- The secret to packing light is all about packing the RIGHT things. So in today’s video I’m revealing my all-star minimalist travel essentials and packing favorites that I use to pack light and stay organized. These are the essentials that come with me every time I travel, whether I am going to be gone for three days or over a month. 🧳

Packing cube(s), my Kindle, my charger and phone, toothbrush/paste, hairbrush, underwear, shirt(s), pyjama - i think thats what i pack for every trip

Electronic reader. Although I love the feel of a book, when traveling I can download multiple books and the sleek & slender look of an e-reader makes it easy to carry in my bag. No bulk!
I've never travelled on a plane so I can only talk about my essentials for car/bus/train travel. I always bring my laptop and it's charger, I don't usually go anywhere without it. I also always bring my Airpod Pros, which I TOTALLY recommend, they are amazing and one of the best things I have ever purchased in my life, no joke. Other things are the usual clothes, toiletries, phone and charger, I also bring a portable charger for charging things on the go. As for when my period is due on a trip I always bring my menstrual cup and a few pairs of period underwear.
Medications, passport, chargers, tea, cash, gum, laundry bag, headphones, iPad, Fanny pack, kindle, sunscreen, inflatable neck pillow.
1. I create a packing list ahead of time so I'm sure not to forget anything.
2. I bring 2 large sized Ziploc for trips when I might need to carry a wet bathing suit. Or bring along a change of undies/clothing on a day trip elsewhere. A pint size one is helpful to put your phone in - especially if your headed to a water park.
3. I always have a prepacked makeup/toiletries kit with brushes and curling iron so I don't forget a thing. Refillable bottles or sample sizes are kept in it.
4. If you like perfume buy your favorite in travel size to bring. You may need a spritz before heading to dinner after a long day of exploring. And baby wipes are helpful too if you don't have the ability to shower.
5. Travelling outside of the USA? You will need a plug adapter. Their current is different.

I'm usually solo traveling and staying in hostels here in Europe, so I always always bring 1. A Padlock for the hostel lockers 2. Earplugs! You never know if you'll have a snorer in your room or a church bell ringing all night long right outside the window (really happened haha) 3. Turkish Towel for the beach, picnics, after a shower or even a blanket!

I love my little packing pouches too! I like to bring a pack of baby wipes for a quick freshen up as needed. I always have a small notebook or journal and a pen handy as well 😊
I’m Karen and I always bring my magnifying mirror so I can apply makeup in any lighting . I love to bring a roll of paper towels whenever I can too … it gives me quick access to cleanliness . Also live a little jewelry organizer to keep tiny jewelry items safe and easy to find .❤love this video!
I have the same razor! but I actually carry it in a shallow travel soap dish, along with a small bar of soap and usually some dry makeup remover cloths. Same size as the Venus case, but holds more items I’ll use in the shower! …. I used to carry a paperwhite-style Kindle, but the high altitude of an international flight fried it (common complaint apparently 😭) so now I tend to pack a couple of lightweight books instead 🤷🏼♀️
You can fit more liquids in bag if you lay them down horizontally rather than vertically like most people do. Just put plastic wrap over bottle hole before securing lid, and even tape over top for extra security.
I never leave my city without my power bank. Even if I'm gone for one night, I like to have it on me. 😊 This was a great list! I love the bigger backpack, it looks very functional and compact for what it can hold.

A nylon fold up laundry bag
A sturdy 311 plastic liquids bag like yours
A black pashmina that can be used as a blanket, shawl, or folded up and used as a pillow

It’s been such a long time since I’ve traveled overseas or even nationally via plane but when I do I’ll come back to your video for more ideas! The last time I did travel we drove so it was easier to bring a bit more that we needed.

My list is almost same as yours, and probably a few more things like tide pen, hand sanitizer, I keep my hand cream handy too, may be some band aids and also a hair tie/claw clip. Oh and also a nail filer ( the one allowed in cabin)

Just got a foot sling for an international flight and it took so much pressure off my back! Not really necessary for short flights but I highly recommend for a long one. I just tried to be considerate of the person in front of me by not moving around too much, but it seemed to barely move their seat.
Also beware in some airports like CDG in Paris they make you put liquids in an actual quart sized plastic bag which will fit a bit less than one of those bags. So just make sure to check!

Clients fly me to their city a lot. Bose QC Earbuds 2 is essential. It's the best with noice cancelling - and I've tried them all. I'd also add an iPad Mini as essential. It replaces a laptop and is wonderful for content consumption especially during a flight.
Love your videos! In answer to your question, I always travel with a baby washcloth. Outside of North America you rarely are provided a face cloth. The baby ones are thin and dry quickly. Also, I keep Sea Bands for motion sickness. I tend to lend them often to fellow travelers who feel queezy. The 3rd essential is ear plugs. Too often we're in a noisy area or have snoring roommates.

❤ Great video Ashlynne. I'm working on decluttering our home. I am a full time stay at home Mom, and I love it. But I've noticed lately that all the clutter is stressing me out. My biggest problem is getting rid of clothes, i could use any tips you have to make this process easier. I also wish i could pack this ligh for a trip, we went to Colorado last year, we drove from Pennsylvania to Breckenridge my husband was going crazy cause i took 3 bags of stuff for a week long trip. So thank you in advance for the tips in this video. Maybe i can pack lighter for our next trip.
We just did a 6 day trip. We wore one set of clothes and took 2 extra bottoms and a pair of shorts, and 3 addtl tops. Then on the night of day 3, I changed into shorts and did our laundry. Packing mix and match items really helps so you can take the same bottoms but March with a different top after laundering.

Airfly is amazing a must have for flying, just remember to charge it!

I pack “the pink stuff” fake sugar when I go on a cruise because sometimes room service forgets to put it on the tray or they run out and only have the yellow stuff or the blue stuff fake sugar which I don’t like.
I have that larger black backpack (and one in the light beige color). Love them, so much!! 😊

We just returned from Italy. They did not have the headphones due to not having time to restock the plane. This is where having the airfly was a life saver. 😊

As a grad student I need to pack my laptop wherever I go. The problem I have run into is that my laptop is very large. Probably the largest they make and I have yet to find a case or backpack that will fit it. It’s been very frustrating. Any ideas?
Once as a teenager I forgot my bathing suit! So I had to buy one there which was fine but I just dont know what I was thinking :D

The period cup needs to be in a cover or small ziplock before placing in your makeup bag, it’s just more sanitary that way.

I love the liquids bag, but please be aware that some countries authorities (hello, Britain!) will still insist on an actual Ziplock style one quart bag, which definitely holds less.
Absolutely. Those so called ‘TSA approved’ bags sold on Amazon aren’t approved by TSA or any other country’s airport security organisation. They generally hold more than double the allowed volume.
What is the name of your backpacks? The big and the small?
Shampoo soap bars toothpaste powder that s what use now with minimal makeup. From uk at adetriment as 3 pin heavy plugs etc weigh too much plus have to take big supply of meds. Am still taking 1 30 l carry on bpack and a 0.5 kg weightless bag never checking in or even into a bus hold. Unsure if can carry much as asthmatic but only jybrid have seen are in blue or black and want a distinctive pattern so noone can walk off withmy bag ever again. Please could you tell me weight of your filled bpack inc laptop
