Stellantis should have brought over the compact Ram 🐏 Rampage truck to US shores rather than the Hornet which is literally the slowest selling vehicle on dealers lots nearly every month since launched here.

Right. I appreciate the car for what it is, not what he thinks it should or could have been. There's a segment for all kinds of buyers. I'm a fan of this vehicle.
Or.... I think branding a car with 270 horsepower in 2024 as muscle anything is just silly. I was expecting 330+ with the way it was described in the beginning. Sure, it's probably quick even with 270, but so is everything else with a turbo 4 in that segment.
Slightly off topic, but RAM should bring back the Dakota and Dodge revives the Journey or Nitro(?). The Dakota should compete against the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon, etc. In addition, they could make a smaller truck size to compete against the Maverick. The Journey or Nitro should be revived as crossovers (due to the popular SUV market), even though they aren't fondly remembered (due to reliability issues). Jeep should also bring back the Commander as a larger crossover.

Nissan does it with infinity. Vw does it with audi and Lamborghini. I could go on for days. Don't pretend somebody is resurrecting the rebadge concept from the dead.

I like the small screen, I prefer than those cars and trucks with oversized screens that I hate! If I want a touch screen I would bring my tablet. It’s a fast little suv. Period. The price is a little too much for this specific models. Either most like it or hate it!
I agree rebadging one car under different brands is stupid leave it as it is , it just say we think our customers are dumb and won’t notice the difference back in the 70s and 80s how ripped off did you feel to buy a Lincoln and it was the exact same car as a ford granda for a third of the price
In March of 2023 My 76 year old mother (God rest her soul)walked into a Stellantis dealer ALONE. I really wish she talked to me first, or took me with her. She went to buy a Hornet because she loved the way it looked. Ended up getting completely ripped off for a 2022 Cherokee KL “Demo”. My point, even the dealerships are steering people away of a sure sale of a Hornet but still screwing over easy targets.
Alpha Romeos don’t sell so you never see them on the road. Therefore, most people don’t see the similarities and make the connection. They just see it as a Dodge. Ultimately it just comes down to price. If it was cheaper people would buy it.
I'll get it, take off the new emblem and place a huge dodge ram emblem, plus an actual hornet under the dodge hornet...place that chrome where ever I can... Matte black candy paint to give that actual hornet texture...
the prob w dodge is they used to be muscle cars.. but the car market is declining.. so they are now making muscle SUVs.. which tehre are far better options
This car is cool as a value priced Alfa Romeo. I get why Dodge fans detest the Hornet as a replacement for V-8 muscle, but the whole car industry is a mess due to environmental regulations. Too bad Dodge is not selling the Hornet alongside ICE Chargers and Challengers, because then I think the reception would be more of interest and curiosity for anyone who might want a sporty, compact crossover.
I think the styling and price is a major part. It looks like blobby CUVs from the mid 2010s. Most compact CUVs are now more boxy and muscular looking. Which is much more appealing. Like the CRV and RAV4. The Hornet is just so blobby. Its a Dodge. That alone should mean it would go for the more sturdy, boxy look. Then the price...yeah thats a major factor. I think the poor sales throw a wrench in Stellantis desires to have cheaply done rebadges. They should have done what Kia and Hyundai do. But they went with cheaply done 90s/2000s GM rebadges instead.
I'm yet to ever see one on the road but if they did make one of these that did 0-60 in less then 5 seconds and had a better fit and finish with the wheels for 35k this thing would probly sell like crazy
The "Dodge" Hornet feels very reminiscent of the "Dodge" stealth in the 90's. Mitsubishi, and now Alpha Romeo's original designs are far more polished and cohesive than their rebadged Dodge cousins.
In Europe, these are cross shopped against MB GLAs, BMW X1s, and Audi Q3s as an Alfa Romeo. As a Dodge in the U.S., that was not going to happen. The price was wrong. Particularly when Stellantis brought so many over. This was just another bad read on the North American market. Stellantis leadership doesn’t have a strong plan to compete here.
I’m glad to see no warning lights. This is the first Hornet review where the car actually finished trouble free. Did they fix everything? If this thing can be reliable, and come down in price, it’s compelling. Dodge can be more than just big shouldered oil guzzling muscle cars for dudes with horseshoe mustaches.
I bought my 2025 Chevy Trax for 21,000 brand new with plastic still on the steering wheel. To say to me, that the hornet is worth twice the Trax or 1.5, I just don't see it 🤷 the Buick is the same argument. At which the Buick is argumentatively better than the Trax, I prefer the hatchback styling and the price. And get all the electronics I want with it, while paying for none that I don't care about
Alpha Romeos lack of sales has little to do with price, so these being a "bargain" by comparison means nothing. This thing could have been the greatest little crossover in little crossover history but the fact that Stellantis told everyone to kiss off there would never be another HEMI and then in the next breath introduced this thing doomed it to failure no matter how great it was. Then again I am sure little carlos knows exactly what he is doing and that 50% drop in share prices is an anomely. lol

