Andrew, for what must be 15 years now I have watched a young gifted artist develop into an artist of international acclaim with few, if any hangups about tackling any subject for a motivational image. From memory, I recall some astounding early pencil drawings from WA to this Still Life of today. A young man transformed into a seasoned professional. I am about to have my first exhibition as an old man and many of the works, you have inspired. As a teacher (be it online) you got me through many hours at the easel and I can assume with confidence, many others. Never stop explaining how and why, the inexperienced can grow from tutelage.
Wow Mark, I am both honoured and humbled by this comment. Thank you so much. I will certainly keep going and share what I know, and hopefully continue to develop. Thanks again, this means a lot to me.
I am begining in my painting. I dtarted with acrylics and only recently started oils. I am learning every time i watch your vidioes. Thank you so much.your explaning as you paint is helping.
I love your videos of still lifes, it made me realize that we don't have to try to paint anything super fancy, even toys and sea shells! Really opened up my perspective!
Literally every time I watch one of your videos I think well THIS is my favourite subject that I want to try and specialise in! It's landscapes! No, sketch endeavour! No no, OMG, still lives! I even start warming up to portraits that I am actually not particularly keen of. Thank you for igniting my love for painting again and even more than it ever has been ever in my life! :)
The Tisch is back! So good to see you put out another video. I’m going to keep this video for when I start painting on Monday. Just couldn’t resist commenting.
@@AndrewTischlerArtWell after watching I’m in awe of your abilities and this painting - it is a textural delight! Its the texture of oils that I love about painting. It’s something Ai and machine cannot replicate. Talking about Ai, Instead of using Ai, it gave me that push to paint, in a strange act of rebellion and to avoid being ‘cancelled’ by it. I’ve always loved traditional art, i used to do a lot of stop motion animation, but work lead me down a path that was far too digital. So I’m rekindling my passion for traditional arts. But you sir are the inspiration. Your passion for painting is contagious. I haven’t done so yet, but it is very likely that I will end up joining your academy and hopefully improve my painting. Thank you Tisch, you are the man!
Your truly a big fan of art and such fans becomes master really its amazing to look over so much contrast with so much designs really appreciable. Big fan of art and also a ❤❤big fan of you ❤❤
I could not click on this video fast enough! I LOVE "Old Masters" style paintings! I'm working on getting my studio set up (worked on it today). I can't wait to get back into painting after several years of not painting. Such an inspiration. LOVE it.
Just amazing Andrew. I love watching how your paintings come to life, but without you holding the brush close to the tip and yet having control over the brushstrokes. Thank you
Excellent work Andrew. Really enjoyed watching this video. Always inspiring before going into my studio for the day. Really liked the mix of textural strokes overlaid with delicate detail and glazes.
It is gorgeous! I would be interested in seeing videos of how you glaze, from mediums to how you apply and do you remove till glazes till you get the color you want?
Andrew! This is an amazing lesson because I'm currently looking for a way to paint shells! And here it is, as if ordered... Thank you very much. This is a grateful and pleasant topic for such November days. Best regards from Poland.
A superb video with so much to enjoy and learn from . I never get bored watching your videos and wait for them , you have your own fabulous tech and I love your work. Keep them coming Andrew , wishing you a fantastic future 👏👏✊♥️
As always, this is a gorgeous painting, Andrew. I love the high contrast & am working on a still life in this style. I'm highly impressed by your improvisation of the sea fan & whips. Very ingenious! Thank you for sharing these ideas.
Andrew, Otro excelente video. Me gusta mucho la pintura y dusfruto con tus cuidadas pinceladas. Una pasada de realismo q es lo q principalmente me gusta. Saludos desde España.
Absolutely beautiful painting…..I really do enjoy watching you paint still life’s! I haven’t done a lot of oil painting over the last year or so but this definitely encourages me to try out my Tisch daggers I purchased from Rosemary & Co a while ago!
You have no idea how many times I had to say "OMG" when I watched your video with jaw dropping amazed and all other indescribable joy! You are the one who stands on top of my not many favorite artists, Landscape, portrait and everything in between. I knew you and watched your videos long ago but still I had to keep saying what I was saying at the beginning every time I watched them. I was always thinking about visiting your gallery when I could go to the South Island and I had a chance to visit Invercargill two years ago but you had moved from Lawrence and I missed it.
Incredible painting with beautiful brush work! Thanks for the video, Andrew...going to finally join your Academy, because you are such a generous and talented teacher.
Great video as usual, I'm feeling all inspired to hit the easel and sling some paint myself (even although ive just come off my last fifteen hour nightshift!!) Great explanation of your process, thanks for sharing your knowledge so freely.👍🎨👏👏🙏
I’m very curious to know what it’s like to have a skill like this. To know going in that you can actually paint what you lay out, and with incredible precision. It must feel so good, to know all your time and effort has paid off. Such a pleasure watching you paint Andrew. Thank you for all this great content.
What a fun scene! would love to paint the same thing, so much to learn there. 60 hours is so fast for this! Based on my data of previous paintings, this would take me about 180 hours
Amazing. I am always stuck on how to go from just mediocre to advanced. Everytime I try to go another layer deeper in detail I just get muddy and the whole piece looks worse. So, I often just leave my project at mediocre. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Sometimes layering can help and allowing the painting to dry between sittings. This will prevent you from mobilising the previous layer, and if you don't like it, you can wipe off and start again without sacrificing your work. Keep on going! You got this. Try an alkyd resin based medium for sped up drying time. That may help!
That painting turned out so beautiful!! Was so wonderful to watch your process! The table surface came out so beautiful! And I love all the artisttic freedom you took wirh the crumpled paper, it came out amazing :D
Man even though my taste in art is vastly different from yours I would like you to know that you have been an inspiration for me picking up still life and en plain air drawing, I've gotten better over my 5 years of journeying but I still struggle with finishing projects and am still no where as good as you. Hopefully one day I can bridge the gap and stand tall beside the artists who have inspired me.
Wow! That is nothing short of mesmerizingly amazing! Love this painting! Can get lost in those details for hours on end! Thank you for sharing, Andrew! =====================================================================================================================================
just wonder if the videos from the courses that we can buy are also included in the Academy? Having a hard time deciding which one to start with. Thank you
Hi Andrew! Fantastic video! Could you share please the information WHAT KIND OF MEDIA (turpentine, white spirit, oil, etc.) DO YOU USE FOR PAINTING? I appreciate every of your comments! Thank you so much!
Of course! I link my material in the description, but you can find a detailed explanation of my process in this free ebook: tischler.nz/free-studio-guide/
Hi Andrew, thanks for tbe incredible video. Question : u beleive you painted this with oils and completed without waiting for it to dry layering. I wanted to know what is it tnat you do that doesnt merge the 1st layer color with 2nd layer you paint making sure that you acheive the result ? When i do this it becomes hard for me , as colors get blended causing me so much issues
It comes down to the medium you're mixing with the paint. Here I used Liquin Original and Liquin impasto. It dries within 24 hours (nearly) making it super easy to layer!

Soon Rebelle 7 program will be released. Could you try it out and compare its closeness to realism? What is your opinion about the application?
Hi Andrew, wonderful work. Do you plan to upload new courses via your website, or transition to academy only?
Yes, I'm currently working on a few tutorials to share through my website. I hope they'll be ready towards the end of this year, perhaps January.
