, and the sorcerous kingdom would step in to return peace while also being able to remove the idiot faction. I don't recall your mention of a naz Druid able to make food for centuries with practically no downside at all, would you care to give a quote? There was a mention of mare having to resupply nutrients to the soil but never that they could force food to grow in such numbers. In fact, there were giant carrots in the 6th floor that he couldn't simply fix the soil they grew in just by casting magic on it. And to keep up that regime on every village or farm would be an extremely tedious task for their sole Druid. They even have touch me's divine shield, earth recover, on the 6th floor just to help the soil Scrolls- We don't know how long they take to make, but the theocracy can make 5th tier scrolls. While the highest naz can make is 3rd tier, also requiring resources from nazarick. Of which we have no idea what resources it requires that they have a limited supply of. It has to be human skin. They've tried other methods and only human skin allowed for the casting of merely third tier magic.

It boggles my mind how people still say that Lizard arc is a filler arc. Following their logic any arc in Overlord is filler arc... I still remember that golden comment of one such individual about how "there's no connection between Holy Kingdom arc and Witch of a Fallen Kingdom arc", because "the only connection is that they export grain into Holy Kingdom". It's like saying that the only connection of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is that there's Batman in it and it's set in Gotham. Same goes for Lizard arc. Lots of characters get progression (and introduction to play a part later) and people are like "well... nothing happened, just some lizard sex". srsly wtf Nice video, btw.
It's such a shame that several major details in light novel does not adapt into anime. That's why I recommend reading the LN after finishing the anime. Especially the holy kingdom arc. That's one was a banger. I'm just hoping that the movie will not disappoint

2:05 I've always wondered why Ainz didn't resurrect Swords of Darkness party and keep them around Nazarick as honored guests. He had the power. I mean, the only ones who knew they were killed off were the alchemist Lizzie Bareare, Clementine, the party members and Nazarick floor guardians. I'm sure Ainz could have figured something to do with them afterward. It's a decision that I never quite understood. Someone wanna clue me in? 5:35 The two sisters have a REALLY dark ending. Do NOT Google it, unless if you want to have a bad day. Overlord often has nightmare fuel, after all.
I read (From some random dude on reddit which is a totally a trusted source) that they would have no use to him and were better off dead too spread the name of momon.
if he ressurected them Momon will be known as magic caster. The lowest tier of ressurection magic is tier 5 and "Nabe" was presented as tier 3. So Ainz need to cover it up and do so much just to save useless inferior lifeforms. Nabe will questioned it. Not that Ainz really cared about them, he just pissed his plan for them to spread his brave adventure with them, slays ogre with one swing, and defeating Wise King of Forest of Tob go wasted.
@@AvangionQ and 4 on top of that? ressurection need an expensive material, like really expensive. So Momon must be stupidly generous. and how he explain it to Nabe? and like other said, Ainz gain nothing from bringing them back.

P.S. I did read said short story and it was a good read, premise was if Ainz had done a couple things different at the close of the game and was outside the Tomb at shutdown and thus wound up arriving in the other world 200 years in the past at a different place without Nazarick and the NPCs.
fun fact: ainz was not able to revive his former adventurer coleagues. I dont exactly remember why, I think it was either theyre remainings were too damaged or their levels were too low
If I remember correctly reviving basically costs levels. If Ainz revived the adventures they would have de-leveled to zero and died again.

