I just finished playing this game, and it's one of my favorites. It's amazing that the brothers remortgaged their home and worked so hard to get the game into the finished product that it is today. What an amazing success story

Here's an interesting fact. The singer for Die House, the theme that plays when you're in one of King Dice's Dice Houses, is actually sung by a woman.

5:43 I don't know why but I really like Goopy Le Grande's dizzy animation. His eyes spinning in opposite directions and his head, or "body" I guess, swaying side to side. It's very cartoony, simple & effective. Now every time I think of a cartoon character being dizzy or knocked out, this face comes to mind every time.

Very late to the party here but; Wallop can be used as a other word for drinking to much and passing out, or having a bad hangover. If something packs a punch, it has a very powerful effect. It's not the mandela effect.

Old cartoons and movies that were drawn on paper were the absolute BEST! It feels so different and looks a lot more polished if drawn because it catches people's eye more and had an actual ''style'' of art towards it. (At least for me) That's why Cuphead was such a good game to me. And the characters and sound effects just took it to the next level.

I just realised, when the Devil calls out 'snake eyes' then slams his hand down in the prologue, has anyone made the correlation between that moment in the prologue to that of the scene in The Nightmare Before Christmas when Oogie Boogie rolled 'snake eyes' then slammed his hand down (though in that scene he slammed his hand down to change the numbers from double 1 to the combined total of 11)?
In fact, that entire moment when the Devil offered Cuphead one more roll of the dice made me think about that scene in TNBC.

I'm pretty certain those dice were loaded and/or cursed. Why?
A) Instead of allowing the boys to roll the dice they usually rolled (white with black dots, I think. I may be wrong.), the devil held out very different dice.
B) The devil is kinda like the embodiement of evil, so cheating wouldn't be too out of place.

Grim matchstick’s name is a reference to animator Grim natwick (or however you spell it) and the studder at the end screen when you die you the dragon will have lines that studder, just like grim natwick
This should be in more of the Cuphead fun facts videos (I have only ever seen it in the comments), because I find it to be a cool fact, and some good trivia. It's pretty cool, in my opinion, that they not only took inspiration from the animation, but seemingly checked out the credits of the cartoons for inspiration as well.

I just recently realized that 'Grim Matchstick's name is probably a reference to Grim Natwick, an animator who helped Max Fleischer come up with a female counterpart to Bimbo since Natwick was one of the very few animators at the time who specialized in animating and drawing the female form. That female counterpart soon became Betty Boop.
I thought the dragon was one of the easier levels! The queen bee, carnival clown, and calamaria we're the hardest for me...
I thought the dragon was pretty easy too. The bee and the robot were the worst for me.

That’s the thing with Cuphead it’s got SO MUCH behind the scenes info that you instantly feel like your playing in an actual 1930s cartoon along side with 3 props for the background like Jimmy the great or Grim Matchstick
Something I love about cuphead is that although it’s a deathly hardcore game, it’s one of the few I’ve played that don’t try to be impossible. Also, I think I died about 200 times to dragon 🐉 dude

Super love this game! I haven't finished it yet but when it came out, I bought it right away because of the amount of work that was needed to produce this game. I'm a 90's kid so playing the game even if its really difficult was really nostalgic.

@@zylloz1830 I was born in the late 80's. And yes, it gives me nostalgia. When I was kid I used to watch 1930's Disney cartoon on TV. Bear in mind I don't live in the US. So the cartoons we were watching growing up were Betty Boop, Popeye, Mighty Mouse, Cookie Carnival, Felix the Cat to name a few.

Honestly Cuphead is probably the best game ive ever seen. The animation is beautiful. The music is so lovely and unique, especially the intro song with the quartet like sound. There are so many amazing cameos. The main plot line is so unique and its actually challenging. Increadible game. Absolutely love it!

Also, if you want to have a bit of an easier time with the Phantom Express, try using Roundabout, and chaser. Don’t forget P. Sugar. That will make it easier if you want to move the platform or parry the bricks.

The amount of references to video game, and old cartoons in this game is staggering.
This game has been a masterpiece and is loved to this day. I wish there was a second game of Cuphead. It would be TONS of work, but it would be just purely amazing. This could evolve the Cuphead series to a whole new level.

Ok but more than anything Rumor Honeybottoms feels like a shout out to Donkey Kong Country 2. The level design and even the scrolling and platforming mechanics are so similar to the bee levels and boss from that game.

Fact Checks, it wasn't called "Evil Mickey Attacks Japan" the actual title is "Omocha Bako Shirizu Dai San Wa: Ehon Senkyuhyakusanjuroku Nen", much like Turkish Star Wars, the bootleg title has become SO synonymous, that it's simply the official title for the movie now, also it was from 1934, WWII hadn't started yet, and Mega Man was the 80s, not 90s, and Kamahamayha is from Dragon Ball, not Street Fighter
