I will have to say that I will defend Jaws 2 I still think that Jaws 2 is a good movie not as good as 1 but still good. 3 and 4 are terrible though.
Jason takes a boat. Oh man. The movie is so bad but the kill where he punches the guys head off just gets me 😂
And the way Jason grabs Julius's shoulder before he punches his head off as if to say "You got guts kid."

20:21 I hated how in Nightmares 4-6 Freddy went from a scary character with sick, twisted dark humour to a comedy act making bad jokes for the sake of it. Wes Craven's New Nightmare made him creepy again and thankfully in Freddy vs Jason he was more like Nightmares 1-3 Freddy than 4-6 Freddy.

NOES 4 Freddy Wasn't that bad he was good for the most part, Part 5 freddy not so much and Part 6 Freddy.. well the less i say about that the better.
Rest in peace, Judith Barsi (the young actress who played Thea Brody who will always be remembered for voicing Ducky in the first Land Before Time movie). Poor kid. Both she and her mother didn't deserve to die like that.

He isn't afraid of having opinions and sharing them, like let's be real how many people would have the balls to admit, you know what psycho isn't the best ever. He would be one of the only ones to do it. I can respect someone who is honest about their opinions and isn't trying to go for a normal answer just bc that's what other people think. And c. IMPO that remake after the first 25 minutes does suck.
I wasn't even aware it gets hated on. It's intense, fun and thrilling. Jason is an absolute beast in it, just like he should be. People who dislike it are just wrong!

Freddy's Dead is such a guilty pleasure of mine, same with Seed of Chucky. They're so, so bad that I get a lot of fun out of them. Also, the power glove kill definitely aged the flick hard. The NES power glove was a real thing that died about a year after debuting. It's sort of fitting that the only time it'd work would involve a psychotic dream demon 🤔.

I agree with you on Halloween 5. I love Halloween 4 so much that 5 made me angry. I’m actually writing and directing a fan film that’s a sequel to Halloween 4 and completely retcons 5 & 6.

@@scrubbb4079 Good but difficult because I’m writing two scripts simultaneously. One that takes place after Halloween 4 and has no Michael Myers whatsoever and another that does have him. Once I’m done I’ll pitch both to a studio and see which they’d prefer.
Alien: Covenant was a horrible sequel. So many dumb decisions and raised a lot of unanswered questions

So dumb they totally threw out the whole story from prometheus just scrapped it

Cody, you and Drumdums are by far my favorite youtubers to watch. I really just wanna see your channels explode as you both put out awesome content. You guys both have passion for horror and film that can’t be faked and it’s a pleasure to watch. Don’t let anybody or anything discourage you guys from doing what you do because in my opinion you both do it better than anybody I’ve seen on here.
Cody and Dundrums are sworn enemies now, does anyone know what happened between them? I heard it was something about Dundrums ripping off Cody's content or a disagreement in politics or something like that but remember when they would give each other shout outs and now....nothing. I've heard Dundrums can be a bit of an ass and downright disrespectful and that why he is kind of on his own in the TH-cam world. I would love to have known what actually went down.

Seed of chucky has my favorite chucky look its so clean. Also glenn had two souls trapped in his body so that's why there was the split in personality and why they each got their own body
Woo great countdown. I feel you on Aliens 3. While not awful, can’t forgive just dropping the ending to Aliens basically to pivot to the story Fincher wanted to tell. I’d argue while I can watch even the worst Aliens after that -this decision did hurt the franchise storyline. Also never even knew Lost Boys had sequels. Learn something new every day. Also totally got what you meant on The Next Generation. It didn’t add to the horror of Leatherface and it didn’t know what it wanted to be.
Cody’s reasons for hating Alien 3 are understandable, I do not think he would enjoy the resident evil movies 😂.

I absolutely agree with Freddy’s Dead and Seed Of Chucky. I just sit there in bewilderment for both. Fright Night 2: New Blood would make my list even though it’s not even a sequel at all. What is with that title?

10:39 There's also a lot of scenes where The Creeper's running around in broad daylight which makes him a lot less scary and the whole film feels like it's building to a big fight that never comes. I don't get why it was set after Jeepers Creepers but before Jeepers Creepers 2 either.
The setup with the Detective and his history with the Creeper was the most interesting part, but went absolutely nowhere.
The only possible payoff I could think of was the Detective purposefully dying so his spirit could become one with the Creeper, so he could kill it from the inside, but the movie ends without exploring any further.
I think that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III can count as horror right.

the problem with the Halloween sequels between 1981-2002 including the remake and it’s sequel is that they got so top heavy with the mythology lore and backstory that it took away the essence of what makes the 1978 horror classic so good
Michael doesn’t need a cult or some weird supernatural nonsense to be scary. He’s literally just pure evil in human form. That’s it. That’s all you need to know
I agree, the first one is so good because it feels like it's a situation anyone could find themselves in. The main characters are just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Halloween has good sequels, but none really capture that feeling.
Sounds like you guys really don't understand the structure of sequels! Sequels as opposed to expound on the original formula, not copy and paste. They're supposed to differentiate, that's the whole point...

