Hi everyone! I'm so glad you're enjoying this video! The brand of the backpack is Day Owl - it was gifted for a previous collab but I use it ALL THE TIME and really love You can find it here: www.dayowl.com/collections/the-backpack I hope this helps!
Thanks kindly for pointing to your Power of My People shirt. I've been looking for a great button-down shirt for the longest time (including a recent trip through Italy, Spain and Portugal) and it turns out that the PomP shirts are made in my backyard! Well, B.C. anyway.
I like everything but what about underwear? Is that one sports bra and one short is the only underwear you brought? What about panties? Do you not wear panties? I live in a hot climate and I change my underwear at least 2 times a day. Wearing a pantie whole day disgust me
@@AlyssaBeltempo I agree, the "avoid black to a wedding" rule is more like don't look like you're going to funerals. Your corset top was perfect to add a "having fun" vibe to your look and avoid the "I'm mourning my friend who is getting married" kind of look. Also, to get a more formal vibe to your T-shirt on a long sleeved sweater, you could put on your sun glasses or knot the t-shirt. Or both.
Black to a wedding is probably a bit outdated, but it comes down to your hosts, if they're fine with it then no problem! I have worn black to a wedding, a black dress with a beautiful flower print placed to one side - my shoes picked out one of the colours. I've also seen many people wear black, and I agree as long as it's not funereal, it's okay - yours was great and definitely not an outfit for that other big life event.
If I got on a plane to get to your wedding and you're upset about my wearing black , rather than happy about the fact that I made it there, no matter what I'm wearing, you're no longer my friend! What if the airlines had lost my luggage, am I then uninvited to the wedding?
@@ms-lc1gr I'd say it'd be (older?) guests, who'd point it out (not necessarily in a horrible way, but more as a heads up) rather than the couple themselves - the bride and groom are probably so caught up in the moment it wouldn't have registered. But yes, I'd agree with you that it shouldn't be something to be upset about - it's just one of those etiquette rules that most people know about (in the UK) and are surprised when it's broken, precisely because most people know about it, even if they don't follow that rule.
O. M. G. !!!!! You are a freaking MAESTRO!!! This is genius and inspiring. Can you do more capsule wardrobe episodes??? Maybe some for every day outfits? I need this so much. Love you and your whole manner, Alyssa. ❤
FYI, a classic way to add a pop of color while packing light is bringing a bold red lipstick! I really loved the white button-up OVER the black top and how it was styled partially buttoned/tucked! Another pairing that would have been cool is the white button down layered under the bustier! I like how these outfits use playing with contrast as a way to make for the lack of color! On that note, perhaps playing with mixing the gold tone jewelry with some silver tone jewelry could be a another good way to bring in some contrast and variation.
I live in a temperate climate. When you put the trench coat on over the cozy blazer you blew my mind. I always wear one or the other and then pack one in my luggage. It had never occurred to me to wear them together to get thru the airport. In fact, I actually paused the video, got up and tried several blazers on under my trench. Amazing! I always assumed the sleeves of the trench were too narrow, but even some of my oversized blazers fit. Thanks!
After watching this video I went to a 3-day trip with my 3 children aged 4 to 9 and packed their clothes in their small (or tiny) packbags which they could carry by themselves. I only had to carry one bag myself!
You should absolutely be proud of this accomplishment! Packing in a backpack for 5 days is an accomplishment in itself, but to pack for different climates is INSANE! Well done!
Alyssa, your style and slow fashion approach, along with your capsule travel wardrobes have been inspired me to change my approach to shopping, both in sustainability and stylistic choices. It enabled me to pack, for the very first time, for a 2 week Europe trip with only a small carryon. Needless to say, my husband and friends were impressed and I even surprised myself with how little I really needed and the versatility of the right pieces!
I wish I could do that, but I sweat, so I can't wear things twice! Sometimes not even the sweater! But still good to see that it's doable with some pre thinking
Alyssa, Your travel capsule videos are amazing! It’s literally impossible for you to make too many. I have learned so much about garment care, fabrics, outfit balance, style, as well as taking time to make thoughtful, sustainable purchases.
I love your necklaces in this video. Would love to see more of your jewelry collection and tips on what a good basic jewelry collection includes. Thank you!
This has come just in time for me because I'm flying from Portugal to Switzerland in 3 days time for a 5 day trip. So thanks for these very helpful tips 😁
Again!!! I love your style! I’m not your age and my life situation is so different, but your tips and twists are just so useable and refreshing! Thank you so much!!! ❤
As someone who is trying to reform their overpacking ways, I loved this video! It was very inspiring how, with so few pieces, you managed to create classic outfits for every occasion and weather condition. You have every right to be impressed with yourself! 🙌🙌😊
Loved your outfits from such a small amount of clothes. You have inspired me for my long weekend trip to York on Friday! I've been to 2 weddings in Tunbridge Wells and I thought your outfit was stylish and classy, the camel blazer lifted the chic black outfit underneath.
