I am blessed to be close to 3 of our 4 children and our 5 grands. We have one child about 8 hours away. Eight hours don't seem too far unless that baby is sick or going through the challenges of being an adult. I will pray that an opportunity will present itself and that you will know that God put it there just for you!

Oh my I was not expecting to cry but girl this got me. Seeing Shane standing at is daddy's grave holding flowers and then your letter to him had the tears flowing. I'm so glad that Shane was able to learn more about his daddy. If he was even a small portion of the dad that Shane is to y'all's kids that he must have been somegthing great. Shane is a dad your kids can be proud of. And his "love you" at the end to you says so much. You two are a great team and appear to be raising some wonderful kids. Prayers for you all. This was the most heartwarming video!! Shane looks alot like his Dad. To be the man he is today without having had his Dad present in his life it a testimony to the man Shane truly is. I'm so happy that he has you Merina to push forward and experience this with him and all the family. Always remember, there are 2 sides to all stories and memories are things we alone own. Merina, you are one in a million. The love you have for Shane and your children is evident in everything you do. Making something like this happen for Shane is beyond love, it's a gift that will keep giving for years to come. I must have missed the episode about how Shane got separated from his family, but there is beauty in finding them and seeing how much they see their Dad in him. The tribute you wrote to your father in law melted every heart that heard it. Much love to all of you.
He’s going to sit down with us and talk when he’s ready 😊 it was a whole lot to process and I wouldn’t dare rush it. He’s grieving over his dad in a very different way and we’re trying to learn to navigate allllll the feelings!

Merina, that was so sweet of your love for Shane and your father in law, I’m tearing up right now. I never knew who my father was and it was so hard, I just found out through a DNA but that side does not want to acknowledge me so it won’t hurt others and it’s ok now that I’m almost 60, but I dreamed about who he was all my life like what was his occupation or what did he look like all those things. I’m so happy for Shane to learn about who his Father was and maybe get most of his questions answered. Love to your family and sorry this comments so long

There are no words to explain how I feel watching this video. What an amazing thing you have done for the love of your life. When you were showing a picture of the boys sleeping I noticed them almost hugging. Colton is always going to be his brother's keeper. Love your family so much.

There is something about knowing who you are, what your heritage is, I believe this has opened up a whole new world for all of you. I have been praying for you and your family. I'm a mama of 7 who homestead homeschool and we live in a small single wide like yours.I dream of the day we can declutter etc. It's har to get rid of somethings our oldest passed away 5 years ago, shew as 12 from an asthma attack. And you remind me of my younger self. we have twins boy/girl age 15, please if you have time send prayers our way we will be debt free at the end of June and we have been struggling to get there. Love you and your precious family.

Oh, my. Merina, God put you and Shane together for so many reasons. This is just one, Honey. With your last little open letter to your Father-in -law, you put tears in my eyes. My Samantha had already don that to, sending me a audio of her singing to her baby. We all have so much to be thankful for because of the love people have for us, but no one could live us more than our Jesus. On top of that, look how he uses us to do good things in our lives. God bless and keep you all.

Family is everything. Finding out where you came from is important especially to find the truth. Sometimes the truth hurts but it is amazing to know. I am so glad that Shane was able to find family that knew his dad. Daddies are incredibly important to children, for Shane he has done a amazing job of being a dad with the children especially when he has learned it by the seat of his pants.
Omg i cried for all of you. I cant imagine what Shane went thru growing up with no dad. Im so lucky to have my dad still at age 55. Please give Shane a huge hug from me. If i didn't live in Michigan I'd do it myself.

My Dad has been gone now for 13 yrs this March and I'm a only child and my parents divorced. It's really hard to grieve when no one can relate to the extent that you feel when it's your Dad and you feel so alone. Big hugs to Shane and what a beautiful HelpMate you are to your Husband. Ok, I don’t think it would be possible to watch this without crying! Happy tears and sad tears both. I’m just thrilled that it was possible for you all to take this trip and I hope it was all you hoped it could be. For Shane to be the amazing father he is shouldn’t come easy to him but clearly our Heavenly Father stepped up and looked after him and showed him the way. Im so glad you guys got to meet Shane's family by the end of the video i was in tears. Please don't make the bed if you are checking out. Coming from a former housekeeper, just leave the bed. House keepers are just gonna strip it to change the sheets. I liked it when it was striped and in a pile ready to change also the towels etc in a pile that makes it easier and faster....some of us are paid so much a room not by the hour. 😊

My Father-in-law just died the day before Christmas suddenly, and It hurt me as much as my kids because he was such a good father-in-law; you guys have such a beautiful family. I love watching. We stay at home wood suits when we would visit our daughter at college. The maid messed up. They are supposed to unload that dishwasher. And have everything put away. That microwave is a confection oven. So you can bake in it. Hope it was a super fun trip. It’s great to travel. Kids really learn about the world traveling. It’s good for the entire family. I’m watching this way later so I hope it was a nice trip for y’all. Leslye
