berty boomstick the worldwide oil market is absolutely gigantic so any percentage change represents a lot of oil entry. Further, the oil being extracted in the area this pipeline serves is not cheap if it’s the tar sands. In order for this area to be profitable, oil prices need to be north of $70/barrel (some say $65 if that represents cost how many companies will jump at the chance to sell product at a wash). Oil prices are volatile and recently went to negative values not that long ago. So, how much use would this pipeline get should oil prices drop? Hence, my surprise at it equating to much of anything. I’ve heard a saying related to Saudi Arabia and Texas about sticking a straw in the ground and getting oil. Now, keep in mind it’s been a few years since I’ve invested in oil companies but that implies comparatively cheap. Now, I may have heard a dirty, rotten rumor that pipelines need oil flowing through to reduce wear and tear. So, you potentially have a pipeline with non consistent use and increased wear and tear cost because anaerobic bacteria love the smell of metal at really any time of day and the volatility of the oil market limits use. And, all this for oil not directed into the US marketplace.

That's astute. There is a reason, however, that I suggest is borne out by history time and again. I think a majority of people delegate their thinking to others. Historically and anthropologically, this has created an affinity toward strong male psychopaths. Look at socialistic autocratic regimes, organized crime families, and the modern Republican Party for examples. In most cases, with a few exceptions (Mario Puzo's The Godfather, e.g.), they want those leaders to be dumber so they can feel smart by comparison, while the smart ones tend to be weeded out early as threats (which was a distinct plot conflict in The Godfather). The O.G. Republicans -- namely Lincoln, Grant, and Sherman -- were whip-smart. Read Grant's memoirs, Sherman's memoirs, and anything written by Lincoln (specifically the Second Inaugural ["With malice toward none and charity for all... do all which may achieve and cherish a just and last peace...] and the Gettysburg Address [which needs to be reread in light of the Ukraine war]) for proof of this. Putin, on the other hand, is probably not very smart, and Trump thinks he's a genius, which, by comparison, is probably accurate.

NYS has an estate tax for those over $10 million, and all of that first $10 million would be untouchable. The amount over that $10 million is taxed at 5 to 16 percent.
This in no way affects even a significant minority of New Yorkers. And this has little effect on the economy.
I don’t know what Republicans are talking about… They seem to be just trying to help out the richest amongst us, and no matter what, someone’s gonna have to fill in the gap for federal and state revenues made by the loss of the estate tax on rich people, and they most likely will have to turn to more taxes on the basic working man to make up the difference!

Whether you like David or not whenever he gives interviews he always allows his guests to express themselves and their ideas fully without interruption. He doesn't ever get into a shouting contest with guests or have people talking over each other. David wants these folks to express their ideas clearly and fully because it makes it that much easier for him to refute the crap out of it after they talk.

Is she really a politician? This is the 2nd united statian I hear wanting the keystone pipeline. They are convinced that it will reduce prices but it seems to me that it won't have a big effect. For one thing, who is going to pay for it and how much will the pipeline cost?
Over here in Canada, some are against it and some are in favor of it.
It seems to me that the simpler solution is to not sell minivans and gasguzzlers.

The takeway point is this: Let's avoid taxing over time. Any and everything else she is saying, I personally wouldn't bring into an intelligible debate.