Very creative! If my count was correct, you actually wore or carried half of the 10 pieces. Lol. I never would be able to limit myself to that for 5 days. Then again, I am not a minimalist dresser. You rocked this challenge!
Hi Alyssa! Your creativity and consistency in delivering fantastic content week on week is truely admirable. So grateful to have found your channel last year and have been appreciating your content ever since! You are truely an inspiration . Lots of love all the way from South Africa! Hopefully one day, your travels bring you here to experience the diverse, bold and colourful fashion scene we have here.
I’m Impressed that the jeans held up so well for almost entire trip. If you carried on the coat and jacket and layered clothing that explains how everything fit in bag.
Love this. I also have a vintage London Fog that belonged to a loved one who passed away a few years ago. I am super impressed you fit all that stuff into that backpack!
You are incredible to go to a wedding and spend 5 days in London with only one backpack. I got to learn a lot from you about packing for traveling as it is a total nightmare for me. The airbnb looked very nice. Thank you.
Great video! I'm always trying to scale down when traveling. I appreciated you showing your backpack and toiletries case. Toiletries and shoes take up a lot of suitcase space.
This is great as I'm about to go on a Vespa journey around Tasmania for my 40th so I need to embrace the tiny backpack living with enhanced wardrobe options. Thanks Bella!!
It’s so freeing to travel light, and as you’ve proven here, totally possible to be stylish while doing so. One bagging is my favorite way to travel, and I loved your examples. Kudos!
Gotta love the bustier! The shirt looked pretty chic as well, but the bustier really took the outfit to another level. I loved the jumper with the trousers. And the shirt underneath, chef's kiss for that one. Thank you for another fun video!
this is a really interesting video, thank you so much, being able to see each simple change that gives such a different vibe to every article of your costume was fascinating.. your selection and your one bag pack is genius.. certainly not taking heels makes it doable, wearing sneakers and just one pair of flats is an eye opener for me
Love this video! Great inspiration to travel light. In June 2023 I toured London and Lancashire for 2 weeks. I love your sweater, blazer & trench items -- that is really all you need! I packed a couple of bulky sweaters -- which I did not end up needing at all.
I was in London recently too, but for my aunt's funeral. We wear white to funerals, so I took a long, flowy off white linen skirt, a thin off white cashmere sweater, a short, tailored black wool jacket, and tall black boots. Also brought a pair of jeans, a merino base, and a wool sweater. Everything did double duty! Smart to take vitamins to prevent from getting a cold, I also too C and zinc. Back in Toronto, glad about no check in luggage!
Thanks for sharing! I want to pack light for a trip to Japan at the end of the year and this has been really helpful. Love how classic and effortless your style is
Just came across this video! Amazing! Please share where your black, elasticized waist, wide leg dress pants are from. Please! They are exactly what I’m looking for!
This is spectacular!! Thank you 🙏 ❤❤I’m trying to travel lighter each time I fly, and you proving I can have varied outfits with just 10 items?!! Game changer. Your taste is so elegant, classy, and timeless-proving to me that I too can pack like this for my next trip to Europe 🤍🤍
Very impressive! I went to Morocco for 2 weeks with a small backpack and a very limited but colourful wardrobe. I loved it and now I really try to travel with less. It is so liberating 😊. Well done Alyssa! ❤❤❤
There is so much good content in this video! I feel you on wishing for more color!! That’s my main concern with capsule wardrobes in general. But you totally made this work with the tiny amount of space you had!
I love this! I absolutely hate checking luggage in. That’s HOURS of my life I’m never getting back, waiting for luggage to eventually come out. Whenever I’ve travelled overseas I’ve only done carry on. There’s nothing worse that dragging around suitcases full of stuff that you realise when you get home that you didn’t even use! Just find a washing machine. Walk off that plane and you’re out of the airport. Love it. Greetings from Australia.👍🏻❤️
Brilliant ideas, I’m proud of you having managed such stylish outfits from just a few pieces you brought with you. There is definitely something to learn from this…! Thank you 😊
You are awesome! This is such a precious learning video for me because I will have a short trip to London soon, and you are sharing this fantastic example of packing light in a carry-on backpack - it is so practical and smart! Molto grazie, Alyssa 😀
This is awesome and perfect timing! I’m traveling to Crete this winter and want to take a carry on. Lol-I’m figuring out what to take now. Love how you pair white shoes with everything.. was going to take black boots, but cream-colored boots would work too. mmm…now I need to rethink…. Great vid!
