This is the BEST road-trip video! I LOVE the magnetic food tray idea. Literally a game changer. Your video definitely stands out - not the typical ipad, snacks, mess free colors road trip. ❤
I am a kid myself but I need this video for my younger sister and my you're right brother and for me to get ideas of what to do and this video was very useful. I like the beading one the most because I am crafty
Yes! Finally, I solution to organizing between two bucket seats. And an alternative to those lap trays that didn’t work for our car seats either! ❤️ Thank you so much for the tips! So helpful!
This is the most helpful video i have seen for the travel ideas❤❤ i am really grateful! You suggested things which i already have at home and no not adding on to the expenses. You are so thorough! I am excited for my travels with my little one, trying all these things🎉
Wow, thank you so much for sharing all these amazing road trip activities for young kids! It's evident that you've put a lot of thought and effort into making the journey just as enjoyable as the destinations. I love how you've created a road trip activity kit with easily accessible and organized drawers. Your tips and suggestions are so practical and cost-effective. I can't wait to try them out on our next family road trip. Thanks again for sharing your expertise and inspiring us with these creative ideas!
Love these ideas!!! Running to the dollar tree to get sheets for our kids and making cute things personalized to them for our cross country trip!! What great ideas!! 💞
This is an amazing video full of advice! I've been wracking my brain for a lapdesk type surface that will actually work with a carseat - and you just answered my prayers 🤣 Plus - now I've got so many more ideas! Thanks for this!
I love these ideas. I am a big fan of my travel binder. This just inspired me to get a magnetic sheet that has those adhesive backings. Stick it to the inside of the binder and add your ideas to it :D
Used cookie sheets for every road trip. We also used the magnets for bingo and tic tac toe. My kids are 13 and 16 and the alphabet game is still one of our favorites.
@@AdventuresWithTheHills that’s what I ended up doing but a piece of me was trying to get around shopping in person for another thing BUT we got half sheets and magnetic cubes and they were great for the kids, thanks for the tip!
Thank you my friend this is awesome activity with the kids ❤💯I have enjoyed your time with many ideas I have two grandchildren and one on the way so Im more excited to try this with them love it❤👩❤️👩🤰 keep it up👍 God bless✝️
I had noisy kids with me at a restaurant and had them act out sounds of animals , things got very quiet when I suggested they all make the sound of a bunny makes and they all had grins on their faces, looking at one another to ask what a bunny sounds like! (LOL!) they were so quiet?
I may be overthinking this, but what brand/type of magnets do you use to attach to the back of things, and how do you attach it? Asking because hot glue and crazy/super glue have both not worked for me in the past
Thanks! As far as I can remember, the cookie sheets haven’t slid off the kids laps. My son says they’ve wiggled around a bit sometimes, but not fallen off.
Thanks so much for your comment! A few snack thoughts - pick snacks that won’t be messy (dry, not too crumbly), such as dried fruit, granola bars, goldfish, pretzels, cheese strings, etc. We like to have snacks that are a bit on the healthier side, with some sweets mixed in (keep away sugar crashes). Let the kids pick out a treat or two for the trip that they’re excited about. For younger kids, pass them snacks in a smaller container with just the amount they need (don’t pass back a whole bag of something). Make sure the snacks are accessible before you start your trip and that everyone has water nearby! Enjoy your trip!!
My kids typically love fancy mixed nuts, seaweed, fruit leathers, apple sauce pouches, and fresh fruit. 🥰 I have 5 so it is crazy on long road trips. We aim for healthy, not so much sugar that it will make them go crazy, but not too messy either, and they seem to do really great with these items, plus they are shelf stable so don't need heating or cooling.
Me and my brother made a game we play on long car rides called "The Superhero Game" how it works is you have a superhero or villain in mind and you try to get your opponents to guess who the character is you givr aways hints, clues, details about them and first person who guess the hero/villain wins and now its their turn me, my dad and brother and three made it up for years weve always played it during long car rides I've had my opponents guess several great heroes like, The Crimson Chin, Spiderman, The Iron Giant, Superman, Batman, Iron Man, Deadpool, The Mask, even Hercules one time I a lot of villains too I made my opponents guess Scar, Lors Farquaad, The Riddler, Green Goblin, Jafar, The Joker, Hopper, and plenty more my friends like it everyone ive introduced into has enjoyes playing it on long car rides

See I'm nine and very impatient
My kids loved the magnet idea.

thank you for sharing these activities. I've been always worried about our travel time hehe. --from Philippines :)
I used to do that with Nathan. Great ideas.
Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun! 😊
Hi Charlene do you have suggestions for a nine yr old?😊
Used cookie sheets for every road trip. We also used the magnets for bingo and tic tac toe.
My kids are 13 and 16 and the alphabet game is still one of our favorites.
That is awesome!! That’s great to know cookie sheets have worked well for other people too! And I’m glad to hear the alphabet game lives on 😁
How do I make sure the cookie sheet is magnetic? Is there a kid of metal that works best?
I think most of them are, but I think I double checked it with a magnet at the store!
@@AdventuresWithTheHills that’s what I ended up doing but a piece of me was trying to get around shopping in person for another thing BUT we got half sheets and magnetic cubes and they were great for the kids, thanks for the tip!
This would be ideal if I could reach all my children 🥲

Question, do the cookie sheets slide off laps?
Thanks! As far as I can remember, the cookie sheets haven’t slid off the kids laps. My son says they’ve wiggled around a bit sometimes, but not fallen off.
Wow such great ideas, Thank you
so good thank you!
I love these ideas! Would love to use them for our road trip this upcomming summer with our 3 kiddos!
Do you have any travel snack tips?