The problem honestly comes from the fact that Halloween isn’t a film that needed expanded on. It was a simple plot that was meant to be a standalone story. The more you try to add to it the less impact it has.

In some versions of the ending you can hear Darry screaming as old Creepy tortures him.

Halloween 5 was the Halloween that was shown on TV the most, and it was so frustrating that they always showed that one instead of the first one.
I had the misfortune of seeing Freedie #6 in theaters. I sat there stunned. Place was packed and everyone walked out in silence. What a diaster.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but to me Final Nightmare is so bad it's amazing. It fails miserably as a horror movie, but I'm never bored watching Freddy's convoluted nonsense and laughing at the absolute stupidity of the dialogue. Robert Englund sounds like he's having a fun time and that just makes me have a fun time too.
I think my least favorite sequel is Ring 2. I don't know why, I just can't get invested in it unlike the first movie. I just feel like the mystery elements of the first movie got scrapped in favor of some sort of demonic possession narrative, and the mystery element is what drew me in. A sorta slow burn realization of the mythology of the videotape. I even liked Rings cuz there was that sort of slow burn mystery behind what was happening. Ring 2 didn't really have that imo and for that reason it didn't land for me.

6:29 It's got a really shitty novelisation too Cody where it's said that a witch doctor put a curse on the Brody family and resurrected the shark from the original and sent it after them. Which is stupid because Jaws never had supernatural elements. It was just about a great white shark that unlike real life great whites had an appetite for human flesh and terrorised an island.

my favourite part about his hatred for Freddy's Dead is I have the movie poster for it and the tag line is ironically "They Saved The Best For Last"

Truth
I remember how I felt when I seen the Seed of chucky poster at the theater and was so excited because of the ending of Bride of chucky. I remember it being the biggest let down for any character I loved. I have a good guy doll now but not that movie. The memory is hard enough.

I haven't seen half the movies on this list but completely agree on Destination 4, Aliens 3, Manhatten & Halloween 5. Although I've watched all of them twice (H5 maybe thrice). Alien 3 is like Terminator Dark Fate to me, arguably not the worst in the franchise but just pointless. And I'm definitely the type of person who looks at following up a great/good film with trash worse than just another bad film in a string of many. Some of my suggestions below:
Poltergeist III: As a big fan of II (more than the original because of Kane) the whole story with just the production makes it unwatchable to me.
American Psycho 2: Again, the prior film is so far ahead and although I could understand the opening to a sequel, they just did the worst job possible.
Carrie 2: Lot of people forget this and I thought it was a joke watching on tv once. Lo and behold, absolutely pointless, all around cheap inferior copy.
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer: This is a case of the first one not being that great so understandable but it's A LOT worse. I actually couldn't finish watching it all three times it came up.
Hellraiser sequels. There are a few options depending on how you slice it. Hell on Earth is my #1 pick because I think Hellraiser 2 is genius and well done and prefer it over the original. But at the same time if I look at Inferno, that was the start of non-hellraiser scripts with pinhead shoehorned in and I really enjoyed the way they were going with Bloodline (one day maybe get the extended cut). The you have Revelations which I haven't seen but was done for copyright reasons and is an absolute dumpster fire by every single review.

I’m going to be honest with you. Friday the 13 Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is my top 4 Friday films. I love it! Also I have to say Freddy’s Dead is my favorite Nightmare on Elm Street film. Lol I do agree with you about Seed of Chucky, I think it sucks. Have a nice day!

I actually kind of liked Scream 3. The world within worlds thing is always fun and the kill scene with Cotton at the start is well done. But like pretty much all the scream movies, once you get to the big reveal of who the killer is, its like 'ah who cares'.

I’m a Freddy Fanatic as well Cody and I completely understand why Freddys Dead is #1 it’s without a doubt the worst film of the franchise and it’s sad because it’s apart of my favorite horror franchise of all time it has my favorite horror villain and favorite final girl ever and the way they did Freddy in this movie was TERRIBLE!!! thank goodness Wes Craven came back to do A New Nightmare
The only good thing about Freddy’s Dead was the theme song for it by the Goo Goo Dolls.

Haha I actually love Freddy’d Dead 🤣 Funny Freddy is my favorite that’s why. I love Jason Takes Manhattan too...the movie is anything but I still find them enjoyable to watch. I think Jason X is the worst in the franchise. I’ma say The Curse of Michael Myers is my least favorite in the original 1-8 films. The thorn thing just really took me out of it

I'm weird in that I think Resurrection is a better Halloween film than Curse of Michael Myers, but I enjoy Curse more. But there are aspects within Resurrection that I also like.
Let's hear it for more Jason Takes Manhattan love. Best film of the Friday the 13th franchise. Easily.
Jason X is not that bad at all. Freddy vs. Jason is the worst thing connected to both the Friday the 13th and Nightmare franchises.
I couldn't believe how bad Jason X was...I know the premise was out there...but they could have had a lot more fun with the concept....but it was just so boring and uneventful...not to mention it looked like a SyFy channel film. It does have one of the best kills of the franchise though...so I'll give it that.
The worst Friday movie for me is Jason Goes To Hell. Just... The soul worm. I like they tried something new, but MAN did it fall flat.
Jason in Space (jason x) is pretty bad.
