Heat Sink+ "I don't want to decrease the CPU counter by 7. I want to increase it by 7"
^ It doesn't reduce your maximum CPU, but the current counter based on your rolls on that turn. It's actually a super good equipment when upgraded coz it lets you redo your rolls, thereby increasing how many dice you roll, thereby scaling up equipment like Mechanical Arm. And I mean, of course it does this. That card is called Heat Sink.
Puts 2 in heat sink plus, Gets 7 more counter to get effectively utilize, profit
NL forgot to turn his luck cheat off,so he kept rolling 6s when it was the only roll he didn't want
If the 6 is the only thing you don't want, just use up everything else and put the 6 into Buster Sword if you get it. If you get anything else, you can still use it.
Game: "Ok, you can either deal 5 damage OR, roll for 67% chance of doing less than 5 damage".

Pretty funny that the equipment that was immediately discredited when he picked it up helped him the most in that final boss fight. Now imagine if he used it with Heat Sink!

NL, Heatsink decreases the COUNTER, not the LIMIT. Without the upgrade, it lets you "refund" an even die (counter went up 4 to give you a 4, now it goes back down 4). Upgrade, you are actually decreasing the counter with every die, letting you roll a (nearly) unlimited number of dice!
Combine that with Mechanical Arm, and suddenly you have an attack that can potentially do _unlimited_ damaged.

When you use the autoroll it rolls the needed dice to get you to jackpot, so when you're on 10 and jackpot is at 13 you will get a 3 when you hit autoroll
He played on stream and knew this previously, so idk man. It happens but it’s frustrating to see, especially when the auto rolled die would greatly improve his situation.
Watching this run right after watching Alpharad Plus's run really shows you how different two runs with the same character can be. Alpha and Jo used a bunch of cards to manipulate the counter and jackpot, like cheat code, increment, and fixed payout. They got jackpots super often. Meanwhile NL was more focused on rolling as many dice as possible since he was using cards like short circuit and mechanical arm.
Yeah why would you want to reduce the CPU counter by 7 and get a substantial amount of extra rolls

And before you juge remember he's talking and playing at the same time, it's horrible for short temr memory (as anyone who've seen enough streamer can attest).The way he was speaking it's clear he though that it would reduce the maximul counter by 7.

Hey NL, reducing CPU counter by 7 is actually nuts, it adds so much free damage cuz it guarantees at least one extra roll, synergizes well with short circuit and mechanical arm. Combine it with the other jackpot items and it's insane. It has saved me several times already :D
Short circuit+ is phenomenal NL. It's an almost always instant take

I can not wait for some more of this series! The Assassin’s episode was so good (ps the later episodes for that character are fantastic, ep2 is just plain fun and ep3 takes a lot of calculating/ forethought) and can’t wait for the misplays he’ll likely playing the inventor/ witch.

Before this started i got an ad for egglands best
NL - Heat sink is godlike. It reduces your total roll, not how much you can roll to. So if you roll a 6 on first turn, you drop it into heat sink to drop your counter to 0. So you get a credit for a roll and have more space to roll more since 6 was removed.
The heat sink is so good tho use a 2 to take away 7 to roll a 2 and a 5 and end up the same place

I think Short Circuit is a problematic upgrade because the upgrade removes the mechanism that made it interesting in the first place?
The entire game is about minimizing risk. Saying that removing the 4 roll mechanic from short circuit via and upgrade is like saying that turning a 5 into two sixes so you can always activate effects on your weapons is also problematic.
@@Norade Oh I totally getcha there, I was just saying that it makes the ability boring-er. Not as exciting from an "OMG are we gonna bust or not" standpoint. I like for things in games to not only be effective, but fun to use (sometimes the only thing you need to do to make something fun is add a cool sound effect).

Remarkable. This game was inspired by Enter the Gungeon, in that it makes The Robot the most challenging character!
The Robot is my spirit animal, because I also tend not to do many actions after busting
I thought that by watching the twitch vod of the robot run and then this one, he would get better with the character. Silly me.
The heatsink fuck up angered me enough to make me buy the game and do it right. Never change egg. We love you

Lucky shot is the better option. Even with the extra roll bonus to the mechanical arm, you still have to do 4 damage with a single random die to match lucky shot. That means it's 2/6 to do better, 3/6 to do worse, and 1/6 to break even.
You traded 3 dmg (roll of 2 + 1 for the mechanical arm) for the safe 5 dmg of the lucky shot.

Healing Crystal upgrade is extremely good, just for the increase in pip cap. It's especially good for the Robot who doesn't have a lot of 4-pip options (average Mech Arm value, and not much else). The poison mitigation is just a nice bonus.
Also, Heat Sink is amazing, but it really helps if you use it

Ultima Weapon or BUST! (literally)
@Northernlion AutoRoll will automatically give you dice values equal to the number needed to hit jackpot. This means if you havent rolled and you have CPU 11, You may get a 6 and a 5, or 4 or 5 low-value dice, or just any combination that equals 11. It also works this way if you have already calculated, so that you can calc once and check to see if you want to Autoroll or just calc manually.
I can't wait until you discover how delicious jackpot meta can be.
I cannot get enough of this series. Sometimes I’ll buy a game cuz Egg is so bad at it that I buy it just to prove I’m right, but I bought this one cuz it just looked so fun. This series better get the slay the spire treatment; play through all the episodes for all characters please egg father.

This game is amazing
for those wondering, the odds of getting 4 dice whose values add up to less than or equal 11 is around 23%.
You'd have to take into account the odds of you getting exactly 11 with just 3 dice and using jackpot to get the fourth, which is 12.5%
Short Circuit has a 35.5% chance of working at any given turn.
Am I the only one who hated his upgrade choice? Like, a lot?
But Streets of Rogue plus this is an ACTUAL banger lineup, Egg. A+++ content.

NL Heatsink is so good! That upgraded version would make it for your counter goes down and you can roll more dice! Lowering it by 7 makes it for you can roll another dice no matter what

Forehead reducing the counter allows you to roll more dice. An "even" can make you 2-3 extra dice by reducing the counter

Cool video NL! Just wanted to say that the average roll on a die is 3.5, so in a lot of cases it's significantly better to take the guaranteed 5 damage from Lucky Shot, instead of rolling another die, when you're just going to put that extra die into Buster Sword anyway. Obviously sometimes you want the extra roll to activate other equipment, but in a lot of combats this video that wasn't the case, and you just random rolled 4 or less damage instead of taking the guaranteed 5.
Every time this man chooses roll a dice instead of deal 5 damage so he can get one more damage out of mechanical arm makes me want to die.
Hey NL, you seem to be undervaluing Heat Sink. One way to think of it is as a reroll of any even die you don't want, plus adding an extra roll to your Mechanical Arm.

Situation taking 5 raw damage is 5 (Jackpot raw) +5(mechanical arm) +5 (Buster S) +3 (Short circuit) = 18
Situation "One more Roll" is Rolled Dice X (Dice for an open slot) +6 (Mech arm) +5 (Open slot) +3 (open slot) = 14+X
So 1, 2, 3 is worse. 4 breaks even. 5 and 6 increase damage. I'd really hesitate to call "One more roll" the better option.
