    If you are an accomplished painter or just starting out, you owe it to yourself to at least try the 7 day free trial- Tisch Academy is overflowing with a variety of formats to learn the art of oil painting. Art School- only BETTER!! I love the weekly live streams where Andrew opens his studio for us to watch his process

      totally agree. I’ve been painting professionally since the mid 1990s and I’m learning so much. Andrew is so full of information. I so enjoy his livestreams on the Academy plus the content is the best around.

      @@paulwoodford1984 LOL- I know him in the sense that I am 65 years old and have worked at landscape painting for the past 30 years. I've spent a fair amount of money at various workshops. Each of these three-day workshops typically cost 400-650 dollars. After watching his youtube videos for 5-6 years I decided to give the Tisch Academy a try at far less than the cost of a single workshop. Andrew has no idea who I am- I just follow his lessons, listen to his podcast, and join in on his weekly live streams. What i find most effective is access to an ongoing learning event. If I take two workshops in one year they are often months apart. With Tisch Academy, I find I am more creatively energized because I can interact on the site every day, which keeps me mentally engaged in developing my art. But- no- I don't know him- I only know what his Academy has done for me. So, Yes, I will encourage others who are serious about actually getting better and not just sitting around watching TH-cam to at least trail the Tisch Academy. Paul, do you think artist on youtube are giving you their very best??????

    Tisch Academy is way better than an ‘art school’. I have been painting and learning art for 60 years and have learned so much more since joining. It is affordable. It is a community of like minded artists, striving to better our skills and support each other.

    With every brush stroke, you create the most dazzling landscapes. This one is so different from most of yours, due to the lack of a vast sky, and open landscape. It shows how close you can get and create an intimate setting with the viewer and the painting.
    I totally agree with you on not getting rid of brushes. I have them scattered about my studio in various boxes, brush stands, as well as loosely laying around. Of course for me, a new flat brush or liner is essential to making those crisp lines, but never underestimate the character of a brush that has been in the studio for years, adding texture to your painting!
    Yes, this painting would look good larger. You tend to do so well with the larger paintings. I have toyed with wanting to do larger canvases, but with more detail, than the huge murals I have done in the past.
    Always love when you upload a video that gives us a bit of information that we can take with us. Thank you so much!

    Hi Andrew, I've always been interested in using lead white and even bought a few tubes once, but safety concerns have held me back. The risks and cleanup process seem daunting. Could you share how you clean and store your equipment when working with this pigment, and how you handle waste disposal, particularly with a toddler around?

    • @LoriWoodward-gd5fl
      @LoriWoodward-gd5fl 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Andrew describes all this on his Academy Fundamentals course/post. I am not particularly careful with paint and cleanup no matter how hard I try. I’ve used lead white in the past, but now use Gamblin’s Flake White Replacement and also use Gamblin’s solvent free gel instead of Liquin. They’re no where as beautiful as the real thing, but a reasonable replacement.

    • @nickm7911
      @nickm7911 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @@LoriWoodward-gd5fl Thanks for sharing your experiences. I did consider trying Gamblin's Flake White Replacement, but this paint is basically just titanium white modified to mimic the texture and handling properties of lead white (and I believe it is also tinted with a warm pigment so the color is shifted away from the blue end of the spectrum). It does not offer the qualities I'd choose lead white for, namely its archival benefits and transparency. Genuine lead white forms the most flexible/durable paint film.
