    When I'm having trouble falling asleep at night I listen to one of your podcasts. You and your guests' voices eventually lull me to sleep. Bonus is you have now appeared in three of my dreams. 😂 FYI, you’ve become my own personal guru, guiding me through my "creative endeavor" journey. Thanks for all the incredibly inspiring information and please keep on being the fabulous you that you are. ❤️

    Tisch as I call you, wow! The way you speak always gets me understanding each stage of every tutorial. You're probably the best artist in all areas I like, I teach and you do that effortlessly. I draw, and you do that with ease, the paintings I don't want to even get started with those. Keep educating us because you have all the required assets for a great artist.

    My jaw is still hanging open as I see your amazing painting, and to think you've only gotten started! Wow Tisch! I am once again in awe! I am in the middle of a painting under a Russian artist tutelage, but as soon as I'm done, I'm coming over to your camp! Can't wait to get started with your academy!

    Valuable lesson right there. Sometimes it is good to allow yourself to be led by the painting rather than forcing your will upon it. The artists struggle is real!!🎨💪 Having said that, there are plenty of times when you have to push on through with a painting because it is going through it's "ugly stage" before you get it to where you want it to be. Thanks fir sharing this Andrew, and look forward to the next installment.👍

      @warpedweft9004 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know it's funny because teaching (anything, not just art) is very much the same. If the lesson is just not clicking with the students or it starts to head in a different direction, you're left with two choices. Abandon the lesson plan and follow the path that has opened up or struggle on because you spent so much time planning that lesson that it's going to be delivered come hell or high water. Often the best outcome is achieved by following the direction the lesson is taking, because the audience remains engaged, rather than switching off and learning nothing. Art is the same. If I'm not liking what I'm painting, and push on regardless, I know I don't give it my best and I'm just finishing it for the sake of finishing it. The chances of ending up with something good are much reduced. Having said that though, I have several paintings that were in that situation and I ended up just slapping paint on in frustration without too much thought and they ended up being some of the best I've done. I thought I was just finishing for the sake of finishing but looking back, it was actually the painting leading me.

    Andrew, you never fail to give me material for my opening conversation with my students. They all love you and when I tell them you began again with a new or renewed idea for an entire landscape, it will help them have the confidence they need to change a small area of their portrait when they feel something isn’t quite right! You are amazing and generous with your knowledge and encouragement! Hugs to you and your family. Shalom, Diana

    Having to change an element in a painting is hard. If I've painted a long time on something, I pretty much feel it is where it needs to be.... But, I have done changes, and even on a painting that has sat for years, I'm thinking of putting into my digital art program to see if I need to do some changes. I think we do tend to be ok with what we design, feeling that all the effort on making the first rendering is just as it should be, not giving into the fact that we can do better, and challenge ourselves to do so.
    I can't wait to see how this developes!

I,m now the star pupil and am teaching them things I’ve learned from you. There faces when you get them they never thought possible is irreplaceable. And gives me a massive buzz. I actually got paid recently for a hours teaching. The most I’ve ever been hourly paid . It was to teach a friends granddaughter. She was blown away how much she learned . I’ve been booked again as a Christmas present for her.

    People who hate tracing don't know much about art history. Projectors and glass panes have been used for that for a long time. There's even furniture with glass and lights specifically built to help you trace. Most masters would make a small mockup of what they wanted to paint on a large canvas and retrace it unto the large one using whatever method they had. When learning and doing live modeling, you do that without "cheats" but when doing professional work, you'd be an idiot to avoid the best methods you can use

    With today's technology we can digitally add objects that we want to see .....I probably stick to paint what is real on that location. I just take photographs and paint what is really there. Stop fantazing what isn't there because future generations might use your work as reference . 100 years from now people on that time simply couldn't use your art because it's not real.
