My dear quoted me 42k with tax, tag, doc fee, nitrogen, 2 year dent protection and "lifetime" power training warranty for GT PLUS GAS. Carmax which is usually expensive has it for 26k with 6k miles so probably worth 20k as a 2023 wholesale. That's without interest charge. Losing 20k or more is not happening for me
He didn't use the powershot. That gives you an extra 30 hp. You activate it while by pulling both shift paddles towards you at the same time, then it gives you 15 seconds of more power.
I got $8K in instant EV rebates, so that really helped. I understand muscle fans hate the direction Dodge is going, but we really like compact SUVs for our lifestyle, and I wanted the fastest one out there. It's fun to drive.
Most all Lexus easily last to 200,000+ miles while the Dodge Hornet's life expectancy is in the medium to poor range according to those that rate such things, The Hornet RT may be more fun to drive in its shorter life (better handling, etc). Dodge Hornet sales in 2023 was dismal (just barely over 9,000 sold in 2023) while about 25,000 Lexus NX 450's were sold. As others said the Hornet R/T is way over priced for what it is.
For a Plug in hybrid… it’s a good deal. Looking at one this week. Hopefully the dual mode suspension works good enough to provide a smooth gentle ride. And a firm
I bought a 23 GT plus a few months ago...was not on my radar but my niece bought one when they 1st came out and had had zero issues one year in and 23k miles. I drove her's on a recent trip home and was impressed. When my local dealer had big discounts on the hood i stopped in got 9.4 k off sticker which was just under 40k. With my equity on my trade, after 3 yrs of payments i'll have only pd 16k for it. Been great so far...had some warning lights go off and some random alarm trips here and there but a software update took care of it. Never ownded a car, and I've owned plenty including some exotics, that gets so many thumbs up in traffic or compliments in parking lots. People really seem to like them.

Plus they are buying my ‘22 Jeep Grand Cherokee lease out (which I have a year left on). I thought the payment was high, but not a completely horrible deal, until I saw yours lol. Edit: Actually got it down to $451.80. Everything same as above.
To all the people saying its "expensive/overpriced" its an Alfa Romeo just with some Dodge badging. Just go look up some interior pics of it and the body of it compared to this. They arent cheap dodge parts so they have to up the price.

No comparison as the Buick Envista is a 3 cylinder! The Dodge Hornet has Alfa Romero underpinnings! I own a 2014 Dodge Dart SXT & it has been a very good car! The Dodge Hornet is definitely OVERPRICED indeed! Inflation & this Administration's NEW GREEN DEAL has put the American Car Market in dire straights however! The good thing is line the Dodge Dart get ready Dodge fans to get a great selling price on a fast car soon! Now that's a good thing!
This guy presents in such an enthusiastic and optimistic way that it's hard to tell by the tone of his voice when he actually dislikes something. Just an observation. I'm thinking of getting the R/T Plus EAWD soon with sunroof.
It's nice. I don't know who will be lining up for this, but I'm sure they'll sell some of them. It had very sleek styling and the HP is there on paper. I'm glad they at least kept some combustion capability. At this point that's the best we can hope for from most companies. That same car with a 3.8 V6 and a little turbo or hybrid for boost with an 6 spd transmission would be more in-line with my taste. That would be a real 🇺🇸HORNET RT 🇺🇸.
Get a GT Hornet as a fast gas powered car & it's cheaper! I love my 2014 Dodge Dart SXT! There are going to be some sweet deals on these huge inventories of Hornets in the near future!

Raiti I noticed that you don't mention or go over any illuminated buttons for the power window and lock buttons. To me that's a big deal breaker if at night I cannot see those functions.
Stellantis has some nice European models like Peugeot, Citroen, and Opel. Why didn't they Neon-ize the Citroen C3-Aircross or the Peugeot 2008. I drove both of these cars when in France last year and they are impressive.

A couple things Joe missed is that he didn`t even use the sport mode while driving, nor did he pull both those paddles back at the same time to get a sweet 15 second power boost. Anyway, Mine is Optioned out and has everything. Blacked out all over and freaking gorgeous.
Hi Joe, you always zonk the fake air vents but could an air vent affect the aerodynamics negatively? Maybe it causes too much drag and instead of putting nothing there, they just put a fake one for looks. Just saying! Thanks for the review.
Rented one recently for a road trip. Terrible in almost everything. Loud, bumpy on interstate. If any1 has one, DO THIS, Turn radio volume about 1/2 way & roll windows down on hwy…. The speakers go bananas 🤣 . Fuel economy sux too.
The 5.7L V8 HEMI has 410 lb-ft of torque, which is more than the Hornet's 383 lb-ft. Still, for a small SUV, that's a torque monster, and I'm sure it feels great driving it!
I drove a Hornet R/T track pack as a demo for 5 months/9500km. This thing is a very serious performance machine when you want to surprise bimmer drivers and costs basically nothing to run when you don't push it. I changed the 20s for 18s for better track performance and my oh my what a difference! I sold it a few weeks ago and I actually miss driving it. It takes a few km to learn how to effectively exploit the performance. Use Supreme fuel, max regeneration works best in sport mode. I know it's a dodge but throw into a corner and... you get a serious handling machine. 2 complaints: Price, this thing does not sell in Canada at a MSRP just over 71k for the machine I was driving. Of it was a rwd biased awd like the Alfa Romeo Strelvio I would have taken an other one. Bottom line, it's perfect for a single dude that likes to save on gas and also loves to scare himself in corners. Price it a 45k CAD and I'll sell a dozen a month, for now it's just taking space in my inventory.