Funnily enough in the light novel the guild Ainz Ooal Gown was actually Nine Own Goals. So your technically correct in your reading.
@@TheDarkMarionette "Nine's Own Goal"
The "Nine" comes from the original 9 members. I forgot where "Own Goal" is from though. I vaguely remember something about a Japanese pun.
@@satriosukarji1777 Own Goal just mean Own Goal, they are Nine players grouping for their own goals.
The group grew in number and they officially become guild, they dont want this name go waste so they edit it a bit.
I like ainz, but I also want to see him defeated. Be really cool if it lead to a follow-up anime where touchme has to face down the corrupted momunga.
Honestly with the lizard man art yeah I think it was a precursor to taking down the kingdom. And the lizard man are gets referenced in the light novels on occasion specifically with them having built a settlement on the floor that the two elf twins are the floor Guardians for
it's hard trying not to write a 10 page essay on every move ains does covering the events that lead up to the action what happened during it explaining in detail what happened, its impacts on the near and far future and how it affects the new world and overall plot, trying to understand everything in this series is like playing 5d chess(the anime doesnt do it justice)
shows not that serious bro..its not chess its just writing without a point
A fine addition to my collection
Now we only need Tanya the evil before we go to Isekai Quartet
7:42 ainz only went with the gaurdians plan, since he was too afraid to say "no," of course
Very early gang! Also epic vid as all ways, always lovin your renaming your bits and am looking forward to more quality stuff like this.
I so love your videos man. Never stop making these amazing videos!
6:07 best part in this video
I can say the anime is pretty good, and I’m seriously debating reading the source material. Excited for the movie
Movie?!
Do it. The light novel makes the anime seem trash. Anime does get the story across and has a lot of really nice touches to it, including the last Renner scene which is way better in the anime than the LN but the problem with the anime is that it's skipping massive amounts of content. Each season could have comfortably been 24 episodes.
Seeing peoples reactions to the Overlord anime being meh really saddens me when I think about how bad the the anime adaption was for it, and many Overlord anime only fans won't truly experience all the magic the light novel series has to offer, since Overlord is love by many light novel fans for these primary reasons:
1)Main villain as a protagonist - Unlike most isekai shows where the main character is morally good for the most part, Ainz is UNDOUBTEDLY a villain, since one of his goals is to try to dominate this new world.
What magic, degenerate? This is a pathetic fantasy about a Mary Sue with an inferiority complex. However, all fans of Overlord are degenerates.
The biggest advantage of overlord is the world building... Even if its a fantasy isekai. Everything is believable
Ehhhh, that's debatable in some cases. Still better worldbuilding than like 99.99999% of other isekai though, so congrats on that
4:37 actually if we consider the creation of the Tomb of Nazarick as well as the NPCs, then Sebas would have been less than 12 years old, which is the runtime of Yggdrasil as a game.
Bro I found you and watched like 20 vids of yours. Keep it like this!
i still watch all your new vids. But some days, like this one, i binch the most of your vids over and over again.
Dude Lunar why are you the best bro, I can be struggling with one of my worst bouts of depression in my life and you never fail to make me laugh man thanks, I could binge watch your videos all day for the sheer comedy, much love my friend.
overlord is awesome!! nice video! also the openings and ending are bangers indeed! my favrites are season 1 opening Clattanoia and season 2 ending hydra
Loved this work. Keep it up!
way to show Ains vs Gazef battle in real time.
Good on you.
More like, "I will allow my friends children to start a war because I'm afraid of ruining the years of intricate planning done by geniuses and don't want to ruin their image of me because of an offhand comment"
Ainz is a coward after all
@@tolikkazan9889 food-
That was somewhat the original plan but that doesn't take into account certain crops since e-Rantel mostly produced grain. They even have touch me's divine shield, earth recover, on the 6th floor just to help the soil
Scrolls-
We don't know how long they take to make, but the theocracy can make 5th tier scrolls. While the highest naz can make is 3rd tier, also requiring resources from nazarick. Of which we have no idea what resources it requires that they have a limited supply of.
It has to be human skin. They've tried other methods and only human skin allowed for the casting of merely third tier magic.
Oh no, he is unaware of the happy farm
Ok I’m pretty sure I’ve watched every review of anime that I’ve watched and havnt and I must say you are hilarious
Hey man , I just wanted you to know that your videos how improved greatly.
Amazing video, love it.
"I'm starting to think they're the bad guys..."
Heresy! That's the kind of insults that would earn you a permanent stay at Demiurge's Happy Farm! So... be careful.😈
But for real, it's funny how many people took 4 seasons to figure it out, and when the movie comes out we'll get to see who still hasn't.
loving how apt this summary experience is, even if you claim it's satire. subbing
4:36 The funny thing is, Sebas is technically younger than her 😂
Jokes aside, I'm still glad to have one of the few happy endings in this series 👍
5:43 "Well, enjoy poverty."
He doesn't know... He doesn't know!
When he said fat Kurapika, I lost it XD. Never noticed until that exact moment.
Why have i just found this channel and why is it so dam funny?
I love Overlord so MUCH!!❤❤❤ My favourite part is that Lord Einz has no clue what he’s doing he’s just doing what the guardians think he wants which happens to be taking over the world😂
14:50 "enjoy poverty" ..... lol he is so clueless its cute no no no no they wish they had lived in poverty those 2 little sisters got sold as slaved to pay for a fraction of the debt and died cursing arche for not coming back for them how did they die? ... they died of over work .... no over use? ... hummm lets just say the kind of work they did was done in the bed ... poverty .. ah they wish!
*A guy conquers the world with the power of side quests* The Anime
Oh you've seriously underplayed Philip. The sheer amount of stupity which lead to the destruction of the kingdom should honestly be studied. Watch AniNews videos on it.
kudos for the high improvement in your vidoes!
"It Should have been me!" in the background is peak!
I love the situation with Demiurge. Dude literally interprets his sneezes as Strategic Genuis. XD
I was waiting for this
Crossing my fingers for Youjo Senki (Tanya the Evil) next! It's a super entertaining series. Also, I truly don't understand how your brain withstood 4 seasons in one day, 2x speed or not.
That's the best part it didn't survive lol
bro tanya the evil is trash..there is not consequences in that show..and the whole bout of man and God..the main POINT!! just becomes forgotten..its nonsense
Lots of characters get progression (and introduction to play a part later) and people are like "well... nothing happened, just some lizard sex".
srsly wtf
Nice video, btw.
Time for the black butter side story arc 🤣🤣🤣 good one bor 👍
14:36 yikes, man
Hilarious video though.
9:40 you have no business making me laugh like this with using Arc the Skeleton Knight's picture
It's such a shame that several major details in light novel does not adapt into anime. That's why I recommend reading the LN after finishing the anime. Especially the holy kingdom arc. That's one was a banger. I'm just hoping that the movie will not disappoint
mio fratello, hydra and voracity are fucking amazing
I love when I hear anyone say fat Kurapika. Literally called him that since I first saw him
The way you said Momon the whole video made my liver explode, 10/10 would Method Acting
ur music taste from the anime is perfect
5:35 Just to make sure of it, you are still joking here right ? You remember how Ains left a chance to go back to ALL and ANY of them the day before they went in the tomb while he played the role of Momon ? He already HAD learned their reason : Greed shrouded in NEED. Only that mattered.
fun fact: the two younger sisters got Sold to a brothel by their parents to Buy more expensive lamps. they then lived happily ever after. Exept they didnt, because they got rpd'ed to death. The end.
There was no mention of a brothel. Only that that died of exhaustion
I subscribed when i heard your favorite music from overlord was hydra.
Enri is clearly actually nuts, suffering from PTSD from the deaths of her villiagers and family has left her thinking about killing her sister.
she didn't thinking about killing his sister. she just angry for nobody and theres knife.
@@LunarEquinox they gained a racial level in zombie when they were turned undead. if he resurrected them, they'd still be zombies
if he ressurected them Momon will be known as magic caster. The lowest tier of ressurection magic is tier 5 and "Nabe" was presented as tier 3.
So Ainz need to cover it up and do so much just to save useless inferior lifeforms. Nabe will questioned it.
Not that Ainz really cared about them, he just pissed his plan for them to spread his brave adventure with them, slays ogre with one swing, and defeating Wise King of Forest of Tob go wasted.