I like the small screen, I prefer than those cars and trucks with oversized screens that I hate! If I want a touch screen I would bring my tablet. It’s a fast little suv. Period. The price is a little too much for this specific models. Either most like it or hate it!
Nice Alfa Romeo
CX-30 turbo vs Hornet gt would be a good comparison.
Lol. Alfa could only dream of Mazda levels of engineering quality.
If you buy a Hornet (at any price) over a CX-30, you need your head examined.
I agree rebadging one car under different brands is stupid leave it as it is , it just say we think our customers are dumb and won’t notice the difference back in the 70s and 80s how ripped off did you feel to buy a Lincoln and it was the exact same car as a ford granda for a third of the price
I like the name……I like the color…..And the best of all, that cool hornet emblem. Everything else is 💩
Starter: hey that wasn’t that bad.
Waldorf: your RIGHT! It was all bad!! 😂
I like the way it looks
Total miss with this vehicle. People wanted efficient, reliable and cheap in this class, not only fast.. That's why the RAV4 is the boss.
Reliable...forget about FCA.
More like Mud Dauber. No sting. Should have called it Volare but pronounce it Volar-ay.
This is the best vehicle ever. I can't believe they aren't flying off the lots at over MSRP!
The reason people buy crossovers is because they can’t afford a regular suv… nobody gonna buy a crossover for 35k-45k…research team did horrible.
They need to bring out a srt 4 model and then drop the price of the other models
Dudes knees are hitting the dash lmao😂
I'm yet to ever see one on the road but if they did make one of these that did 0-60 in less then 5 seconds and had a better fit and finish with the wheels for 35k this thing would probly sell like crazy
The worst selling vehicle in the United States.
THAT COLOR MAKES IT LOOK BLAND
The "Dodge" Hornet feels very reminiscent of the "Dodge" stealth in the 90's. Mitsubishi, and now Alpha Romeo's original designs are far more polished and cohesive than their rebadged Dodge cousins.
When did Lunchly start making cars? Wish they used Hornet Spray before production!
I’m seeing it for sale for around 25-35 that’s not a bad price
Unless you get the R/T trim level with the hybrid system the price is about in line with a top trim of the Escape, Equinox, Rav4, CRV, etc
The dodge hornet has a 428 day inventory supply. For the money I would get a a Turbo CX5 and have a car that is decently reliable
I'm with Roman on this one.
I've seen more hood types driving hellcats than anyone else.
The main issue is the price. The ones in my area for sale are 45k to 50k that is just too much for how big it is.
That would be an R/T at that price.
And get all the electronics I want with it, while paying for none that I don't care about
0:47 this should be a hot hatch and priced as such.
I agree, and should have called it Omni
Almost sounds like you guys are headed towards separate videos again for a while....
😂
To be nice, it will be OK-ish as a used car, once depreciation has taken the price down to where it should be.
The problem is reliability. Remember you tried to put the hornet in testing and the car bought down
They are charging Porsche Macan price. It's better to just go with a Macan over the Hornet. If it was $20k lower it would be worth it.
"A muscle crossover" Oh cool. "Just plug it in" I'm out.
Don't worry the price will drop soon, then it's a matter of reliability.
Then again I am sure little carlos knows exactly what he is doing and that 50% drop in share prices is an anomely. lol
