Missus here. I had the 1957 version. I may still have it tucked away in a cabinet. Thank you for the memories!

I had a version of this in the 90’s, and loved it!!

I used to check this neato cookbook out of the public library over and over...I remember the "pig pears," castle cake, etc. What fun!

Finally, the cookbook my next door neighbor and best friend gave me for my 10th birthday. So very happy to locate one as I never knew what happened to mine over the years. Have so many fond memories of cooking for the family out of this cookbook. Thanks for sharing.

I had this book as a kid, and it was one of my favorite gifts ever! I loved to look through the book as a kid, and I made so many recipes out of it! So many memories! I teared up when I saw the Mother's Day cake since I made one for my mother one year, and she is no longer with us. Thank you for sharing the book! It makes me so happy! I have been hunting for this book for a while since it's so nostalgic for me. So expensive on Ebay, and they were not in good condition. You're lucky that you found one in such good condition and for so cheap! I'm jealous! I'm sure I will watch your video again.

Vintage cookbooks can make me tear up, too! Like if I browse through my mother and grandmother's copies of Betty Crocker, and see stains on the pages of the cookie recipes, I remember them baking those cookies for me!

It was my first cookbook. I was given Betty Crocker's small kitchen appliances too. I used to cook breakfast and lunch for my siblings as a teenager.

I had this cookbook as a kid, in 1959. It fascinated me then and still does. Those terrible recipes and lurid color photos - fabulous! (Actually, there were a few dishes that were pretty good.) But “Ham” Loaf Hawaiian”, gahhh! A whole can of Spam for each person, decorated with cloves, maraschino cherries, and canned pineapple slices, served on a lettuce leaf! Hahahahaaaaaaa! It’s a wonder we survived the 60’s, the food alone coulda killed us!!

LOL! Luckily I came from a vegetarian family so I missed out on the weird meat combos. But my mom made a heck of a lot of gross Jello "salads" with carrots, cucumbers and once.. PUKE.. sweet potatoes!!!

I didn't own this particular cookbook, I was a kid in the 90s and my grandparents had the original 1950s cookbook for boys and girls. I grew up using that one, loving the illustrations in it! I would love to see them do a reprint on this one! A lot of the recipes are the same as the earlier one.
