- Spoiler alert, we didn't have our baby in Ikea but we did have a lot of fun walking around the store, looking for more nursery things we needed and eating meatballs! We put our Ikea finds together and then chatted a little bit about the rest of the night and our plans for trying to get the ball rolling and help this little babe along. We're hoping we'll see him soon! We hope you had fun hanging out with us today! Thank you for watching and we'll see you tomorrow with a new vid, or maybe we wont.. we'll see! Just an idea- my two boys were the same years apart as yours will be. Get something special for Jackson to play with that only comes out when you are nursing. There will probably be feelings of jealousy as he gets accustomed to the new baby, and having a special toy to keep him busy will help when you’re involved those beginning days and weeks.
My son was born on March 1st many years ago. These videos make me think of those days. I spent my 3 weeks maternity leave playing super Mario all day. Water broke on 2/28 as I was headed to bed and he was born at 8:00 the next morning. It wasn’t a gush but a trickle I couldn’t control. Contractions started right away and there was no question that’s what they were. Thanks for the memories

Jackson has a new game idea for ikea!! They should have an app that the kids can play on while the parents shop and when you “collect” the arrows it makes a noise and you get points, the points can be collected towards future discounts!! 💡

You folks were talking about getting Jackson his own Lego table…when I was little, my dad made me a table with a lift-off top that stored all my loose Legos in the bottom. I loved it, and I’m sure my parents appreciated not stepping on any Legos! I’m sure you can get similar pre-made tables today. Might be a good way to keep all his Legos together while also giving him his own space. 😊
Congrats! We unfortunately are a one and done… we had 4 embryos, 3 did not take but we have a miracle 4.5 year old. ❤

The Lego table is easy to make! We got an IKEA Lack side table and glued down a Lego plate to the top. They have a bin on wheels in the kids area that slides underneath and my daughter put all her Legos inside that bin. It worked GREAT!

Yes, lots of snow in Southern California…drove home to Nevada through the Cajon pass. So much snow…more than I’ve ever seen there. Absolutely beautiful. The Weather Channel said they got 68 inches and more to come this week. ❄️❄️❄️
IKEA is like the furniture amusement park! I love going there even when I don't need to get anything. There is just something so great about it. Also, you can never leave without getting some meatballs!

Regarding the Lego piece, try turning it around. It’s a window that opens from either the top or bottom not from the sides! Great video and loving the home vlogs ❤
The window goes the other direction! Those little nubs on the window go at the top or bottom of the frame, not the side!
The Doctor basically comes in at the end of labor to "catch" the baby. The nurses are there for the biggest part of it. My doctor was out of town when I went into labor so her partner delivered my daughter. Everyone is different but it didn't bother me at all.
Flip the window 90 degrees. It opens from the bottom, not the side.

That Lego window glass piece goes vertically. Lego don’t do windows which open horizontally. They usually just click in. The larger ones fit vertically so the window opens up and down. Just like the in the ikea set.

In Woodbridge, Virginia, their IKEA used to have animatronics way back in the day singing about how great IKEA furniture is.
It was like IKEA's version of Walt Disney World, minus the rides.
I love shopping 🛍️ at IKEA I got my bed 🛌 from there. Love how Tim said if your water breaks it would be a fun and exciting way to give birth like an escape room lol 😂
I would never wait. My son didn’t flip into position until last minute. Everyday I was growing. I gave birth to a 10 bouncing baby boy. Naturally no help. Now he’s 30 years old 6’ 6” , 260lbs. PS I was sitting rocking in a chair rocking, and I felt him flip upside down and get into position. I named him Jake. Big Jake so fitting now. He’s so kind and sweet. I wish you all the Blessings in the world.❤❤🤓
The whole Ikea thing made me laugh so hard. I went once to my local store to get table legs for my boyfriend and I've never gone back. It frightens me. But I think I need to go with no plan. Wishing you all the very best with the labor and delivery!

