SOMETHING I APPRECIATE SO SO MUCH about your video: Many informational videos likely would mention the more obvious features of a subject before diving into the lesser-known features that people would want to know about. You, however, went right to highlighting the new, exciting things I didn't know about Blender before hand rather than adding clickbait, and I find that so unique and awesome. I feel like I have an even greater and more inspiring understanding of this software now. Thanks : )
Yep.... Blender's come a long, long way since its baby days when I first started using it around 2000 or so. So freakin proud of Ton and the gang. Such an amazing feet of ingenuity. :)
Missed one. We make full dental restorations using blender as the base for our CAD work. I’ve personally fabricated over 1,000 cases using just blender, some that are full arc on multiple implants. No other software utilized.
@@blendereverythingIt is a bit different. Technically, Blender is built around CADwork paradigm, and is composed following CADwork principles. This is also why it is so different from the other applications.
Dang. I've been in the games industry for over 10 years, I am so used to Maya, Zbrush, etc. that it's difficult to change. However, I keep seeing amazing things done in Blender and so many students at a school where I mentor are using Blender now. I really need to give it a shot at some point.
They shouldn't change options, shortcuts and workflow every new version! That's a major bad thing. And they should try to aquire a new simulation system, Mantaflow is a buggy , crashy mess and delivers no good quality...
that's a great recap. you mentioned Grease Pencil and Freestyle, but you did miss Line Art and it's improvements that cover for some shortcomings of Freestyle (like intersections). 😊
@@ArameoDios No, it remote controls existing professional consoles like grandMA3 and Eos. That way you can use it for a high school theatre show, for a church, or to render lighting animations for a super bowl halftime show. And by “render”, I don’t mean visualize, I mean train.

More than a vid, each of these is a whole course going from beginner to advanced. There so much sitting in physics sim along that that alone could be a one year course on how to manipulate it. Same with particle systems and hair sims, sculpting can take a bit on it's own especially if you want to learn to do realistic faces with facial hair and whatnot.
For procedural generation and all sorts of simulation, although not mentioned among the other softwares here, is Houdini. Houdini is king of all things procedural and simulation.
Blender has a major shortcoming that I need to point out. It lacks a proper explanation of "technical drawing" (technical drawing) for the manufacturing industry! When I need to share my designs for production, Blender doesn't offer the necessary tools. The existing techniques are highly inadequate and incompatible with industry standards. Fundamental tasks like 2D technical drawings, dimensioning, page layout, scaling, and section views are missing. The focus is directly on 3D and visual work. It should allow for more specific and detailed workflows, enabling outputs suitable for production on paper. However, the developments seem to cater more to technicians with a focus on flashy presentations. I am a 62-year-old interior architect and have been working with project drawings and visualizations since 1989. From industry pioneers like 3DS to the present, I have worked professionally with every type of software. I am currently trying to transition to software where I can handle every phase of the process, which is why I am learning Blender. But as I mentioned, the lack of industry-compatible output features is a significant shortfall for professionals. Enthusiastic young people fail to see this issue.
Blender and 3DS fall in the versatile 3D software category they're not mainly archiviz , 3DS started like blender and over the years it got assimilated more and more into the autodesk suite of softwares
I know it's so cool,I used to learn blender in the past, but it's so complicated, learning this app is like learnig how to become a doctor, actually no,it's way harder than becoming a doctor
Step One: Spend a few years learning to master the skills of modeling, sculpting, lighting, animating and editing. Step Two: Make your movie. Step Three: Collect your Oscar Award. 😁
It sounds amazing and is the first video that really makes me want to learn the software. But just out of curiousity, who actually uses just Blender? Everyone I know use a multitude of softwares geared toward various stages in production.
The primary thing that made me switch from Maya to Blender was the Decimate modifier of all things. Maya has a function called Reduce, but it is absolutely horrible. Decimate is leagues ahead.
Blender is an all-in-one package, free, reliable and consistent. But for now any single module that you review separately - loses in comparison to the dedicated softwares. Only if you use it in a studio environment, where you have python programmers capable of writing modules for Blender - then you can make true miracles. But with all honesty - these 6 yrs I've been using Blender after 10+ years in 3dsmax were the best. Blender rocks

The most brain shattering and soul breaking thing that blender can perform is crash before you save
file-> recover-> autosave, has saved me more times than i can count
kekeekekek
Exactly😭😭
Blender auto save automatically even when it crashes. Never lost a file in blender and it rarely crashed over the past 15 years I’ve been using it
if that does happen, and you goto autosave or recover and your file is quit.blend and it's in your temp folder, navigate to temp, to recover the file rename quit.blend to quit.blend1.
Reopen that file, then resave that recovery file as your new backup
Don’t ask what a 3D application can do for you, ask what you can do with the 3D application.

What surprises me most is that you get all that for Free!
its amazing
except for some plugins but yeah. everything is free and open source which is just wack. no one is as kind as the guy who made blender in this era.
