@@woodyhorton8537ngl the nun character absolutely terrified me after the Conjuring 2, it’s one of the only horror movie characters i’ve ever had nightmares about. i started to watch The Nun last night to face my fear and hopefully enjoy a good scary movie, but i lost interest around the part where Irene finds that the priest went missing in the middle of the night and ended up in the coffin underground. the acting was bad, the characters are silly, they show the Nun too much to the point where it takes away the mystery and creepiness from the character…idk, maybe i’ll finish it, but i am grateful the movie seems to be so bad that i’m not really afraid of that character anymore lol

    • @woodyhorton8537
      @woodyhorton8537 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sierramobley8962 I agree 100 percent the nun seemed nerfed and overpowered at the same time somehow. Like they didn't even know its name and still no one died or had more than an inconvienience like getting buried alive or have zombies chase for a few even tho it's on the screen most of the movie creeping around like some scooby doo villian bending space and time but still doing nothing... I still don't know what it's goal was in that whole movie (never possessed anyone) but then again it's probably cuz i was bored and likely just wasn't paying as much attention but yea it sucked so bad that i barely even remember the ending lol conjuring 2 on the other hand was damn near perfect and like u said the nun was creepy af and only lost because she knew its name. I wouldn't even bother finishing the nun if i were u its literally just whatever to the point i still can't even think what it was even tho i've seen it a few times from what i remember its the girl who's not quite a nun yet getting ahold of christs blood or something like that like and using it which sounds like an rpg quest

Death Sentence is one of my favourite movies of all time. I can put it in and just sit there and be entertained from start to finish. Love John Goodman’s character. The grieving parents are portrayed very well and the challenging relationship with their surviving son. One of my favourite scenes is when Nick goes to buy the guns and the dad to dad conversation. Very tense.
I agree about the first and second act of the Conjuring being better than the final act. I feel that way about the Conjuring 2 as well. Favourite part of that movie is the scene with the crooked man

Death Sentence was my favorite revenge movie since Death Wish. I was wondering how well Kevin Bacon would do in a role like this and stand against the great Charles Bronson. But I absolutely loved it. The way he started skittery because he didn’t know what he was doing but then he starts getting deeper and darker, I seriously didn’t know this was a James Wan movie until you mentioned it. The Conjuring 2 for me is definitely no 1 because it is very personal for me growing up in London in an old house, very much like the house in the movie. As a child I have quite a few memories of being scared in my own home that is so similar to certain parts in this movie, especially the strange noises and bangs in the middle of the night, the tv switching channels and the remote vanishing and reappearing somewhere else, and of course not forgetting the chair in the corner of the living room. For me, we had an old rocking armchair that creeped me out many times as a kid. It's an awesome movie!

Hell yeah! Death Sentence is amazing. One of my all time favorites too.
    Here’s my ranking
Dead Silence - haven’t seen it in like 12 years. Didn’t like it at the time so I haven’t revisited it since.
Saw - Really don’t care for this entire franchise. Not for me.
Insidious 2 - Pretty much share the same thoughts as you
Malignant - a crazy fun ride but to me it was kinda messy. Felt like 3 or 4 different movies in one but overall a movie I like and will rewatch.
Aquaman - a fun over the top ride. Really liked Patrick Wilson’s character and a lot of the visuals. Again, same thoughts as you pretty much.
The Conjuring - a great horror but to me, as time went on, I just started to not like it as much. Still great nonetheless and one I revisit every October.
The Conjuring 2 - I liked the scares more, loved the Warrens relationships with the family and overall, just a more fun movie than the first imo.
Furious 7 - I loved how over the top this one is. As soon as The Rock Rockbottoms Jason Statham I knew that this movie was gonna be a blast. I wish this was the last installment since what comes after this movie...wasn’t...good.
Insidious - one of my favorite horror movies. Love the low quality, grainy look and feel the movie has, love the scares, love the score and music, the comedy and just overall love pretty much everything about this movie
Death Sentence - one of my all time favorite movies. I remember watching this for the first time years ago on cable tv and falling in love with it instantly. Just like you, the revenge action sub genre is one of my favorites
Would love if you reviewed Death Sentence so more people would know of its existence and give it a watch. Keep up the fun content man.

The Conjuring is my favorite for obvious reasons, saw it in theaters on my 18th, but Insidious comes in right after. Best Friend and I went to see it in theaters when it released, totally blind. I believe we’d actually intended to see something else but decided to see Insidious last minute when we saw the poster. It was just the two of us in the pitch black theater with surround sound and we nearly jumped out of our skin, so I’ve always and will always have a special place in my heart for that one. It was one of my most fun theater experiences.

While I mostly loved "Saw" (the one time I saw it), I totally get your criticism of it. The problem is Cary Elwes' American accent sounds horribly forced, yet he's been cast over and over as an American, for some reason. I don't get it.

I agree with you on Death Sentence! I've always really liked it & thought it was underrated. My second honestly is probably Malignant, followed by Dead Silence. You're right tho, all of James Wan films have been good to great, I just happen to appreciate these 3 the most.

The Malignant rant alone was worth it LOL! Dead Silence is a hidden gem! Love these rankings esp. where I disagree. Nice to see someone’s true opinion over what they are “supposed to” rank. Keep the awesome rankings coming! Yes Death Sentence is so damn awesome!!!

The internet hates Aquaman because it's popular. The internet loved Endgame then immediately acted as if it wasn't as good as they said it was. Same thing with No Way Home. If something gets massively popular they change their mind.

You get a like from me because Dead Silence was one of the first horror films I saw, before Saw. I want to review this movie one day and I 100% agree that it is underrated. It's the first horror movie I engaged in.

Another great ranking. I agree with hardly any of it but its good to hear another person's perspectives. I adore the Saw Franchise 1-5 with the rest being fine. I love Cary Elwes full stop. I found the The Conjuring franchise/Fast and Furious/Dead Silence outright boring in fact I find the Conjuring insulting to the people it affected with the Warren's rubbish. Aquaman was watchable/fun purely because Jason Momoa was in it. Dead Silence was good but not a film I'd find rewatchable. I am looking forward to seeing his new film - Your right you didn't spoil a thing - but it has borrowed alot from previous films of this genre. (I do like full on Spoilers, with limited time I have to be very selective and don't want to waste time watching a film I'm not interestedinterested in)

Death Sentence for me has to be my number one. I just love the whole revenge flick and you really feel for Kevin Bacon's character and you just really want him to fuck up that gang. Great film!

Thankyou I’m so glad someone else agrees with me that saw is not as good as everything seems to think it is. Impressive hell yes with the budget ! Twist is pretty good but the acting besides from Tobin bell I say leaves a lot to be desired. I still like this film but it’s good to see someone else agree with me

Dead Silence is my favorite James Wan film (Malignant being the third) one of the few horror movies that scared me funny thing is out of the 5 movies that scared me 4 are by James Wan. (Conjuring 1&2 Insidious & Dead Silence) the twist in Dead Silence is brilliant when Mary says now who's the dummy & watching Jamie finally scream chills me to the bone even today. Agree with Malignant the twist was obvious. Death Sentence broke me. Its my fav Kevin Bacon film. Its so good