The snow this past weekend in SoCal was wild. I'm in south Orange County and to be able to go out my front door and see snow (for 15 minutes before it melted 😢) instead of driving 2-6 hours to the snow was a true highlight haha. I've grown up here and there's never been a winter this wet. As someone who loves rainy, cold weather, I am thriving hahaa. (fire season's gonna be greeaattttt 😰)
Also loved the mini history lesson on cowlicks 😂. And I've worked with a few parents on helping their oldest adjust to changes in the home and practicing your own calming skills with the child so they learn by watching you do it for yourself can be helpful sometimes (and it can help calm you down during tough parent moments). So singing a song, doing deep breathing with Jackson (sometimes it'll help for the littler kids to take deep breaths and puff the cheeks out like a baby monkey) or imaginative silly counting (e.g., "I see 1 yellow rabbit, 2 purple clouds, etc."). I'm sure you guys already do something like this with Jackson, but I thought I'd suggest it in the hopes it would help. Love you guys and sending early congrats and best wishes with the new baby! 💙💛

I did curb walking and the next day, I went into labor!! I truly believe it helped!!
For the LEGO window: did you try to put it in on the top instead of the side? I have a few sets where the glass piece clicks into place at the top, so it's like a window that flips up, if that makes sense. So the two corners of the glass piece will be in the top left and right corners of the window frame piece.

When our younger kids were born we put a gift for each of the older kids in the area under the baby’s hospital bassinet and said that the new baby brought them gifts. That helped a bit with the jealousy of visitors bringing gifts for the new baby because they each had something new. Now when I go to a baby shower for a family that already has kids I bring a small “sibling gift” in its own bag like bubbles, a coloring book, etc.

My son was 4 when I was expecting my 2nd. He was very sad. I looked out the back window and saw him sitting in the middle of the yard all alone. It broke my heart. I started involving him in things like helping me with getting things out of the diaper bag, and feeding him. It passed pretty quick, and he started loving his brother. Jackson will adjust fine. Just give him some extra love. I know you have been. You two are wonderful parents and I am sure baby toenail is just as excited to meet his family. Love to you all!

It is so weird, I found this channel when I was trying to find someone covering the Universal Orlando parks, in anticipation of our family trip several years ago, and here I am, eagerly anticipating the arrival of baby number two.

My mom went into labor with me while she was on her hands and knees scrubbing the kitchen floor. I'm so excited for you guys. I watched Jackson's delivery and it was the most beautiful video I've seen. My heart goes out to you both.
In ikea Spain you can get a single kitchen cabinet. My parents bought one and, with a little DIY craftsmanship, my dad decorated it and turned it into a closet for my daughters to store their doll’s clothes. He added some bed legs to lift it up, a little rack inside to hand the doll size hangers and a shelf with little boxes to organize accessories. He decorated it with contact paper/wall paper.
Okay, Jen....this is not a fun thing to do, but several "old wives" have told me through the years, to get on your hands and knees and scrub the kitchen floor, and that will bring on labor. Not having been pregnant myself, I don't. Know that it always works, but three of my friends have tried it and gone into labor within 12 hours of finishing. It is a not so great thing to do, but it is a suggestion. I have also heard that hot foods, like peppers, etc, can bring it on. Maybe try some Nashville Hot Chicken.....that is a far more fun option than the scrubbing....I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Wish I could wave a magic wand and bring on labor so that sweet little guy could be here soon...hugs from NC

I think you will have baby this Thursday! Also that bit about going into labor while relaxed… so untrue lol I woke up was throwing up for an hour then my water broke in the shower as I was trying to feel better. It will happen when it happens, and it’s so much better going naturally than getting induced. I was induced with my first and had a 12 hour labor. With my second I went into labor at work and was just going through the motions not knowing until it was unbearable and had to go in… I was 6 cm. Lol 😂 then with my 3rd and only time my water broke, I went into labor around 11 am and had literally NO contractions or any signs just my water broke, had him at 6:30 that night! Alllll the labor vibes Jen, you got this!!! ❤

I definitely recommend getting a Lego table - my 12 year old still uses his every day and we’ve had it since he was about 2 or 3. It was actually a train table to begin with and the legos took over lol. So a Lego top isn’t necessary - just a dedicated space at kid height. 😊❤️

Baby T does not wanna come out… he feels so warm, safe and cozy where he is! 😅. I live in So. Ca, and yes, we are living in blizzard-like conditions… our mountains are out of gas and businesses have shut down, roads are closed, people are stuck, homes are falling into rivers and sliding down hills. What a mess! 😮
I just watched the birth of Jackson over again and I cried as much as the first time! Can’t wait for the next little babe!❤ What a beautiful miracle.
I fell asleep during labor with my second child. I woke up once to my water breaking. Then fell asleep again. The next time I woke up, she was crowning. The body knows what it's doing the second time around and it goes much quicker. Also, labor meds made me sleepy and in had a epidural. Happy birthing Jen!!
The mountains down here in LA are so beautiful and majestic after the storms. It takes ones breath away. When you come back to Disneyland, take a drive up to Burbank to visit the biggest IKEA in the US.