They are on pace to sell about 30,000 a year, which is far less than they wanted (they were looking to move around 90,000 a year). In my opinion, the problem is mostly perception. No one looking for a CR-V would ever think "let me go to a Dodge dealer". The people who do walk into a Dodge dealer, are not the target market for a CR-V competitor. That said; the vehicle is competitive, and if you stick with the standard gas model, it really stacks up well to a CR-V. I think the longer these are out, the more the word will get out on them.
While the budget Alfa isn't too bad I'm probably going new Mini Countryman JCW over this. I mean if they are "giving" them away with a big discount then you might be swayed but agree with you, for the price it is missing some key features that competitors in the price range and size would have.
Wrong Lexus is nowhere near as attractive or as exciting or as fun to drive as dodge Take an RX500h against a Durango rt or SRT and the Lexus would very quickly get destroyed
Actually based on days supply its the BMW x2 over 800 days supply currently.... Hornet is in the high 400's right now which is better than the 504 day supply it was I guess
Wow. I have A Lexus NX 450H and this isn’t even close. And it’s a Dodge so you know the quality is sub par. I would still have my 2016 NX didn’t get T boned. Had zero issues with it in 7 years. Just scheduled maintenance. Dodge…that would never happen.
I know exactly why the Sunroof hasn't been released it being reengineered the Renegade which the Hornet had major issues with the Sunroof and the the plastic guides were notorious for breaking causing the sunroof to become inoperable. But I have a feeling that the Hornet is just a stop gap measure until the new STLA Medium arrives, I do like the Hornet but it is a parts bin car to keep development costs down so why are they gouging the consumers, this shouldn't be no higher than $35k
I have a GT plus with a sunroof, the track pack which adds the 20's, dual mode suspension and Alcantara seats deletes the sunroof, although I believe you can option it back in. I thought the 20's gave it too harsh of a ride so stuck with the 18's on the backtop pkg.
@@MichaelSmith-kr9qw ummm....maybe it region related, no idea... but the 2024 GT Plus and RT Plus trim levels show the sunroof as standard equipment on the Dodge website. It is not available on the Base GT and RT level trim.....at least thats what I am seeing
Sunroof and not having a more aggressive back end with extended top spoiler in my opinion killed sales of the hornet .. price needed to be 4-5k less .. price is definitely in par with lexus nx lol

7:45 Actually since i own a 2021 charger RT, i was fairly certain i pushed around 400lb torque. Searched it up and it came out to 395lb torque.

Wow. I have A Lexus NX 450H and this isn’t even close. And it’s a Dodge so you know the quality is sub par. I would still have my 2016 NX didn’t get T boned. Had zero issues with it in 7 years. Just scheduled maintenance. Dodge…that would never happen.

I know exactly why the Sunroof hasn't been released it being reengineered the Renegade which the Hornet had major issues with the Sunroof and the the plastic guides were notorious for breaking causing the sunroof to become inoperable. But I have a feeling that the Hornet is just a stop gap measure until the new STLA Medium arrives, I do
like the Hornet but it is a parts bin car to keep development costs down so why are they gouging the consumers, this shouldn't be no higher than $35k
I have a GT plus with a sunroof, the track pack which adds the 20's, dual mode suspension and Alcantara seats deletes the sunroof, although I believe you can option it back in. I thought the 20's gave it too harsh of a ride so stuck with the 18's on the backtop pkg.

@@MichaelSmith-kr9qw ummm....maybe it region related, no idea... but the 2024 GT Plus and RT Plus trim levels show the sunroof as standard equipment on the Dodge website. It is not available on the Base GT and RT level trim.....at least thats what I am seeing
The GT PLUS gas I drove has a sunroof. Loved it. Resale socks. 2023 at Carmax with 6k is $26,000 retail so they probably paid 20k

I have one as a loaner while my wrangler gets an issue fixed and I honestly like the thing. It drives good and handles pretty good. But the price 😭
The price is simply ridiculous!
Sunroof and not having a more aggressive back end with extended top spoiler in my opinion killed sales of the hornet .. price needed to be 4-5k less .. price is definitely in par with lexus nx lol