Perfect timing for planning my capsule for 11days to Munich, Vienna, and Prague hoping with one carry on bag. Only concern is shoes due to cold weather and walking through Christmas markets. I planned mainly black/white and will definitely add colorful scarves! ❤
Thank you so much! This is perfect for me as I'm going from Spain to UK for a wedding next week! I have a cobalt blue trousers suit, and now see that i can adapt your capsule wardrobe and reuse the separate pieces to see me through 5 days!
I loved this video, I'm always trying to find ways to travel as light as possible. These outfits were so beautiful and put together. I also wanted to add that you've been inspiring me so much these past few months, so thank you so much for that. Your content is my favorite!
One of the many things I appreciate about your video content, Alyssa: you show how/what you wore of those items you packed. Not everyone does that in packing videos. I appreciate seeing how to pack, however, I want to see the next step! Thanks! 😁❤️
I laughed so hard when you said "no black on weddings in Europe". Its true. No black, no white, no cream, no rose, nothing too bright or flashy... Weddings are VERY tricky occasions here :D
This has inspired me to go through the "don't currently fit" clothing pieces, and create "essentials" capsules like this. I know I can let go of a LOT of quantity and begin to truly live within the architecturally small closet I have, yet still have plenty to wear when I'm back in my "real" size. Plus, many other people can be clothed in what is currently languishing. I agree with the commenter who said you literally can't make too many of these types of videos. They are always helpful, and I love seeing the variety of outfits you create with the items you packed.
After my comment on a podcast video about never having seen realistic toiletries&medicine + weather-appropriate clothes + tech, shoes, etc, I’ve just seen you’ve already done it! 👏
Wow, what a great idea to avoid the astronomical checked bag charges! I always over pack so this got me thinking about how I could scale down and fit interchangeable pieces into one carry on. This also frees me up from stressing about what I'm going to wear. This is a brilliant idea! And your outfits looked very stylish and chic!
Impressive indeed !! I try to travel light as well, but 10 outfits I have never been able to fit in my FOSSIL LARGE BACKPACK - I’ll try it next time 😀 Travel outfit is pretty much like you, comfy all black and my black London fog 😎 thanks great help !
Love the video and your clever use of a limited number of items. I agree that your pretty flowered scarf would have added a pop of color and personality.
This is awesome!! I just loooove seeing how many outfits can be put together with so few items! It always inspires me! It makes me think about my wardrobe. I am a full-on dress girl and would wear dresses every day! But for travelling, it makes more sense to use separates in order to mix and match and not look the same every day! :)
You should be proud of yourself! I packed today for London although we are not leaving for two weeks to check weight & what will fit. I did not pack trench coat or sweater yet. I might just wear both after watching this!💕🥂
I AM IMPRESSED! I found your video when searching how to pack with a carry on only! I have an upcoming trip during the busy season for travel and don't want the fuss of having multiple bags. Thank you! ☺
I really, really like this video! I have recently begun traveling much lighter and always want to maximize my options - love the suggestions. Also, I bought 2 Power of My People tshirts on your recommendation and I LOVE them! Thanks!

Where did you get that great bright color cube case for toiletries? 😁

I would love to see how you packed your clothing into your backpack.
I know...I was like, Did I miss it? There did not seem any more room after she packed her initial things🤔
And the blazer? That packs? That’s not knit fabric?
@@aiai-j7i Me too. She didn't show all the items IN the back pack. I don't think it all fit.

Inspired… to translate all that classic-ness into a late middle aged reality for a train trip coming up this December! Great job!
I think the key to packing lightly an stylishly is to make sure everything can layer or go together. Strong basics!
I love your necklaces in this video. Would love to see more of your jewelry collection and tips on what a good basic jewelry collection includes. Thank you!
A classic pencil skirt in black or taupe would have added so many different options. All the outfits are timeless. Good job.

I am a full-on dress girl and would wear dresses every day! But for travelling, it makes more sense to use separates in order to mix and match and not look the same every day! :)
Going to Chicago this week for 4 days, glad I watched this. Thx 👍
You should be proud of yourself! I packed today for London although we are not leaving for two weeks to check weight & what will fit. I did not pack trench coat or sweater yet. I might just wear both after watching this!💕🥂
Hi from Munich! 2 years later still classic choices... works for any early fall trip in Europe!
Every combination was chic!
I AM IMPRESSED! I found your video when searching how to pack with a carry on only! I have an upcoming trip during the busy season for travel and don't want the fuss of having multiple bags. Thank you! ☺
I like your videos so much, the technique is very practical and you are so friendly and nice
Very clever packing! Thanks for the tips.
I really, really like this video! I have recently begun traveling much lighter and always want to maximize my options - love the suggestions. Also, I bought 2 Power of My People tshirts on your recommendation and I LOVE them! Thanks!
Yesss Gayle! So glad you're loving POMP! They're the best:)