shallchair is indeed 2nd after couchcytus
ains toches albedos chest is not to confirm if he is in another world it is to confirm if he was in the game he originally played because you can't do 18+ things in there so by doing that he confirmed that he was not in the game world but to a whole new world (If anyone wants to know)
After you said that people are saying Ains and Momon are the same, I thought “people say the same about Ussop and Sogeking”, glad you agree
Nowhere else on the internet is there a more perfect summation and take on Overlord including the best song.
Personally my second song pick is a tie between Silent Solitude and Hydra they have 2 completely different vibes but man they both hit so well.
Ohh dude, why are you not give an honorable mention to Golden Boys Madhouse (Brain Unglaus), this chara very important even though the action is not clear in the anime, lol.
Great content bro!
3:15 "IT SHOULD'VE BEEN ME!"
Just about fell out of my chair
12:44 that username always gets me😂
Just to… exclude any doubts on the author, the Brest part right in the first episode is due to Ygdrassil having an anti sexual action system :)

Tame some wolfes? 50 thousand rock wolfes got massacred in that episode, it really felt like a ultimate epic battle simulator of 60k wolfes vs 2 demigods
Most Isekai anime :fell good movie(they can have wars, slavery and so but Hero from Japan will save them) this anime: 💀
I Like dark fantasy anime,s hm Arknights is Like Warhammer fantasy(Originum is simlar to warpstone.they both have demons on north and south)they are differences .Arknights have dtones, robota and stuff.Terra dont have elves or France(they get partitioned here) and so on
Never really liked the story, but I'm always happy to see a Lunar upload so I shall watch it all o7
Finished Season 1 and currently in 2...
Im not really having good time... Ainz and his crew are just very boring Over Powered and I end up feeling sorry for others like the average humans or Lizards.
Epic duel with the fate of your tribe on the line
To BaD FoR YoU =p
I have my dorky Raid Shadow Legends/Yu-Gi-Oh ass pull skill that prevents damage... Possibly from the cash shop.
Its just to the point it sucks the drama and weighted tension out a fight and spits on a grave... I hate it.
I can't believe you didn't talk about Demiurge's happy farm
He did talk about the happy farm at 10:35.He just didn't referrence the name.
You should react to Isekai Quartet it's a funny anime that mixes overload, konosoba, re:zero, and Tanya
Ah yes, Demi's collection of resources and human resources.
2:05 About that part, if someone isn't strong enough they can't be resurrected.

For me, overlord is one of the few animes that i liked every single character more than the actual protagonist
