Also, I would like to tell you that whenever you go to those type of places and shop, people don't usually notice that there are empty boxes that you can put your meat and other loose items into. When I had trouble with words my Nannie would always tell me I got my tongue wrapped around my eye teeth and I couldn’t see what I was saying. Lol I loved her so big!

I separate everything and portion it out with enough for each meal. I just use zip lock freezer bags and I label and date everything. We go to Sams about every 6 weeks. You will be surprised just how much you can save. Enjoy.
I like to meal prep too. It takes the stress out of cooking, Saves time and that way you can stick to the meal plan easier. I might be up all night the day I get the haul in, but cutting and freezing it up all at once saves on throwing it out if it goes too long then the savings turns into costing more.
All of those big box food chains are a rip off. It’s sad people don’t pay attention to weights and prices. 😔 Where you believe you’re saving you get gouged on other items. Amazon is so much cheaper on most bulk snack items which is what it seems she is buying.

I recommend a seal a meal for your food. It keeps the frozen meat from getting freezer burned and keeps everything else fresh. It is so helpful when you buy bulk food. You can make the bags into whatever size you want. It has been very helpful for me, so I thought I would pass it along to you. I love watching your family and how you treat each other. You are a great example of a good, loving and respectful family. Thanks for sharing with us.

I commented yesterday,and this is simply a kind suggestion. Think about putting the table next to Shane's chair not in the corner. He will need to put a glass etc. down and will need that table. The floor lamp looked great on the other side of couch and that table doesn't need a lamp just simple decor. Love that you thrift!!

I wonder if you might like a slipcover for your sectional section? They make them for the L shaped sectionals, would hide your empty spot and make it easier to clean the couch too.

To help make more room in the deep freezer take things out of boxes. You can use large ziplock bags to keep like items together or the baskets and keep breakfast items together etc. So amazing to feel like adults!!! Happy living. " Tip" remove items fm boxes. Write on packaging in magic marker what each are, will save even more space in freezer !!!! Hubs does this to ours on grocery day !!!!

My Mamaw had one of those singing fish hung on her very nice dining room walls. She was such a proper lady it was one of those things that I got a lot of joy out of seeing in her home.
Shane was cracking me up at the big bag of mozzarella cheese 😂. If you find yourself not going through the bag that fast it freezes really well. I usually buy mine in bulk like that and then keep a smaller quart sized bag in my fridge that I can refill as needed. All the food looks delish! Makes me want to try a one month challenge too

I remember the first time I went shopping at Costco and checked out the total made me sick!! But I just trusted the process went home and took inventory and was surprised to find out it really does and did save money! You got this guys!

Hey Merina: It is such a blessing seeing how excited you get doing beautiful things for your family. Just a tip to make more space in your freezer. Whenever possible take the food out of the boxes put it in the freezer bags and then put the box instructions in the bag with the food. Saves space and you also don't have to remember the temperature and time for each food. This saves so much space in my freezer. Hope this helps for future bulk shopping.
I also like to portion the food out too. That way your able to meal plan easier.

I went to Costco today. Went straight to the dog food , toilet paper,, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent etc... looked at the rugs and left i was so proud of myself. Only bought my list!!!!

I usually separate my meats & put them in freezer bags w/ different kinds of marinade 🤗 I also open the huge bags of cheese, put them in smaller freezer bags & freeze them & pull out what I need ... the freezer is so great !! When my kids were younger I froze so much bread, cheese, butter & bagel pizzas ... lol.. & that c

We did a Sam's run today.
Get you some laundry baskets, the big rectangular ones, and stack them inside each other when empty. On Sam's runs, separate them and load your purchases inside those baskets. It will cut down on trips back and forth to car. You can also use the plastic grocery bags if you have any on hand, just put them in the car and load the Sam's purchases into those.

