@@vidc4313 I'm 27, my first console was a famicom. That was in 1997 I believe, but yeah I wasn't 4 for but 5-6 yo. Contra was my favorite game along with that penguin game (you know that one in which you race across Antarctica while catching fishes and avoiding seals and holes lol). Point is, most ppl of my generation beat those games at a really young age (I never beat Super Mario tho, that shit is hardcore).
This is true passion right here. They didn’t even go to crowdfunding platforms to gather the money and had to remortgage their own houses. Mad respect for the brothers!

Cuphead is proof that indie games are, more often than not, better than AAA games. The passion and love that goes into an indie game is very noticeable and I applaud Chad and Jared for their 7 years of work!
That's why I'm an indie gamer because the people who make games like super meat boy, little nightmares, or other indie games make the games a challenge and they're satisfying to complete the games

Jason Udosen how about the Mario and Zelda games. These games are also triple a, but they aren’t mediocre. To most people Mario and Zelda games are like masterpieces, especially Zelda OOT
Jason Udosen what about red dead redemption1 and 2, what about Grand Theft auto games? What about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Most AAA games are better than indies because they have a better budget, more employees, and while a lot of them may be money hungry, What would you expect? They are a multi million dollar corporation, running there studios, paying off ALL their employees and making Millions dollar games, There are few indie games that have dedication and most unfortunately go unoticed, I LOVE indie games(my favorite being Hollow Knight) so I know how you feel, but most AAA’s are better.
Edit: most of these games are critically acclaimed or even globally. Most indies are praised but very few, AAA games set the pathway for indies obviously.
I wonder if cuphead and mugman making a huge gamble is supposed to represent the brothers who made the game 🤔

Too bad these days they let technology dictate imagination, instead of imagination itself. First they look at technology and try to come up with something to do with it, instead of first imagining it and then look what is possible on technologic level. Not only in gaming, but in a lot of the "creative" jobs.

11/10 game of the year for me. its so hard to stop playing. took me 3 weeks to beat it. classic!
It took me six days to complete(achieve 100%) and three of those days were spent on Dr. Kahl.

I got a little emotional watching this for some reason. This game really got to me upon playing. I’m a passionate person and I love people who love things, and you can surely hear, see, and feel the love here. No denying the quality and level of fun in this game.

Purchased this masterpiece for my daughters... They told me to go to Hell and take this with me lol.. Now I'm playing it and they love to watch it to see the transformations but hate the difficulty.. My oldest said this is a game for people your age daddy. I just smiled and said true. They love it from the artistic standpoint to death.. But they won't play it lol.
Strange that they don't implement easy modes in many games.

@@grilledmoistpeepee6682 The thing is that this is one of the causes that stops players from going through games and let them (the games) rot until they are forgotten. statistics say that most gamers only play 30-50% of a game they buy. i don't think that this is what developers want.
People are individual. Some like challenges, some have very much time and some not and thats okay. Developers should respect that.
@@tiefensucht And most developers do, that's why most single player games are easy as fuck but sometimes players should also respect devs and allow them to create their vision the way they see fit.
Respect to these guys for a gamble they made! Cuphead is for sure a top 10 for my list for 2017.

I always felt bad for getting the game Cracked on my old barely running PC, so just before I finished the first world, I stopped because I knew in my inner self that this is wrong and is disrespectful for the game developers who gave everything they wanted to make this game, at the time I didn't have money to buy it and that PC died, and I only had a PS4, so i couldn't play it, I was crushed
But however i didn't surrender, here am I, around 2 years later filled with incredibly hard job, with a Nintendo Switch, and Cuphead! I dig this game daily - currently almost at the third world
I know too many won't care, but the message is just like what the developers message was,
"Don't let your dreams be dreams"

The fact that a game like Cuphead was made by people who Never made a game prior just goes to show that Anything is possible if you put in the effort and that's honestly amazing.
They sure got some balls to take on a project of this magnitude! Much respect and luck on their next project.

