Here is a quick tutorial on texture baking if you're unfamiliar: th-cam.com/video/2ClzsuExtCo/w-d-xo.html If you're having problems with blender crashing while baking textures I'm not sure what the problem is. I'd have to know more details about your hardware and blender settings to diagnose the issue. Feel free to share those settings and make sure your rendering device is optimized. Another possible issue could be the version of blender you're using so you may want to try updating it.
@@Jham3D I’m sorry if that sounded a little ungrateful. Your tutorial is spot on and it sent me in the right direction. Now I just have to fix my UV and or normals so when I use your awesome procedural dirt, I can put it in a texture map for game assets without seeing jagged edges on smooth surfaces! Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7GHz Processor NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6 16GB DDR4-3400 RAM 1TB SSD I bought 16GB of additional RAM but am currently in the middle of my first game mod and don’t want to lose pace.
No! You’re okay haha. Sorry for the late reply, I just moved to a new place this weekend. Those specs are similar to my last pc build in performance. Which did fine with everything but ran out of vram pretty quickly if I wasn’t careful. I only had 6gb on a 2060 RTX but I’m thinking you might have an issue with your 8gb while baking. Do you receive a CUDA error message at the bottom of your screen? If so, try switching your render device to CPU. It’ll be slower as CPU rendering/baking is but should fix that error message. Even if this error isn’t popping up, I suggest trying this. If it doesn’t work, let me know and maybe we can hop on a discord screen share or something to solve this