My recliner came in two pieces. The back usually slides off. Easier to move for next time! Isn't that just how it goes when you find something at the thrift store you just purchased! I tell myself, someone else that needs it will get it. Enjoyed today's video.

we want new livingroom as well but right now ours is good. we got the l shaped kasan from biglots and it's still going after 2 yrs. It's just too dark for my liking and when we can afford new it will be a bit lighter. We will be giving our old to my sil and brother who live in Harrison near Chattanooga..
Year before last my daughter went on her first away camp with the school. I didn’t know what to do with myself for 4 days.
I love my Costco!!! We buy bulk meat there. But you can never leave without spending $300!
That initial money loss is a hard hit lol
When we go to Costco we buy the chicken thighs and legs. We also buy the big pork loins, then slice them up into chops and roasts. Saves a ton of money!!!
My daughter just bought a half of steer from a local farmer and shared with us, figured out it cost us $3.35 a pound.

You could put that table you rehabbed in between the recliner and the chair to hide the divide.
This was exciting, I was so nervous watching that chair cover blowing in the wind as you drove. The chair looks good in the living room, you have a gift for decorating. The Sam’s Club haul was impressive. The freezer seems perfect for what you need. The meal planning is a good idea, dividing the meats into meal size portions will make it work. Don’t forget to label each package with the date, contents, and intended use. HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉🎉🎉
Merina, you might be able to cover the black area on the remaining couch with some microfiber* fabric so you don't have to drape the blanket.
(Edit: *presuming its a microfiber couch.)
My Dad's work boots ate through the fabric on the foot area of his recliner. I used fabric and a staple gun to cover it up. Actually, might want to bring that up with Shane. Don't wear shoes, or protect that area from the beginning?
was thinking same about sofa... manufacturer might have a kit or replacement fabric made for a cushion which could be modified for the arm...
What we do is use meat in freezer/fridge, as that empties we transfer the next week's meat from big freezer to fridge freezer, this way things do get rotated and no freezer burned meat. You should invest in a foid saver machine. They do come in handy too,! GREAT job on the food haul demo Shane!!! Love to the whole family
I love my food vacuum sealer. I keep it, the roll of bags, and a sharpie marker in same drawer.

I consider myself blessed in so many ways, but until today I have never been so so so jealous of someone!! I honestly thought they were a myth, I was shocked 😲 and gutted at the same time. Like seriously, that cinnabon was unreal!!! I was drooling 🤤 😋 we don't have things like that in the uk.

Merina, you will love the freezer, it’s great when Turkeys, Chicken and burger is on sale. You should make one of those trays that many make for their range cover but for the freezer, matching your wall …. Would look cool.

I grew up shopping at Sam’s Club with my parents every few months. We drove 3.5 hours from Kansas to Colorado to get away and my mom would pack a cooler and used the boxes they have when you exit the store. I would highly suggest to shop their sale ads that come out every couple of months. Over the years, it seems like we mostly get most of our non-food items from there. I love their rotisserie chicken to make soup and freeze the rest.
Can you online order from Sam's club or is it strictly in store? We are 350 miles from the nearest Sam's.

Hi marina can I give you a tip, make list of what in freezer, stick it somewhere you can see it and as you use it cross off list. When I had all my family at home I had chest freezer and until I did this food got lost in the bottom and sometime it had to be thrown out. Hope you don’t mind me suggesting this. Good luck. Xxx
You need a food saver sealer. Just jot on the bag before you put in the sealer. Amazing how you can forget what you have. I do this every time I go to sams. No freezer burn with it either. I even divide out the deli meat and cheese and freeze it.

I think it’s a smart move to bulk buy for your family. I’m trying to eat more at home. It’s so easy to eat out and not have the cooking or mess afterwards to deal with. Give yourself 3 months doing the monthly meal shopping. That's a huge shift in how you shop, store and cook, give yourself grace for the adjustment. Buying in bulk should help cut down the rising food costs too. I've been making my own chicken nuggets, pulled pork (made it in the oven too!) & London broil. I think a lot of us are trying to find ways to still afford to eat the things we're use to eating without going broke. No more eating out for us. I love your shop local efforts, we do the same thing. As for those energy drinks, my fiance stopped drinking those things, did nothing else different and lost 37lbs in like 3 months. He stopped because the "crash" from drinking them was giving him such major headaches so the 37lbs was a bonus. It's tough to kick a bad habit, I can't fully give up my chocolate 😫.