Plenty of people quit their jobs to pursue their dreams. It's rare to actually be able to see your vision come to life, and even rarer for your vision to be successful.
This was a genuine gamble. Things could have gone bad, like it does for most people who take such gambles.
yes, I'm making my game while I teach programming languages, at least I work in a related area, but I need to travel to another city and stays there 3 days a week, certainly this time could be applied to the game :/

They really worked hard at this game and it was worth the wait. But they had the guts to mortgage their house and quit their job! The brothers deserve great support!
Cuphead is one of those few very difficult games that manages to be really fun instead of incredibly frustrating. It's amazing that these guys were able to create such a fantastic product without industry experience or formal education.
How humble they are sayin its a baby step,and for 1st game they made,I dont know what suprise they will bring in the future

its almost unbelievable, this game is such a masterpiece made by essentially two people, with all that talent and ambition. so much respect.
I've only picked up this game recently, but I've been obsessed with it. It's truly a masterpiece. Every second playing it you feel that it's a labour of love. It's difficult, but the right kind of difficult, because with every death I just want to give it one. more. try. Halfway through playing it all on expert now, and I haven't really gone back to play a game on hardmode in ages.

I know it's seen as some cliche move, but a Cuphead 2 would honestly be the perfect next game. There's so much more potential to squeeze out of the ideas of Cuphead and fighting more bosses would only be more exciting.
Well at the end it says "And the brothers promised to never wander into trouble again. And they didn't -- until the next time of course! But that is another story..." So there might be a new one or DLC

It would be cool if they decided to have an update/dlc of cuphead that has the unused bosses into the actually game. Unused bosses are bosses like Betty Beet, Pachinko, Devil Bat, Spider, Old king dice game, etc
As someone who is a huge supporter of the Indie game genre and someone who has ideas and dreams of making an indie game these two really inspired me to go for it honestly

Mystery Meme Man eh sequel wouldn't be that hard if they reused enough assets.
I kinda like the idea of a sequel since i love the game as much as anyone else, but i also feel it would water down its uniqueness. Once sequels come out people start assuming, comparing, demanding and it just stops feeling like art. At least that's what i feel would happen. People would be like "Cuphead 2 sucks, the first one was better" "Why is there no this or that feature", and so on. I would be interested if a sequel was announced, but i wouldn't mind if Cuphead was just one of a kind. It has a shit ton of re playability anyways.

Cuphead was a very easy game to pull people in because everyone grew up on Disney 2-D animation and the charm is always heartwarming to people. What made them stay was the difficulty to beat the game and it payed off so well💪🏻❤️
Now imagine the same story, but with people who tried to do the same, investing all of their money, but their game failed, and now they are living on the streets, and you don't even know about it. That could've happened to these guys as well.

This game is a masterpiece. The music, the style, just amazing. Good job guys.
This interview was engaging and insightful. You can tell that they are genuinely proud of what they created, regardless of how tough the times got!
So it was all hand drawn/3D modeled in a traditional way and then the animations, cutscenes and backgrounds and all those assets were then scanned and coloured, and then it was all coded together. And then, all the sounds and songs were recorded in real life? KUDOS TO THESE GUYS.
Cuphead is so incredibly creative- it's absolutely astounding. I can't wait to see what these two could come up with next.
I want to see a series of Cuphead short films that goes on tour to concert theaters with a live orchestra plays the music - similar to silent films.

I'm so glad to see these guys do so well. THESE are the type of people and the type of story that should succeed and prosper. And it's so rare that it all pans out so well. The family aspect is great and inspiring.

Can we just appreciate the music for a second, don’t get me wrong the graphics are astounding. But music in a game is what a lot of people take for granted, if you listen to it trying to nitpick things out. It’s really an experience
When I first saw Cuphead I couldn't believe it was actually a game, fell in love immediately with the animation. But when I heard the music, OMG, I almost lost my mind with happiness, went to heaven, then to hell and back... what a crazy soundtrack.... I don't even have the game, but just watching a walkthrough is so damn entertaining.

One of the few titles in the last 10 or even 20 years that has love and compassion infused in to true creativity and motivation, This is a clear example of how gaming should be and I hope many future creators and developers take note of this beautiful game, Good job to the creators 3 years later!
This is why i love where video game are right now, where people who have nothing but passion, dedication and a good idea can sell and be competitive with AAA titles you can’t really say the same thing about movies or music (well maybe music I’m not to sure about that one lol)
These to brothers are honestly my idols drawing and making games is a passion to me and to see that they worked so hard and even took mortal age form their house is just crazy. They are the two brothers that gambled for money and made a bet but overcome the challenge that they faced. Just truly amazing

when it started 2010! and finished 2017! what a royal flush! new companies make bad games, but this new game company Studio MDHR really revived 1930s cartoons with this game. This is the best game ever!
