Totally agree $35K is right price. The ride was rough even in comfort mode, but the vehicle was peppy around town. Road sound was intrusive at all speeds and interior quality while good for a 35k vehicle had a lot of hard plastics for a 50k vehicle. PHEV is a great feature but the hybrid mode is only 29 combined MPG. Many ICE vehicles can do better and when compared to the 40mpg from the much cheaper hybrid CRV or Rav4 I am not sure an argument can be made for purchasing a Hornet at $50,000 or even at the same price as the Rav4. The Rav4 PHEV is almost as expensive as the hornet RT Plus but does everything better including zero to 60. The dodge websites lists the R/Ts mpgE as 77 combined. I am not sure what this means. I have been looking all over trying to get an exact idea as to what the vehicle actually gets when driving i. I just want lay mans terms, telling me an estimation of what this car gets in hybrid mode. It also states the information about the 30 minute full battery, and then also 360 mile range. A plug in hybrid, statistically after a short amount of time the majority of owners don’t plug them in, so they are driving around using only a gas engine carrying a unused electric motor and batteries getting worse gas mileage than they would if it was gas only. Toyota knows this, that’s why they are not plug in. Way to go Dodge.

Phev's are way better than full EV's...at least for me and the way I drive! Of course one thing people don't think about and I didn't when I got my cheap lease phev... insurance. Ours went up $1600 for 6 months going from a regular internal combustion engine car to a phev.
That’s crazy. When I leased my ‘24 R/T my insurance only went up about $7 a month. But my car payment went down about $15 a month so it was fine. For comparison I went from a ‘22 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude to the ‘24 Hornet R/T.
The steering wheel looks a lot like the Thrustmaster T248 Racing Wheel.
its ugly and expensive and not even luxurious interior its an absolute no !!!
They are going for 28k in Denton,Tx. In 2024
You are never getting another V8 Dodge. Cry about it.
Why buy this thing when you can get a NX, Evoque, GV70, RDX . This hornet is a very expensive wasp
I'll be keeping my Grand Cherokee SRT.
Dodge priced it right outta their target market. 🙄
Not sure if it's true but apparently the hornet doesn't offer white or q ball in 2024. Crazy
That is incorrect. As a matter fact those two colors do not have an up-charge.
@@danpizzi5857 the colors were made available after my comment.
So with an 11 gal tank, the 77 mpge isn't adding up to that... Id assume that meant 11*77, but I have no idea.
Someone help this guy out, I'm lost.
😨 *10:07** Dude, bro, sir, you have a Pixel 7 (I have a Pixel 7 Pro). You know better than to put your phone's bottom side down on a surface while its charging cable is plugged in. Especially when it's not a cheap phone. You'll just cause irreversible damage to your charge port and make it more loose. Take care of that good little Google product. I'll be watching.* 👀👀👀
Ppl will buy this even tho it sucks
Not for 50k 😅that package for 35k
Haha hahaha hahaha
Much, much too expensive.
Nice car but that price, yikes
better off leasing one...
You can get one new for 29k now 😮
Stellantis is trying the same failed thinking that Daimler and Fiat tried. Moving upscale doesn't seem to work for Dodge, shame they are starving Chrysler product.
Overpriced, BUT a very good looking vehicle. In fairness, I'd rather sleep with my sister than have a Dodge in the garage.
Reminds me of the Dart
its such a shame its ugly 🔥
The front seats suck. They are very narrow. It's like they only wanted to sell you 3/4 of the seat.
No ev's for me
I live in vancouver BC, population 5.3 million, no one bought it, never seen it on the streets, its far too over priced for a cheaply built dodge
But it’s not a Dodge platform car. It’s an Alfa Romeo.
CX5 thx tho
I was wondering why I never saw a Dodge Hornet on the road, now I know why.
Tell me more about the Tweezer on your radio! Just got back from Phish Mexico and I'm in the market for a new car. Is this a sign straight from the Helping Friendly Book?!?
1/2/2016! Great show, was on the floor for that one. As for the Hornet, well, if you thought tickets to Moon Palace were expensive...
Please do the dodge Durango SRT hellcat and Hennessy mammoth
Use a cross plane 4 cylinder and I might change my mind
Wait, is that an actual cigarette lighter? 10:03
Thank you for the detailed review ! Just ordered my Hornet RT with all 3 add-on packages ! I did test drive the GT at the dealership and it was really good handling, solid road feel and amazing visibility. BUT I didn't know if the wireless phone charger comes with the Tech package or something else. Can someone verify for me ? Thanks.
RT PLUS , Will come with a wireless phone charger
Why don't you chek it yourself? Reads like an add for the Hornet. Seriously.
@@racineurr.8924 Info was not available when I posted this. Finally got the details from my dealer and Dodge website. RT Plus trim has the wireless phone charger option BTW.
Omar. I'm looking at the exact same model. I couldn't tell if the RT requires premium fuel. Does it?
@@tlldrkhndy Hornet RT will run on regular but will give better power on premium.
But toyota’s prime hybrids are plug-in?
I was interested until i figured out the top acceleration numbers are only 15 seconds at a time.
The GT actually runs a 5.6 0-60. That's almost a second lower than Dodge claimed and had a top speed of 140mph. It's the faster vehicle and the better value of the two trim levels
The Dodge is Owned by Stellantis.
The Dodge Hornet is a Peugeot, which is a POS vehicle
Thought it was an Alpha Romeo Tonale. Peugeot doesn't build Tonale.
@@racineurr.8924 Oh I thought it was the other.
At any rate they’re a POS vehicle.
@@Doc1855 You're so right. Will you buy one?
@@racineurr.8924 🤣🤣🤣 Not in a Million Years !
In the 90s I owned 2 Chrysler products and I’ll Never Ever own one again.
@@Doc1855another misinformed fool. I’m glad you think this. Leave more on the dealer lot for
Those who want one and don’t want to fight to find one. 🤣. U can keep wasting your money on crap Japanese cars.
Dodge needs vehicle
Not with my money..50 plus grand.for the top model ..I hope all these car company's go the way of Disney.bankrupt..
Over $50,000 …. I am buying an Acura RDX
And what do you get ?
I hope someone pays 50k + for this, not to mention the markup that will come with it. This thing is literal garbage hahaha. 50 fucking thousand plus for this bullshit... LOOOOOOL
If you want horrible interior, yes..get that Acura RDX.

I understand that it's going against what Dodge stood for as a brand, but I like it. The power is pretty good, looks aren't bad either. Wonder if it'll be sold outside the US.
it is sold outside the US as an alpha romero. derp.
@@XxXDOMINIONXxX the Alfa Tonale is way more expensive. I want the Hornet to be sold outside the US.
@@thismanagain That is a good thought -- but IMHO, the Hornet is still too expensive and the Alpha is just well....ridiculous.
@@Mandolin1944 to be honest, most cars are way too overpriced these days. Even Chinese cars cost a lot now. But you're right, Dodge should've lowered the price a bit.
No one is gonna buy this thing.
Says ?
ok, grumpy.
A fucking hybrid rt the world I know is changed
i dont get it just give me the chargers n durangos
I agree too $$$
The leases are bad because it’s new I want one but the lease sucks too much money
Almost 2x as much, less hp less mpg then my eco mustang. No thanks
A junk foreign car built by Alfa Romeo with junk parts and plastic.
ok, karen!
